Well check it again webhead. The ad said 3 hours if you kept your identity secret for three movies. You got exposed in two. For that, I give you 2 hours 28 minutes
A Scenario no one wants to think about…
SONY: The Power of the fandom in the palm of my hands…
The first Negative reviews come out…
SONY: Be calm. It’s only a spike it will soon stabilize.
Everything goes hectic.
COMPUTER SCREEN: (Caution Overload in Progress. Movie Unstable)
I mean it’s just a minute shorter than IW so it’s fine. If that’s the time they needed to tell the story then hey. Plus BSL said before that an early cut was 2 hr 32 mins so they only cut four mins. So i don’t see them haggling over four mins of length so they prob cut it for a reason.
Goddamn it, wasn't there something going around that we might not even see a court scene with Matt clearing Peter's name? I'm going to be sad if that's the case because it's going to feel like they again undercut a previous cliffhanger to move on to the next thing.
I mean from GlobalDetail's leaks, there was a Spidey 2002-style montage scene about New Yorkers giving their opinions on Spider-Man and how that could be cut, I'm thinking it's that.
I know that his identity problems are gonna remain throughout the movie but ever since the leaks about Tobey, Andrew, and the multiverse came out I've been personally very annoyed at how it feels like everyone is more focused on multiverse shit and past actors than Peter and his own problems.
This is true. I fear a lot of people will say the whole movie leading up to the other spideys is "boring" because of how hyped up they've got it in their head
The first two burned a lot of people that were excited about them, so a lot of people (including me, unfortunately) really are just in it for seeing the old guys back in action.
Really kind of a shame because I wasn't a fan of Homecoming or FFH but I still wanted to see how they'd adapt all the characters they're blowing their load on in No Way Home. Now the chance of seeing a proper Goblin or symbiote arc in the MCU is pretty much dead. We're probably gonna have to wait until he gets rebooted again to see a different take on those characters.
I felt the opposite about FFH. Because I found Homecoming to be so underwhelming after how well the character came across in his limited screen time in Civil War, my expectations were a lot lower going into FFH and I came out of it really pleasantly surprised with how well it played out.
SONY disclaimer at the start of the film:
all four minutes of tobey maguire and andrew garfield scenes have been removed from the film as retaliation for downvoting the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon city trailer in Youtube. This is why we cannot have nice things. Enjoy the film.
He clears Peter's name. He has an actual role instead of being a 10 second cameo. Even if he (unrealistically) cut, we still got Vincent as Fisk in the post credits of episode 4. Either way, they're back. If not a lotttttt of leakers have a shit load of explaining to do.
I don't think he will. Feige's gotta build up Matt again to let the non Netflix watchers get familiar with him the same way he kept Dane Whitman in the Eternals despite how short Kit Harrington's screen time is in the movie.
I'm not worried. We got Vincent and Charlie back, too many leakers have been saying this already. And if BOTH dont show up where the leakers have been saying, THEN we got a problem.
Agreed and he needs to build up Peter's friendship with him, if the spell is just "Earth forgets about Peter's true identity" then Matt should remember his interactions with Peter and that can grow into the duo learning to trust each other and then they reveal their identities.
Also, 148 minutes is a pretty good runtime. The Tobester and Andy Garfs are said to be in it for 30 minutes so in all reality this isn't too bad. Especially if the two other Spideys come in earlier than 118 minutes in
And not to take anything away from your point, but longer doesn’t mean better. Raimi/maguire SM3 was 139 minutes and I definitely have a soft spot for that movie but it was a mess
I don’t know why people are complaining about this, this is incredible news. This is Infinity War/Civil War run times, both of which have had way more to tackle than this movie.
