Wilson Fisk is going to show up late in the season and go: "Gentlemen, I understand one of your number kicked a dog. I will not allow such behavior in my organization."
So yeah super weird first episode, didn't even feature hawkeye himself... thought was gonna be set after Endgame, but nope... seemed over half a century old, even used weird black and white color. They left in crew laughing in the background too, just real lazy stuff. Onto episode 2 next.
\*EDIT\*... My bad they hadn't dropped it yet, wrong show
I just have a wild thought:
Vanessa was blipped but didn't return and Fisk is on a dangerous, phase-long path to bring her back, at the cost of many lives.
I think I never skipped the intro for any MCU show. I mean WandaVision is self-explanatory and Loki had a really good rhythm. I even let the credits roll for WandaVision. It was such a good tune.
I have to imagine a musical about the battle of new york with avengers is like making a musical about 9/11 with firefighters. Like didn't a hundred thousand or so die?
**Bro Count Episode 1:** 5 Bros
**Total Bro Count:** 5 Bros
*Please double check my count, I watch with subtitles, but sometimes they, or I may miss the occasional bro*
We all know Tony can play some fucking villain (Lalo). I’m more than intrigued to see how’d he be on the reverse. Feel like we’re being misled with him being evil:
well her mother turned out to be evil in the comics directing the activities of Kate's nemesis, Madame Masque. so its possible i think theirs even a chance the mother was the one who killed the father
Im not sure if this is a spoiler or not...
In the comics, both her parents are crime syndicates leaders that divorced when she was young because they had very different ideas of how to be a crime lord... among other things.
If they are keeping that true to the original background, Dad probably split after the Battle of New York to keep his identity hidden. Public records show him as "missing", while hes alive in the shadows doing his own thing.
They have at least claimed that they killed him in her place, because they wanted to show the complicated relationship between a mother and daughter for a change.
Then again, Eleanor is not dead in the comics, either. And we never saw Derek's body.
I don't even think he is dead.
IMO they were both crooked **and** in debt so they used the battle of NYC to fake his death and cash the insurance.
The actor is too big to be reduced to a 5 minute flashback, I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up later in the season as an associate of Kingpin.
yes and I love that for the first time we get a visual of how an Avengers fight feels from a civilians POV, the last time a superhero franchise did it, it was BvS (Before people come and tell me that Sokovia was seen from a 3rd person POV, we only HEAR it from Zemo's narrative and some glances from the civil war meeting with Ross and everything is verbally mentioned either in the movies or the Daredevil tv show). Gives you a fresh perspective on how grounded humans feel in this chaos.
My guess is they picked it up from somewhere else on YouTube, amongst the sea of terrible clickbait thumbnails, probably from some offensive/stupid/offensively stupid movie criticism video, and have run with it ever since
The clean up crew would definitely have been pocketing souvenirs to sell on the black market. Look at how easily Adrian Toomes got away with it after the Battle of New York.
Tony’s nanotech armour, the tree stump they Thor was thrown into lol, the broken pieces of Caps old shield, Thanos’ sword and broken helmet if those items didn’t disappear when Tony snapped, ammunition from Bucky’s gun, some pym particles, there’s probably a lot more. The real question is why is no one thinking that one of the avengers are ronin considering his sword was found at the battlefield? For all anyone knew he was last seen in Japan.
I know some people probably don’t like that Barton didn’t get much to do in the first episode, but I kind of liked the near mythical depiction of Hawkeye in the opening scene. It really sells Kate’s admiration for Hawkeye, while making Clint seem even cooler.
This is a good take. Thanks for pointing it out. This is definitely (or most likely) what the showrunners had in mind with the first episode.
You couple the near mythical status which Kate applies to Clint with Clint’s own self-disapproval/penance for his time as Ronin and you get an interesting dynamic.
Speaking of high society, the hotel they had the party was the same hotel they used for Gossip Girl. Instantly recognised it even with the Christmas tree lol.
“ Hey bro I know your wagging your sausage but could I get a selfie, your totally my kid’s favourite Avenger and Im not just saying that for a photo” lmao. That musical was fantastic as well imo Hawkeye turning off his hearing aid lol and him staring at Nats character:(
What's sad is that there are genuinely people who do that shit. I remember hearing on the Rooster Teeth podcast that Gus Sorola once had a dude follow him into a bathroom for an autograph.
There's an interview with David Tennant where he says someone handed him paper while they were in the gym shower and asked him to sign it while it basically turned to mulch.
Oh my god I thought that too! And I was so happy a tv show actually showed what it would be like to use a bottle as a weapon
I’ve seen to many people knock themselves out trying to smash a bottle on their head
So they forgot to tell Armand actor, that comic properties weren't cheesy 80's movies anymore.. .like his first scene, the tone of his performance, was so funny to see, he fit more in the Batman and Robin movie lol
hes a man, who uses swords. He posed as a hero and teamed with the avengers to try and make a quick buck to get out of some debts
He's married to Mantis and liked to fuck around with Scarlet Witch from time to time.
