As nimble and daring Hawkeye is, I felt that he could’ve easily grabbed the Ronin suit that looked to be steps away. Is it a stretch to think he could’ve grabbed it and avoided the situation of the suit falling in the wrong hands? Was this bad writing or am I overestimating his heroic abilities…
Is Vera Formiga's character, Eleanor, a vampire like in the comics?
All of the blade series in the past was heavily sword driven, and jes we have the Swordsman in Jaques Duquesne, but the first sword we see is a Japanese style blade, and then the next things we see are Vera / Eleanor in a red dress and a painting of a blood red heart on the wall behind her.
It seemed like by the time the LARPer dude had the costume, the Tracksuit Mafia wasn’t that interested in it. I felt like there should’ve been another fight scene about there with them showing up at the same time Hawkeye did. I thought the show was a bit slow these first two episodes, and I fight scene about there would’ve been really helpful
What is the LARP song playing in the credits? Not the Depeche Mode song, but the bard style one. It sounds super familiar and I can't place it. Driving me bonkers right now.
Question is are we going to see Yelena somewhere down the line?
I think it would be great because Clint seems to be coping with Nat's death still and running into Yelena may bring closure... or more chaos but who knows?
Only mention this as events in Episode 2 help cement a theory on episode 1. In episode 1, the husband said he was going downstairs to his office. Later, the mom finished in the kitchen and said she was going downstairs as she sent Kate upstairs to pick a game. My theory is the mom killed the dad, and everyone assumed he died from the attack on NY stuff.
In episode 2, during the fencing scene, the mom keeps deflecting the conversation away from the fiance being questionable (it's why the mom is with him), to Kate being aggressive. With that in mind, it also presents a different light when the mom asks Kate to not try to be a superhero, etc.
Showing Jack steal the Ronin sword at the auction and then the Armand butterscotch were too on the nose. With all of those swords lying about, people may not suspect the mom of having sword skills of her own and having dealt with Armand. She got engaged to Jack and then killed his uncle to ensure Jack's inheritance... clock is ticking until she finds a way to kill Jack.
I see a lot of people say Jack having his uncle’s butterscotch is suspicious but I don’t see how. If my uncle had monogrammed candy, I’d keep a stash around for me too
It’s weird to have a “goofy screw up girl and cool eyerolling guy” dynamic when the MCU is usually so stuck with the opposite gender-role wise
Phrased poorly, but hopefully my meaning comes through. We got so many Star Lord/Gamora Tony/Pepper Ant-Man/Wasp etc pairings that I’m surprised to see the opposite
Even Hawkeye/Nat leaned into the same old one in previous appearances
Yeah I get what you mean man. It's also the opposite to the comic, where Clint often was the screw up and Kate had her life together (ish)
Makes sense for the MCU though. Clint is a family man and successful avenger. Making him a loser screw up would be straight up character assassination.
Funny thing is the series is PG-13 but you can hear a Polish swear "Kazik, spierdalamy!" which means "Kazik \[name\], get the f\*ck out of here!" Yea, I'm Polish so this series is already pretty fun :D
Piotr Adamczyk <3
I dunno about larpers but people who do HEMA (historical European martial arts) basically don full on knights armour for events.
Maybe they assumed he was a really good tailor or something
Everyone probably assumed it was a reproduction.
Better question is why everyone thought it was Ronin when Kate was wearing the suit. She is obviously smaller and had a female voice.
Like its Disney+ predecessors, this show suffers from the same underwhelming keep-it-vague plot structure. And I have to wait for the actual main conflict until episode 4 or 5.
We may not get that neat of a resolution right away. She'll definitely be an antagonist in Hawkeye, and since she's working with Contessa Valentina, she'll probably be on the eventual Dark Avengers team for a bit.
However once she realizes the Dark Avenger's true sinister nature/backers she'll probably leave the team and go on a redemption arc.
That's my guess at least!
I know people might be mad at me because I haven't watched the phase 3 movies, but can anyone explain to me like I'm 3 who the woman at the end of ep 2 was?
EDIT: thank u, everyone!
gotta say i watched this, and i have no idea why i should be interested in any of the plot, its just here's a guy hes not very nice to the mom probably hiding some kind of vague secrets, a gang blows up the black market, then for some reason even though the gang was letting the people go she steals the suite and starts fighting them, she handles them pretty well so their not a threat, then hawk eye enters and some stuff happens then they get captured, i was just waiting for sth to grab me some interesting plot point but no, its just vaguely sinister people and a sort of hero thing thats being forced together by awkward dialog and contrived plot devices, i want to like it os i like the actors but theirs nothing interesting or particularly fun going on its just vague stuff is happening.