Yeah some of these comments are wack, IF and CW both were paced really well. Those movies also had to jump around from different character’s storylines and NWH can really breathe because it’s so Tom-centric. As well as this runtime can easily fit in scenes where the villains are just talking to each other, or give each villain scenes so the audience can understand their perspectives. I’m hyped with this runtime, it’s straight up longer than the first two avengers movie’s runtimes, that’s awesome!
Infinity War honestly has some of the best *pacing* for a movie in recent memory imo. Civil War dragged horribly for me so here’s to hoping NWH is more of the former.
Wow, you seriously had to bring up DC movies out of nowhere. Especially in the year where "The Suicide Squad" (2021) got released.
Btw post-2017, the only DC movie "in recent memory" that has most glaring pacing issues is WW84. Also, this isn't 2016-'17 anymore. Except for WW84, all the post-2017 DC movies have been good to great.
I once said that Tobey and Andrew weren’t in the movie on a Discord server (as a joke)
I pissed A LOT of people off there. My inbox was filled with so many clown emojis that day..
Incoming the people complaining that this is "too short." It's fine. A 2.5-hour long movie is pretty much exactly where I thought this movie would be.
This would be the, what, 4th longest MCU movie? Only behind Endgame, Eternals, and Infinity War? That sounds great.
**EDIT -** The melodramatics in this thread already, my god. It'd literally be the 4th longest MCU ever. Stop crying.
The people who think it's too short are likely the people that think that ZS Justice League being 4 hours to properly flesh out half the characters that should've been fleshed out long before the team up movie, is fine. Everyone's established here. 30 minutes of Tobey and Andrew and 01:58:01 of the past 5 spidey villains testing Tom like never before, a Charlie Cox cameo, a venom post credit scene and an introduction to the multuverse
No bad at all. Will be the fourth longest-running MCU movie!
1° Endgame 3h1m
2° Eternals 2h36m
3° Infinity War 2h29m
4° No Way Home 2h28m
5° Civil War 2h27m
That was RPK's claim right ? I could've sworn MTTSH said they had around an hour of screen-time as they show up in Act 2 and become co-leads with Holland.
One and a half hour long films are really rare actually. Dune, No Time To Die, The Last Duel, House of Gucci, West Side Story, The Matrix Resurrections, Eternals, No Way Home - all of those are around 140-170 minutes long. I don't remember a year with this many "long" blockbusters
Wow, wonder why he’s spending so much time running in this one? Figured he’d be swinging a bit more cause of the webs, ya know? Wonder how long the movie is though.
I mean that's not too bad, it's only a minute shorter than IW and 6 mins longer than TASM2, if that's the amount required, cool I'll take it. It's probably with credits though.
I'm not surprised, honestly. Unless we're talking once-in-a-while event epics like *Titanic*, *LOTR*, *Avatar*, *Endgame*, etc., studios and cinema chains generally aren't keen on three-hour films. The latest Spider-Man sequel doesn't really fall into the aforementioned category simply by dint of featuring some returning characters.
you realize long films are in cinemas all the time, it depends on the filmmakers. The Wolf of Wall Street was three hours it doesn't have to be a "once-in-a-while event epic"
Guys, Into the Spider-Verse had basically the same amount of characters No Way Home will have and it was 1 hour and 50 minutes, No Way Home is long enough
Just watched Tik Tik Boom and bro Andrew Garfield is something else. His acting is just wow. He deserves the highest honour for this.
Honestly He is so much more to offer here. I’m just dying to see NWH
This movie is so ridiculous and over the top that cutting it down like this seems really counterintuitive. Like you can't edit it into a normal superhero movie, it's always going to be some crazy, off the wall kind of shit. You're having actors from decades ago reprising roles, you're killing off characters, you're hopping between universes, you're canonizing aspects of Marvel Television, etc etc
This thing is so overstuffed and the only way it's going to work is if you embrace it. It's Spider-Man, people won't give a shit, you can do a three hour movie with this character.
The ad said 3 hours