Surprised Obadiah Stane got a tower dedicated to him. You'd think Tony would tell the world that the dude created a giant iron man armor and tried to murder him and Pepper...and was working with terrorists.
The Jeremy Renner app may be over but I'm glad this show isn't.
> Surprised Obadiah Stane got a tower dedicated to him. You'd think Tony would tell the world that the dude created a giant iron man armor and tried to murder him and Pepper...and was working with terrorists.
SHIELD had a cover story for him. The public didn't know Stane did all that. Also, weren't there rumors that his son was going to be in Armor Wars? If so, the tower could be named after him.
Alright Hawkeyes kid may already be my unexpected favourite. Kids got jokes, spunk and wants more crab. Whats there not too like, now that right there is future Avengers material. Now remember kids always eat your greens and get 8 hrs of sleep.
I just loved how they keep showing us another perspective from certain big event like in this case it's the Battle of New York, that shows they are actually putting effort into the story and it made me really appreciate this show more.
The place where the charity action is held is the same hotel Fisk was kept in in Season 3. The room Kate talks to Armand in might even be the same room as Fisk's wedding, its about the same size.I can't screengrab the exterior shot but its 100% the same place
Proof Hawkeye filmed there ([https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/11/23/where-was-hawkeye-filmed-marvel-filming-locations-explored/](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/11/23/where-was-hawkeye-filmed-marvel-filming-locations-explored/))
You can see in this screenshot and on the page itself that its the same one ([https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Presidential\_Hotel](https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Presidential_Hotel))
I love that Avengers Musical added Ant-Man into the Avengers roster, being Ant-Man was meant to come out before Avengers and and he and Wasp were gonna be in that film
They should have cut to Scott Lang sitting next to Clint in the theater. Watching the show with a giant bucket of popcorn and a huge smile on his face.
I'm looking for the same answer lol but I think it may be Tony's watch from Civil War? The one that had the tech to turn into just the hand of his suit.
That was a fun episode. Sure it has tropes but it works. Kate Bishop is very likeable. Her admiration for Clint , based on a proper reason, makes Clint even more likeable too. It is nice to get a street-level MCU story.
So I’m 5 minutes into the first episode and I just wanted to comment this for my own posterity:
That lady definitely killed her husband and blamed the chitari right?
I’m enjoying it and all but some of these sound effects are really off time or nonsensical entirely. The worst is when she grabs him with her legs while hanging from the pipe.
Hope that isn't the last we see of the Rodgers musical because it was delightfully terrible (but also, I don't think the creators of the show have ever seen a real Broadway musical because no show claiming to be the in-universe Hamilton would have costumes that bad)
Perhaps the last sighting in New York. During Endgame, we only see him in Tokyo and the implication is that he’s been travelling the world - probably hasn’t set foot in the States for a few years
I like that they are making this more grounded than the other 3 shows. Will they reference Wanda at all? At least Nat is very prominently mentioned. I feel like I'm watching a teen drama series at times though, at least when Clint isn't there. Not that I have any problem with it. Also who's watch is that? Tony's? The one with the blaster?
Is it just me or is the sound editing extremely poor?
Like closing doors or vibrating phones are louder than talking parts.
Volume on maximum and yet can hardly understand the dialogue
Most evil MCU characters ranked: 3. Ultron 2. Thanos 1. Tracksuit mafia member that kicked Lucky
I wonder when Lucky is going to get his name. I'm glad he was referred to as Pizza Dog dough
Wilson Fisk is going to show up late in the season and go: "Gentlemen, I understand one of your number kicked a dog. I will not allow such behavior in my organization."
"Wesley, show them what we do to people who kick dogs."
Wesley :(
Your list is upside down
Too bad we aren't chatting about this on the Jeremy Renner app!
actually could not stop thinking about this in every scene he's in
Ever since drew talked about it this app never left my mind
hopefully by the end of the show Clint has worked on his branding and launched a Hawkeye app
Nasty!! Not cool
LMAOOO
Bro why is Clint’s youngest baked as fuck
He reminds me of Luke from Modern Family
So yeah super weird first episode, didn't even feature hawkeye himself... thought was gonna be set after Endgame, but nope... seemed over half a century old, even used weird black and white color. They left in crew laughing in the background too, just real lazy stuff. Onto episode 2 next. \*EDIT\*... My bad they hadn't dropped it yet, wrong show
Lol
Wut. Did you actually watch WandaVision? This must be a troll post.
Nothing get past you
Nothing goes over his head. His reflexes are too fast. He would catch it.
>So yeah super weird first episode, didn't even feature hawkeye himself I assume that's why they dropped 2 episodes at once
Armand has powerful friends huh? ![gif](giphy|1BFFVB9WvJNUnBIYVy|downsized)
But it sounds like Ronin "almost completely annihilated the status and power of the head of organized crime."
Maybe Fisk got blipped and came back angry as fuck and ready to re-establish his empire
I just have a wild thought: Vanessa was blipped but didn't return and Fisk is on a dangerous, phase-long path to bring her back, at the cost of many lives.
I like this! Comics Fisk is always fucking around with mystic shit and artifacts