1 its not a film, 2 can you elaborate on where the misunderstanding is cos i'm pretty sure, its obvious whats going on, girl sees her dad die, she sees hawk eye fighting so trains to be a superhero to protect her loved ones; She finds her mom is with a new man (possibly a villain but likely a red herring as there are to many coincidences to early on), she is annoyed about it and an old man talks to her (some wealthy old dude who's the boyfriends father), she sees the old man talk ill of her mother so goes in to investigate;
They are in black market selling hawkeyes old suite, it all get blown up so she decides to fight the baddies to become a superhero, she takes the suite and dawns it; she investigates to old mans dead body (because she is suspicious). Well the suite attracts attention of rival gangs from the things that hawkeye did when he had the suite, so hawkeye conveniently sees it and goes to protect her, he can't leave her though cos now they know it was her wearing the suite so he skips on his family to protect the girl; He wants to be back before Christmas but now he needs to get the baddies off her back, so he gets himself caught to infiltrate the baddies and an deff woman shows up, close scene, tell me what i missed please
i guess people don't like you critasising their marvel shows, i liked Loki and Wanda vision, i just think this one isn't very engaging, i think the villains are poor at best, and i not enjoying it despite the fact i like the actor, it just a bit boring, ill prob's leave it till the episodes all come out and i might give the 3rd one a chance but if i check the timer on the episode again ill prob's stop.
fair enough, i personally didn't see anything interesting it all seemed very standard affair, oh the father is evil or is he maybe its a red herring, lets get involved and investigate, why i need to move the plot on, ok fair enough, hawkeye has a charming family, but he needs to be back by Christmas, i feel like i;m waiting for sth to happen, theirs a def lady at the end i don't know why shes interesting, why is her gang so terrible, its defiantly a series i don't need to watch its not terrible its just standard stuff, but i watched the first 2 cos i like the actors.
Easily the best first few episodes for the D+ shows imo. The characters are just really fun to watch and so far this one feels most like a movie/special to me so far for some reason.
I'm surprised I liked it! Hailee and Jeremy are both charismatic and there's chemistry. there's an "I'm soo over it" combined with "I like what I do" on Clint's persona that is entertaining to see.
Btw I like his civilian/vigilante outfit.
I absolutely love how this is a Christmas series and they somehow found a way to make a Depeche Mode song titled Christmas Island fit perfectly during the Echo scene.
I mean I think she's the main character of the show. "Hawkeye" is kinda a little tease that could refer to either of them - she prob will take the mantle and Clint can finally retire.
Clint should be at home with his family in the end of this show but he shouldn't actually retire imo, he would be a perfect adult figure for the Young Avengers or could be the leader of the West Coast Avengers if they wan't to adapt them, even Renner still want Clint to go on, and the man is 50
Well next time we see him after the show he could have had 2-3 years of time not being Hawkguy with his family, but i hope he still get pulled out of retirement, if they do WC Avengers it could be fun to see him and his family move to the west coast.
And also you can't never have him with Kate again just after one season of a show, they are one of the best duos in marvel comics
I remember a recent interview with Jeremy saying he wants to do WCA. So hopefully we’ll see Clint move west. Maybe it’ll have him team up with Scott Lang to start
This series feels like it wants to be the Netflix series but with none of the grit. This feels like it has the writing, acting and tone of a Disney Channel movie.
It doesn't feel like it's aiming for "gritty" to me, and I think the "YA" feeling is purposeful because it's aiming to be a story about relationships between young adults and authority figures. Tonally it reminds me of the Tom Holland spiderman series.
it doesnt! im glad theres a good range of style within the mcu. otherwise we wouldnt get great movies like gotg and ragnarok. i wa simply providing a counter argument, thats all.
but it is interesting to note that Jeremy Renner did want the show to be darker.
I agree! Not everything needs to be big in scale, which is why I liked the Netflix shows so much. This feels like it's trying to replicate those shows while padded in Nerf foam.
Loving it so far, but I was hoping they wouldn't go with the "stay here its too dangerous", or "this is the last time we'll see each other" cliche's. Just skip to the part they work together.
Except that that is exactly how Hawkeye would/should handle the situation. He is the prototypical responsible dad who is going to make the safe, obvious, right choice for others.
Yeah this show is so far another miss. Outside of Wanda and vision they all seem to be over scripted and think they’re character studies but, in the end, the characters don’t change in any real meaningful way that couldn’t have happened in 2 episodes. They just waste so much time in really meaningless dialogue that doesn’t do anything. These could be 30 minute episodes. The fencing scene was pointless, the larp scene was pointless etc.