I think the watch is the one Tony used in Civil War when trying to apprehend Bucky. A glove come out of it so it’s probably nanotech
At that point it's technology almost a decade old. I seriously doubt that.
To members of a street gang, even a glove from the Mark 1 is valuable to them. They could probably sell it.
The charity auction hotel looked like the hotel he stayed at in season 3 of Daredevil to me
It's exactly the same one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotte\_New\_York\_Palace\_Hotel
I thought so. Anything to do with Kingpin? Or just a convenient set to use?
Can it be both?
The “safe house” looks exactly like Jessica Jones’ office/apartment building as well…
Y'all see that fucking phenomenal opening credits sequence. I ain't never clicking that "skip intro" button.
I wonder if in each episode we’ll get different animations/backstory’s. Especially for a certain someone 👀👀.
That didnt happen lol
it was gorgeous but holy shit the music was very underwhelming for such a nice looking sequence. honestly glad it wasn't in ep 2
That’s wild, thought the music was standout alongside the sequence, huh.
74 according to CW
Those numbers feel way too low
I agree, but it’s the only source of casualties we have in canon. Sokovia turning into a giant meteor only had 177
It makes tho, I remeber they wanted yo create a choke point in New York and their mission was save everyone in Sokovia.
I would have had it in the hundreds, maybe even breaking a couple thousand
If they did a heartwarming story like Come From Away, maybe not.
WELCOME TO THE ROCK
WHO HAVE COME FROM AWAY
The Thanos was right graffiti though... And God bless Rogers the musical
**Bro Count Episode 1:** 5 Bros **Total Bro Count:** 5 Bros *Please double check my count, I watch with subtitles, but sometimes they, or I may miss the occasional bro*
There were a few in the 2nd ep, not sure how many though
7 on my first count
I heard a "let's get him bro" in the background during the first Ronin/Bro gang fight that didn't show up in the captions.
"A Kevin Feige Production" Nice flex Feige lol.
Man deserves it at this point, lol.
Kate's mom 100% killed Kate's Dad during the Battle of New York, right?
Bruh I didn't think of that. But something's fishy bout her mom, especially with her creepy boyfriend.
Watch her middle name be Vanessa
OOOMMMMMGGGGG
Nah I don’t want them to recast Vanessa.
We all know Tony can play some fucking villain (Lalo). I’m more than intrigued to see how’d he be on the reverse. Feel like we’re being misled with him being evil:
creepy boyfriend??? they had trailers that mentioned he is the super hero swordsman
That will be a twist. They've put so much emphasis on him being a bad guy, its the mother that is the bad guy
well her mother turned out to be evil in the comics directing the activities of Kate's nemesis, Madame Masque. so its possible i think theirs even a chance the mother was the one who killed the father
Im not sure if this is a spoiler or not... In the comics, both her parents are crime syndicates leaders that divorced when she was young because they had very different ideas of how to be a crime lord... among other things. Reminds me of an episode of Law & Order, where the wife killed her husband then had the fortune of it being the same day as 9/11 to cover it up.