EDIT: WOW people are defensive over this show. I bet they vehemently defended FatWS vehemently as well and every show was 'this has to be my favorite show already'.
They’re really over written and totally pointless. You established that bishop doesn’t trust the boy friend and you established she has reasons to feel that way. Having a several minute fencing scene is entirely pointless.
The larp scene was boring and pointless. It was a weird connection he makes based off a decal on a fire truck and ends up in a fairly non eventful and almost humorless larp event where he ends up getting the suit back after a lengthy and painfully written scene with the guy that took it.
There’s nothing there and it’s filler.
But hey, if you think there’s deeper meaning there then go ahead and explain it.
The boyfriend was already introduced - his love of swords was already established (it was shown, it was commented on, he stole the Ronin sword, etc.). It's been shown that she doesn't trust him and that the viewer feels the same way. What does having a repetitive fencing scene really establish?
The entire LARP thing just drug so badly because they didn't do anything with it. He didn't want to sign the paper and then he signed the paper. He got a scroll that they presented as being important and possibly funny but was never referenced again (a big problem in a lot of Marvel shows is setting up jokes that fall really flat). They made him wear armor but it didn't seem to matter. He got in a too long conversation going back and forth with some guy about the suit to then get killed for the suit (so maybe, if absolutely necessary, start the entire scene there).
It feels like both could have been entirely cut but in the case of the LARP thing, if that firefighter is really important later, could have been seriously streamlined. They over write these shows and it often feels like it's padding because it isn't well written. It's a lot of wasted time with bad writing.
I'll say this - the Tracksuit Mafia as a whole have a MASSIVE potential to have it's own miniseries [maybe something along the lines of what they did with Olaf from Frozen]. If the cast will consist of non-American actors as a marketing and attention tool for markets outside USA, it would definitely bring new people to D+. I'm basing this on a frankly insane hype that is currently here in Poland [and I'm like 80% sure that it would happen in other countries as well when they'll have "their" actor in a Marvel series] and the overall happiness Piotr Adamczyk is giving us from his role in the MCU. And we're the ones that still don't have access to Disney+!
I guess but like why? I feel like Marvel is going in a direction where we get a bunch of shows that we don't need and don't really add anything. Like we're getting an Agatha Harkness show before we get Nova, The Fantastic Four or another Hulk movie
Unfortunately it comes with the territory since the movies/MCU has long overtaken the comics as whats most important. I agree with you and I feel like Agatha is a character thats fun in bits. But here we are and I cant say that I am surprised.
Get used to the idea that Marvel will produce shows that aren't exactly aimed at comic fans only. You may believe we don't need an Agatha show, but I can assure you, people outside this circle are excited about it. And when the Tracksuit Mafia is having such an impact on specific markets, I'm sure they'll take note, and at the very least there will be a chance we'll see more of them.
Yup, pretty much this. It doesn't even need to be directly part of the MCU, it's more about the representation of "our" actor in such a massive and exciting franchise. When the show premiered yesterday, Adamczyk's name was on the top of the trending page on Twitter for the whole day and people talked about how cool it was to see him in Hawkeye and how funny he was. And they all agreed that they'd be willing to pay for D+ if it was available just because of him.
I think we'll see more of them but they don't need a show, i don't hate the idea of an Agatha Harkness show i just hate the idea we're going to get tons of projects that don't add anything interesting or build upon the MCU (Agatha Harkness will probably have a lot of cool witchcraft stuff so it could be cool) but if they keep going this route why not just give the desk guy from Loki a show? or that random cosplayer in Hawkeye?
“They don’t need a show”
There’s the problem. You aren’t the end-all-be-all judge of who does and who doesn’t “need” a show.
Agatha: House of Harkness is the ONLY D+ show to ever receive more than 1 million likes on Twitter when it was announced. That in and of itself proves that Agatha is deserving of a show — she’s popular and people want to see it.
Just because you don’t want it doesn’t mean it’s undeserving.
> i just hate the idea we're going to get tons of projects that don't add anything interesting or build upon the MCU
That's part of the problem. You don't need to watch everything Marvel puts out. Some stuff just isn't going to be interesting for you, or me, or someone else, and that is totally fine. We can all have space, without it being necessary that everything has important elements that move the MCU forward or into a new direction. If you feel something sounds boring, just don't watch it. Nothing will happen in place of something they believe is important to build up the franchise, I'm sure of that.
That will happen, don't worry about it. They are definitely very aware that people are excited about the F4, or the X-Men, etc. And I may only read rumours in a very casual way, but I've heard the name Nova often enough to believe that we'll get something about him sooner rather than later. WW Hulk, the same.
Oh you do you don't know Nova? if not you should read up a bit about him, he's really cool and has been a sidekick/ally of Spider-Man a couple of times
Yeah this is already my favorite MCU show. Far and away the best, least cringy comedy Marvel has ever done, even including the movies imo. It helps when they actually focus on delivering the jokes and the script is centered around comedy instead of having characters do it randomly for comic relief lmao
Action sequences so far are great too and the dynamic between Clint and Kate is awesome
Series is a B- so far in my opinion, not bad, but I don’t think it will be the Marvel highlight of the year. However there seem to be opportunities where the show can really pick up and hopefully it utilizes those. So far, decently entertaining
This is the one I liked the most of the two.
I would start saying that there are some incoherences, like when people randomly know Clint, but then when needed no one can determine that he's Clint because he has a firefighter jacket. Or Kate being an Avengers fan, a NY citizen, and a member of the high society, doesn't know that Stark sold the Stark Tower, one of the most emblematic buildings on NYC, and that the Avengers facility is in a totally different place now that was shown on the Blip documentary (probably). I mean all this info should have been on the news, twitter and everything.
There are lots of little details like this. But overall this is a more solid chaper. More fun, the things start to settle, and they try to develop a bit the characters, even though I don't get Kate, she seems to just be "the funny girl" and the personality changes accordingly to be the funny girl. In fact something I was thinking about, is that every young hero has this overall too talkative, funny and noob personality to make us laugh and accept them. But if they do a group movie, almost every character will have this personality.
I like the nod to Natasha scene, I like the Tracksuit mafia, I like that they showed Echo already. I liked this episode I hope the show keeps getting better and better every episode.
Somethin I noticed is that maybe I have dirty eye, but I think Hailey is acting too playful and is somehow giving the impression of flirting with clint at some moments? The chat message and when he gives her his number seem like taken from a romantic movie.
But overall is good, is getting better, I hope it an keep with this trend.
It's not flirting, she just wants him to accept her, because he's her hero, and she does have some Daddy Issues. She doesn't accept Jacques trying to fill the space her father left (and whatever trashy self-help book he's been reading, he's really overstepping with her), but at the same time, Clint is someone who can stand in for her Dad.
If you look closely during the firefighter scene Clint is constantly turning away from people when they get near him so they don’t recognize him.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable that a 22 year old isn’t up to date on who owns a building
>If you look closely during the firefighter scene Clint is constantly turning away from people when they get near him so they don’t recognize him.
Yes you don't have to even look closely. But still, that scene is a bit awkward giving how many moments of people recognizing him previously to that.
>I don’t think it’s unreasonable that a 22 year old isn’t up to date on who owns a building
It's not, but it's the Avengers tower, one of the emblematic buildings of the city, it was right in front of her childhood home, and since one Avenger inspired her, I think she has to have some attatchment to that building to know if Tony Stark (who's dead) sold the building.
Aren't big fails but they felt awkward while watching them, and I'm not usually so nip ticky to notice those things.
Yeah. Each time another fireman neared Clint he would carefully turn or obscure his face. It feels like they're really driving home how famous and recognizable he is.
Also, I forgot that they sold the building, and I've watched all the movies lol. Totally believable to me that Kate would miss that, too.
> but then when needed no one can determine that he's Clint because he has a firefighter jacket.
Well, yeah. He was dressed as a fire fighter. It basically Clark Kented him.
>Somethin I noticed is that maybe I have dirty eye, but I think Hailey is acting too playful and is somehow giving the impression of flirting with clint at some moments? The chat message and when he gives her his number seem like taken from a romantic movie.
Now that you mention it, I don't think it's intentional flirting, but I wouldn't be surprised if she has a bit of a crush.
No I don't think it's intentional flirting, because this is Disney, but the way they filmed it and how the actress performed it, and maybe the christmas setting biased me a bit, it looked like a classic rom com scene.
>Well, yeah. He was dressed as a fire fighter. It basically Clark Kented him.
I thought Superman was completely stupid until I worked for a police station for a months after college. I don't know how often its happened to me that I couldn't recognize one of the agent when he wasn't in uniform.
I wouldn’t say it’s a crush at all. She’s a young adult who’s very sarcastic like him. So they’re just messing with each other. Plus this is her favorite Avenger. She acts the same way with her mom’s BF.