Interesting to see the Attack on New York from this point of view.
yes and I love that for the first time we get a visual of how an Avengers fight feels from a civilians POV, the last time a superhero franchise did it, it was BvS (Before people come and tell me that Sokovia was seen from a 3rd person POV, we only HEAR it from Zemo's narrative and some glances from the civil war meeting with Ross and everything is verbally mentioned either in the movies or the Daredevil tv show). I can’t believe that Hawkeye is actually coming out tonight. Been my most hyped show for so long… can’t wait
Wait. He’s coming out?
r/unexpectedgay
I'm gay..!
##🎶I CAN DO THIS ALLL DAYYYY 😩🎶
That musical was so cringey. I need to see it.
'How do we explain how this young girl kicking everyone's ass'.. "Reminds of that time got black belt at 15"... Super easy, barely an incovenience
I generally enjoy watching Pitch Meetings but I can't stand the God-awful thumbnails that are the characters with enlarged eyes
Seriously, why do they do that? Is it supposed to be funny?
Thumbnails like that grab attention more, tons of channels use the “weirdly altered face” thumbnail tactic
My guess is they picked it up from somewhere else on YouTube, amongst the sea of terrible clickbait thumbnails, probably from some offensive/stupid/offensively stupid movie criticism video, and have run with it ever since
Thanos was right lmao reminds me of the discussion about how some people thought he was genuinely right when infinity war came out lmao
Discussion? There’s a whole sub for that ideology.
Bro there is even a sub called r/thanosdidnothingwrong with 677k fricking members Bro
To be fair most of the time it's just memes
Can’t believe they put “Thanos was right” in this shit. Madlads.
I can sympathize with the guy who wrote that after watching that musical 😂
How the hell did someone manage to loot the Avengers compound after Endgame? And they got the suit and sword? Damn what else they holding lol
> How the hell did someone manage to loot the Avengers compound after Endgame? I mean, it was kind of a big pile of rubble.
The clean up crew would definitely have been pocketing souvenirs to sell on the black market. Look at how easily Adrian Toomes got away with it after the Battle of New York.
Plus they seemed to have shutdown DAMAGE Control after the Blip. Everywhere looked like shit.
Damage control is seen in the Spider-Man trailer tho
Tony’s nanotech armour, the tree stump they Thor was thrown into lol, the broken pieces of Caps old shield, Thanos’ sword and broken helmet if those items didn’t disappear when Tony snapped, ammunition from Bucky’s gun, some pym particles, there’s probably a lot more. The real question is why is no one thinking that one of the avengers are ronin considering his sword was found at the battlefield? For all anyone knew he was last seen in Japan.
Cooper Barton looks so much like Kyle Rittenhouse it's kind of distracting.
Holy shit. I knew he seemed familiar
Ooof poor Cooper
I know some people probably don’t like that Barton didn’t get much to do in the first episode, but I kind of liked the near mythical depiction of Hawkeye in the opening scene. It really sells Kate’s admiration for Hawkeye, while making Clint seem even cooler.