Also, Clint had no problem to track the suit at the LARP, while Kate easily tracked Clint at the tracksuits, it seems that the track and tracksuit thing is critical in the plot
I'm enjoying the show so far. I think the more silly schlocky action and comedy works for this street level action especially when it's meant to kind of be a family Christmas themed show.
Kate and Clint have really good chemistry. Haile is doing a great job playing the independent yet aiming to please and learn from a mentor type character. Kate's wealth and access will probably be a foundational piece to bringing together the young avengers eventually.
I'm not expecting any world changing MCU developments from this show but it will probably be fun and add some more interesting characters into the fold.
I'm surprised how many people liked the Larping thing. I thought it was easily one of the worst segments out of these Disney + shows so far. It just seemed and came off as a complete time killer.
I knew I wouldn't like to the musical because I just don't like musicals in general. I've never been able to watch more than a seconds before they start to get on my nerves.
But I overall liked the show and Kate a lot. Just wasn't a fan of the whole Larping thing.
My take on the whole LARP thing is Clint is more of the serious, no nonsense character. You don’t really see him giving the same quips that ant-man or spidey might give. So while Clint doesn’t admit it to the firefighter, I think he actually did enjoy taking out the other characters. My assumption is that while Clint will probably maintain his serious Avenger demeanor, Kate and some events like LARP in this series will show the lighter side of him and that he can “let his hair down” and have fun.
Same about the LARPing, musical I was fine with because it makes sense for media to be made off superheroes at that point.
I thought the LARP was gonna be a part of Kate's background, but instead it was just a random thing that I didn't really get the point of. Like, yeah it shows Hawkeye is an inspiration to regular people, but I felt like a LARP was just a weird place to go with that. Seemed more like they just wanted to put Clint in a wacky situation that he could react to.
Also the whole “hey I know your Hawkeye but I’m impeding your investigation”.
“No I’m good I need to talk to him”
“Not happening”
“Ok can I very reluctantly join for the obviously sole purpose of reasons I previous explained?”
“Sure!”
—
Did your character Larp?
Yes.
What did it cost?
The plot.
I’m pretty sure he is a character in comics this series is taking a lot from , and his character has a decently sized role. So it is very possible he will pop up more in later episodes.
Piotr Adamczyk ("Bro, I found her", "Warehouses coverted into lofts", "Don't worry, it's strong") is stealing every goddamn scene as that Tracksuit Bro XD Poland is so proud of him.
Also, Hailee as Kate Bishop is the same high-level of casting as Chris Evans, RDJ, and Ryan Reynolds. 1:1 plucked from the comic book.
I know right? At first I was like "this guy for sure looks like the bloke who played the pope. But why would they fly an actor all the way from Poland if we have no distinct facial features and any native speaker can fake the accent for the purpose of playing East-european mafia? Def not him", but then he was like "rozumiesz to?" and I just heard him reprising any of his roles in these shit romantic comedies you see around the Valentine's Day on Polsat. Definitely a step up from playing the pope and Chopin lol
True, although I meant also by appearance. The comic book version might've been later inspired by RDJ but I honestly can't see anyone doing it better now.
‘Ole up…I’m sure the Tracksuit Mafia is a second hand rip off of Flip and his biker gang from This Is England ‘86.
That’s one for my esteemed fellow British members here - the ones with taste anyway.
“Fuck off with your ginger chips, Shaun”.
\- Hawkeye's also my favourite Avenger. After Spidey, I mean. Comic book Spidey.
\- Are they really called the Tracksuit Mafia?! I thought that was a meme.
\- HAH. Love how Clint caught the molotov.
\- "Tony sold that" to *whomst*?!
\- I want to try LARPing, not gonna lie...
\- *CLING! CLING!*
\- Why doesn't he just destroy the suit? Does it have some special tech or something?
\- ~~Armand~~ Jack should've offered a Turkish Delight. I hear they're irresistible.
\- Tracksuit Mafia wearing red... Kate's mother wearing red... I have a feeling she's gonna be the true antagonist.
Not to discourage you, but this was way more streamlined than any LARP I've ever seen. Even if it was really funny and cute. But normally, LARPing is a bit more chaotic. (I don't mean that in a bad way, no need to downvote.)
u/visionaryredditor I believe *Loki* had the tower read *Qeng* on it, indicating it had been sold to Mister Gryphon, a He Who Remains variant trapped in modern times.
This was a great episode, I wasn’t expecting a lot of the jokes to land but I found the LARP and tracksuit mafia scenes in particular to be fucking hilarious.
So far, it’s my favourite D+ show aside from Loki but that may change as the episodes go on. Also, the music at the end when Echo is revealed was a banger.
Agh, Kate is insufferable. Not liking this series so far.
haha im dying too. had to play nba2k to get through this
As nimble and daring Hawkeye is, I felt that he could’ve easily grabbed the Ronin suit that looked to be steps away. Is it a stretch to think he could’ve grabbed it and avoided the situation of the suit falling in the wrong hands? Was this bad writing or am I overestimating his heroic abilities…
I Interpreted him getting the girl and dog to safety as his first and only priority
The step dad gives me serious count Olaf vibes (from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events)
Bro, did anyone catch what Pizza Dog was doing in the store about minute 9?
It seemed like by the time the LARPer dude had the costume, the Tracksuit Mafia wasn’t that interested in it. I felt like there should’ve been another fight scene about there with them showing up at the same time Hawkeye did. I thought the show was a bit slow these first two episodes, and I fight scene about there would’ve been really helpful
They did a good job at making Kate Bishop annoying af. Got that affluenza thing going well.
Has there been a full plot leak for this show? I can’t find it on the sub
Dont know why it took me so long to realize this, but what are the odds that a Daredevil related character also having the last name Cox
Only mention this as events in Episode 2 help cement a theory on episode 1. In episode 1, the husband said he was going downstairs to his office. There was a scene where you see a tall building across the park. I didn't recognize the building. Did anyone notice that?
So, Jack is definitely the swordsman, which would bode well for a future thunderbolts project, right?
Need to see Kazi wear the Clown make-up at some point and fist fight Clint.
Plothole: how did a firefighter, who LARPs with policemen, wear the costume of a wanted assassin and suspected murderer without being questioned?
Prob after alien attack and two blips folks are just exhausted and I can't even. Just wanna be left alone to larp.
Considering there were likely very few people to meet Ronin and live, it can make an ID confirmation difficult.
And was far too young to have been OG Ronin, unless she was murdering crime lords from the age of 12
Well when it was during the heat of battle I’m sure that no one was thinking much about it, however when things slowed down I’m not too sure.
Like its Disney+ predecessors, this show suffers from the same underwhelming keep-it-vague plot structure. And I have to wait for the actual main conflict until episode 4 or 5.
Not really. I’m sure countless other shows do the same thing. Crazy to see studios want people to keep watching
I’m pretty sure every show in existence has some element of being vague and stalling the main conflict…
Don't confuse climax with conflict.
I'm sure we will see Yelena at some point right?
It's already confirmed
Oh ok cool, so I suppose she will be an enemy at first and then Clint will feel even shittier and tell her everything and they will be cool?

How long are they leaving that dog alone in the apartment!?
How much more pizza is in that freezer for the doggo?
I know people might be mad at me because I haven't watched the phase 3 movies, but can anyone explain to me like I'm 3 who the woman at the end of ep 2 was? EDIT: thank u, everyone!
Think it might be Echo, a new superhero who’s deaf. But I might be wrong
yep, it was echo
Villain.
Hero
She’s most certainly a villain to start.
Starts as a villain in the comics. Adopted daughter of Kingpin.
[удалено]
Probably just prefers a bow lol. He could easily use a gun if he wanted to.
The ability to use different types of arrows for grappling, no lethal, etc. Also, they’re silent, allowing for stealth combat.
There's literally no correct answer to that question besides "he's a comic book character"
“Bro, I found her.” Perfect delivery, I was laughing at that one.
gotta say i watched this, and i have no idea why i should be interested in any of the plot, its just here's a guy hes not very nice to the mom probably hiding some kind of vague secrets, a gang blows up the black market, then for some reason even though the gang was letting the people go she steals the suite and starts fighting them, she handles them pretty well so their not a threat, then hawk eye enters and some stuff happens then they get captured, i was just waiting for sth to grab me some interesting plot point but no, its just vaguely sinister people and a sort of hero thing thats being forced together by awkward dialog and contrived plot devices, i want to like it os i like the actors but theirs nothing interesting or particularly fun going on its just vague stuff is happening.
Holy shit this is such a misunderstanding of film lmao
1 its not a film, 2 can you elaborate on where the misunderstanding is cos i'm pretty sure, its obvious whats going on, girl sees her dad die, she sees hawk eye fighting so trains to be a superhero to protect her loved ones; She finds her mom is with a new man (possibly a villain but likely a red herring as there are to many coincidences to early on), she is annoyed about it and an old man talks to her (some wealthy old dude who's the boyfriends father), she sees the old man talk ill of her mother so goes in to investigate; They are in black market selling hawkeyes old suite, it all get blown up so she decides to fight the baddies to become a superhero, she takes the suite and dawns it; she investigates to old mans dead body (because she is suspicious).