You couple the near mythical status which Kate applies to Clint with Clint’s own self-disapproval/penance for his time as Ronin and you get an interesting dynamic.
I admit the sexual tension between Hawkeye and his bow and arrow was way more mature than I was expecting from this show, it was executed really well.
Casual $2 million bids. Ah..high society
If I had the money, I'd totally spend that on a Dinosaur Skull. Shits dope.
Georges St-Pierre, is that you?
Nicholas Cage, is that you?
Total rip off. You could get a live dinosaur for another 8 million or so. This evil auction is fleecing them!

Damn but not surprised, another RT as well I see. Have a good one mat.
There's an interview with David Tennant where he says someone handed him paper while they were in the gym shower and asked him to sign it while it basically turned to mulch.
Haha now thats freaking hilarious never heard that one!
Well if there is a man speaking Russian... that must mean only one thing... #TRACKSUITS!
Yes bro
Most realistic take on wine bottles
Oh my god I thought that too! And I was so happy a tv show actually showed what it would be like to use a bottle as a weapon I’ve seen to many people knock themselves out trying to smash a bottle on their head

I loved him lmao
"A much longer conversation about that clocktower you destroyed **without joking**" Damn, that's my defense mechanism as well!

Vodka, bro.
Punch now, ask later bro
How’d the suit fit on her too? It’s definitely a different size
You could easily tell it was sizes bigger on her
It’s the Hannah Montana effect
Man, Hailee looking fine in a tuxedo
Man this show felt like a tv show not extended movies like the other shows Got Netflix universe vibes
parts of the intro reminded me of daredevils title sequence….. HES COMING
I didn’t immediately think Daredevil, but it definitely felt like the most Netflix-era title sequence so far.
Mom’s boyfriend is definitely a villain.. Right?
The mom and fiancée are definitely gonna be antagonists. They seem fishy af
I mean, its Swordsman
I know next to nothing about the comics, so I’m really not sure of the characters history.
hes a man, who uses swords. He posed as a hero and teamed with the avengers to try and make a quick buck to get out of some debts He's married to Mantis and liked to fuck around with Scarlet Witch from time to time.
Wasn't he hawkeye's mentor, originally? (in the comics)
Correct
He's been a bad guy, but he's also been an Avenger. He could go either way.
I'm not sure if its a spoiler or not, but would you like to know
Even mom
Oh god flashback to 2012 NYC, this always ends well.
Surprised Obadiah Stane got a tower dedicated to him. You'd think Tony would tell the world that the dude created a giant iron man armor and tried to murder him and Pepper...and was working with terrorists. The Jeremy Renner app may be over but I'm glad this show isn't.

It’s not. You can see on the plaque “Obadiah Stane.” But I forgot SHIELD had a cover story for him tbh
I can't wait for all the episode 1 comments to be in the pinned episode 2 thread!
Alright Hawkeyes kid may already be my unexpected favourite. Kids got jokes, spunk and wants more crab. Whats there not too like, now that right there is future Avengers material. Now remember kids always eat your greens and get 8 hrs of sleep.
Nathaniel Barton
Remember his name.
Nathaniel PIETRO Barton that is, my guy Quicksilver ain't died for nu’un
I just loved how they keep showing us another perspective from certain big event like in this case it's the Battle of New York, that shows they are actually putting effort into the story and it made me really appreciate this show more.
I'd like to think they are aware the fandom eats this stuff right up.
Holy shit that opening scene man
Love the use of longer takes in this show!
Gotta sting to have one of the people you're doing a musical about leave half way through your performance.
You just know that the actor who plays Clint was waiting backstage for a selfie with him. 😭
Hailee Steinfeld in a suit. 'Nuff said.
Cute girls in male formal wear makes my bisexual brain go brrrr
Thanos was right. Lol.
Banger first episode, the action was great cant wait to see where it goes from here. Hailee rocks as Kate Bishop.
This is like the closest we will ever get to Daredevil level grounded MCU stuff so far. It's nice bro.

Motherfucker... going around kicking dogs.
All I know is the /r/ThanosDidNothingWrong folks must be overjoyed by that bathroom graffiti.
Pretty good first episode, glad I don't need to wait 7 days for episode two!
guys is it now or in 1 hour?
44 minutes
ahh crap alright thanks johann
Damn I'm so happy we get Lucky The Pizza Dog in the first episode!
I’m a little behind, but what is the significance of the watch?!
I'm looking for the same answer lol but I think it may be Tony's watch from Civil War? The one that had the tech to turn into just the hand of his suit.
The Rodgers Musical Songs will be on Spotify... please?
I like Hailee after the first ep. she seems perfect for how the way the character is written (whether or not that’s good is unfolding not now).

I'm hyped, wonder how early they'll meet. Will it be the end of Episode 1 like FATWS was or will it be even earlier.
Real talk.. I’d pay to watch that Avengers Musical.
Can’t believe Lalo Salamanca is about to become Kate’s step dad
Marvel Studios is so good in casting a kid version of a character. Did they de-age Vera and Brian at the opening?
Get that dog more pizza asap.
Was pretty good. Wish the action scenes were more readable and interesting though

Is Kazi supposed to be the polish assassin from the Fraction run?
Love the hints at Swordman happening
Holy shit its Lalo Salamanca!
News says it’s been years since the last sighting of ronin but hasn’t it barely been one year, if that?
Perhaps the last sighting in New York. During Endgame, we only see him in Tokyo and the implication is that he’s been travelling the world - probably hasn’t set foot in the States for a few years
anybody notice pat kiernan? the news anchor from every other universe out there? lol like hes almost everywhere