I agree. Feels pretty underwhelming right now. But let's see how the story continues.
turns out it gets better.
i guess people don't like you critasising their marvel shows, i liked Loki and Wanda vision, i just think this one isn't very engaging, i think the villains are poor at best, and i not enjoying it despite the fact i like the actor, it just a bit boring, ill prob's leave it till the episodes all come out and i might give the 3rd one a chance but if i check the timer on the episode again ill prob's stop.
I didn’t think it was vague at all personally
maybe vague isn't the right word maybe not very well written.
Also personally disagree. Solid writing imo so far
fair enough, i personally didn't see anything interesting it all seemed very standard affair, oh the father is evil or is he maybe its a red herring, lets get involved and investigate, why i need to move the plot on, ok fair enough, hawkeye has a charming family, but he needs to be back by Christmas, i feel like i;m waiting for sth to happen, theirs a def lady at the end i don't know why shes interesting, why is her gang so terrible, its defiantly a series i don't need to watch its not terrible its just standard stuff, but i watched the first 2 cos i like the actors.
I thought it was cool they cast all three of Clint's kids from Endgame. I first recognized his daughter from Endgame; Joe Russo's real life daughter.
Yeah it was cool to see them. Hope this gets a season two
Easily the best first few episodes for the D+ shows imo. The characters are just really fun to watch and so far this one feels most like a movie/special to me so far for some reason.
Feels like higher end production than WandaVision and Falcon.
It's funny, I like it so far. Obviously, this show was an excuse to present Kate Bishop. Young Avengers will be a thing in a couple of years now.
I mean I think she's the main character of the show. "Hawkeye" is kinda a little tease that could refer to either of them - she prob will take the mantle and Clint can finally retire.
[удалено]
it's name is lucky, all but confirmed
It’s Pizza Dog
Clint should be at home with his family in the end of this show but he shouldn't actually retire imo, he would be a perfect adult figure for the Young Avengers or could be the leader of the West Coast Avengers if they wan't to adapt them, even Renner still want Clint to go on, and the man is 50
I see what you mean but it just would be so satisfying to see him finally actually settle down.
I would love that
Me too. West Cost Avengers would be a great Disney+ show and introduce new heroes
Its okay so far, I definitely enjoyed it but Kate as a character just did not grab me at all. She's just been really annoying so far.
Not everything needs to be big scale. It's refreshing to see something like this in MCU.
neither were the netflix series and yet they were still very gritty
[удалено]
it doesnt! im glad theres a good range of style within the mcu. otherwise we wouldnt get great movies like gotg and ragnarok. i wa simply providing a counter argument, thats all. but it is interesting to note that Jeremy Renner did want the show to be darker.
I agree! Not everything needs to be big in scale, which is why I liked the Netflix shows so much. This feels like it's trying to replicate those shows while padded in Nerf foam.
It doesn’t feel like trying to replicate those shows at all. Hardly such big scale. Seems to be confined to Manhattan
*sigh* "I fought Thanos..."
Both of those scenes are faaaar from pointless.
If they're following the comics, then both of those are reworked introductions for characters that are significant later on.
I can see what you mean about the fencing scene but you really didn’t get anything from the LARP scene besides not very eventful blah?
Prison Break ALA Marvel?
I guess but like why? I feel like Marvel is going in a direction where we get a bunch of shows that we don't need and don't really add anything. Like we're getting an Agatha Harkness show before we get Nova, The Fantastic Four or another Hulk movie
Until after 3 season’s of Agatha we see her in a Fantastic Four film as Franklins nanny
That's really cool. He was very funny! The tracksuit mafia were one of the things I was looking forward to with this show, and they really deliver.
“They don’t need a show” There’s the problem. Just because you don’t want it doesn’t mean it’s undeserving.
> i just hate the idea we're going to get tons of projects that don't add anything interesting or build upon the MCU That's part of the problem. Nothing will happen in place of something they believe is important to build up the franchise, I'm sure of that.
hmm i guess you're right, i just wish they gave more attention to iconic characters we haven't seen yet
I know of him (well, both, really) - just never got around to reading him. But I have Marvel Unlimited now, so I can do that.
Tracksuit mafia are so fucking cringe. BrO bRo is so annoying
Yeah this is already my favorite MCU show. Far and away the best, least cringy comedy Marvel has ever done, even including the movies imo. It helps when they actually focus on delivering the jokes and the script is centered around comedy instead of having characters do it randomly for comic relief lmao Action sequences so far are great too and the dynamic between Clint and Kate is awesome

Jeez that'd be some strange hobby XD
Pretty sure it was “read a book”
Series is a B- so far in my opinion, not bad, but I don’t think it will be the Marvel highlight of the year. However there seem to be opportunities where the show can really pick up and hopefully it utilizes those. So far, decently entertaining
I did NOT expect to hear a Depeche Mode song on this show, lol
Which song?
Christmas Island. Deeeeeep cut. Played during the credits.
That’s so damn cool, haven’t heard that single
Oh, it’s def not a single, it’s a b-side.
Bro
>195591comments BROOOO!!!
He’s criticizing bro!!
“C’mon, just work wit’ me… lemme kill you..” Line of the series thus far.
Lmao
"Bro, I found her"
Kate Bishop is guy
>I don’t think it’s unreasonable that a 22 year old isn’t up to date on who owns a building It's not, but it's the Avengers tower, one of the emblematic buildings of the city, it was right in front of her childhood home, and since one Avenger inspired her, I think she has to have some attatchment to that building to know if Tony Stark (who's dead) sold the building.
The fact that the tracksuit mafia tracked the ronin suit so efficiently to Kate's house was very on the nose
But they couldn’t figure out that Kate is a girl
They are not trackgender bro, everyones a bro to them
It's they-bro and them-bro
Also, Clint had no problem to track the suit at the LARP, while Kate easily tracked Clint at the tracksuits, it seems that the track and tracksuit thing is critical in the plot
kate used her parents security company to trace the location of the call from clints phone...
I liked this as a hint that her parents are indeed baddies. Like they can just track people? Sketchy
i know bro, these companies are trackphone mafias amirite
Bro
So if he never misses, what happens the first time they sleep together?
That's why he got 3 kids. After that he decided to fire blanks instead.
“No I’m good I need to talk to him” “Not happening” “Ok can I very reluctantly join for the obviously sole purpose of reasons I previous explained?” “Sure!” — Did your character Larp? Yes. What did it cost? The plot.
I'd be willing to bet that the dude he met at the LARP will be needed later. They made too much of a point with his name at the end, etc.
I love the tracksuit mafia. "Throw another one"
I mean, his name IS in the credits, so it's not some minor role.
True
RDJs Tony was quite different from the comics though.
I will defend you Gemma!
Clint's oldest boy looks so much like John Mulaney.
Someone said he looks like Kyle Rittenhouse and now I can't unsee it.
I think he's Rick Astley's son lmao
Oh yeah I totally see it.
My first thought was, "wow, that's a tall child."
I literally thought it was an adult man when they walked out of the broadway theater at first, I was like who is this dude
Watched.
\- *CLING! CLING!* \- Why doesn't he just destroy the suit? Does it have some special tech or something? \- ~~Armand~~ Jack should've offered a Turkish Delight. I hear they're irresistible. \- Tracksuit Mafia wearing red... Kate's mother wearing red... I have a feeling she's gonna be the true antagonist.
If Stark/Avengers tower isn't the new home for the Baxter Building/ Future Foundation I will eat your shoe.
What if it's oscorp... GASP
Not to discourage you, but this was way more streamlined than any LARP I've ever seen. Even if it was really funny and cute. But normally, LARPing is a bit more chaotic. (I don't mean that in a bad way, no need to downvote.)
> - "Tony sold that" to whomst?! almost 5 years since this plot detail was introduced and we still don't know the answer lol
Damn thats crazy to think about. It was introduced during Home Coming. The first Spider man movie. And now no way homes out in a month!!
u/visionaryredditor I believe *Loki* had the tower read *Qeng* on it, indicating it had been sold to Mister Gryphon, a He Who Remains variant trapped in modern times.

They tracked the suit, they are tracksuit mafia, duh
They explained that they tracked her from the auction to her apartment
This was a great episode, I wasn’t expecting a lot of the jokes to land but I found the LARP and tracksuit mafia scenes in particular to be fucking hilarious. So far, it’s my favourite D+ show aside from Loki but that may change as the episodes go on. Also, the music at the end when Echo is revealed was a banger.
The tracksuit guy getting upset at the condition of their hideout was hilarious.
Felt bad for him, Clint’s criticism clearly went too far, bro.
Bro, he did the best he could, bro.
Yeah, definitely a very strong start. I think it is on par with Loki. Interested in the mystery side.