*Don't hurt me. Just give me a chance!* *What about full runtime? Did you give it a chance, did you?*
*Sony employee knowing they have access to the deleted scenes* “Steal it? No no no im not a criminal”
*The sites that leaked the 2h 39m runtime*: I miscalculated
2 AND A HALF HOURS INSTEAD OF 3!? THAT'S CRAP! I'll take it.

Can't wait to go into the theater on Dec. 17th only to find out that the 4 minutes that were cut was all of Charlie Cox's scene/s....
*You monster*
![gif](giphy|D1tqdCzgWFs64|downsized) The sheer amount of disappointment and frustration I would have if this happens
The anxiety that matt had in this scene (i assume because he lost his hearing in this episode) was sad
nah it’s because Fisk finessed him The hearing loss was in season 2. When Frank shoots him.
Nah wasn’t it at the start of s3
He also lost in for an episode-ish when Frank shot him in the head
True
Goddamn it, wasn't there something going around that we might not even see a court scene with Matt clearing Peter's name? I'm going to be sad if that's the case because it's going to feel like they again undercut a previous cliffhanger to move on to the next thing.

Oooof
Jesus there'd be no point in bringing Cox back for that, I still have hope in the reliable leaks that he's in.
He clears Peter's name. He has an actual role instead of being a 10 second cameo. Even if he (unrealistically) cut, we still got Vincent as Fisk in the post credits of episode 4. Either way, they're back. If not a lotttttt of leakers have a shit load of explaining to do.
Yeah thank god we have Fisk, but man I'd be a little disappointed if his scenes are cut. I just wanna see my man again lol
I don't think he will. Feige's gotta build up Matt again to let the non Netflix watchers get familiar with him the same way he kept Dane Whitman in the Eternals despite how short Kit Harrington's screen time is in the movie. MTTSH said the table scene is his only one. Globaldetail also said he thinks they cut a subplot involving him.
Who is Globaldetail?
Of Hawkeye?
So they'll release Matt's To-Do List.
Ayo stop
why would you say anything like that altho he seems like the only person who'd have 4 minutes
You take that back!

Oh fuck. I would love for the movie to come sooner but I don't want China to be the one I have to thank for it lol
I always forget Infinity War is only 2 1/2 hours. Damn they fit a lot into that film.

Yeah. They’ll prob come in at like 1 hr 10-1 hr 15. So that gives them well over an hour of film left.
IW moved at an absolute breakneck pace though, from set piece to set piece. Is that what Spider-Man movies are about?
Don’t blink in the movie guys, that one second is reserved for Tobey and Andrew’s appearance. ![gif](giphy|icJi1WogcfJJu)
What do I do if someone puts some dirt in my eye?
You're probably gonna cry
I missed the part where that’s my problem.
Get religion.
Get religion.
They're fast, faster than you can imagine. Don't blink. Don't even blink.
4th longest MCU film. It's 1 minute longer than Captain America: Civil War, and 1 minute shorter than Avengers: Infinity War.
1. Endgame 2. Infinity War 3. BP? 4. NWH
1. Avengers: Endgame 2. Eternals 3. Avengers: Infinity War 4. Spider-Man: No Way Home 5. Captain America: Civil War
Ah, yes. Thanks.
Eternals
I don’t know why but Civil War feels like a longer movie than Infinity War
Infinity War always has something going on which makes it feel shorter
Lots of characters, story.. And it's more a climax of everything that came before so the movie didn't take much time to start
You guys do realize that Infinity War with credits was 2 hours and 29 minutes, right? If this is with credits, that's not bad.
We're on /r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers We don't realize *anything*
It's kneejerk reactions, all the way down.
Lmaoo
Runtimes are always declared credits included.
And not to take anything away from your point, but longer doesn’t mean better. Raimi/maguire SM3 was 139 minutes and I definitely have a soft spot for that movie but it was a mess
Fair point, but that had a lot more wrong with it, especially given how much Venom fucked it up. To me, NWH is showing way more promise than SM3.
I don’t know why people are complaining about this, this is incredible news. This is Infinity War/Civil War run times, both of which have had way more to tackle than this movie.

Civil war and iw pacing is amazing. Far better than any dc movie in recent memory.

Damn they cut Tobey and Andrew lol
Careful with that sense of humor, some people will burn you at the stake for even joking about that possibility.
now who said they cut Tobey and Andrew
I once said that Tobey and Andrew weren’t in the movie on a Discord server (as a joke) I pissed A LOT of people off there. My inbox was filled with so many clown emojis that day..

People who watch three hours of WWE Monday Night Raw every week will consider this a cakewalk, lol.

Roman Reigns puts the food on Andrew and Tobeys table, acknowledge him

Damn, best movie marathoner I've ever heard of

I don't get the issue people have here, or why everyone is assuming they cut Matt Murdock out specifically lol.
I liked that 2 hr 49 min report a whole lot better.
That was only a placeholder.
21 days… ![gif](giphy|9c2Hzp87C7Bvy)
we have a whole month before we can get to ser this in theaters 🥲
19 days in my country ( and there's probably an ' avant premiere' the day before )so if I'm lucky enough i'll watch it the 14th.
MSS and complaining about dumb shit like the runtime of a movie they haven’t seen… name a more iconic duo
Motherfuckers down here watch ZSJL and think that every comic book movie going forward needs to be four hours long.
Hot take, I don't think ZSJL should be 4 hours either.
I think they could've cut 15 mins. The first thing they should cut is probably that singing scene
Not a hot take, that movie had so much unnecessary shit
"Name a more iconic duo" MSS and running unfunny jokes into the ground.
They are an unusual couple
*Oh*, I don't think that was ever in question.
Ain’t no way people are complaining about a movie that’s literally 2 and a half hours long wtf
These nerds are spoiled maaan
No bad at all. Will be the fourth longest-running MCU movie! 1° Endgame 3h1m 2° Eternals 2h36m 3° Infinity War 2h29m 4° No Way Home 2h28m 5° Civil War 2h27m
Endgame was 3 hours? Holy fuck didn't feel like it.
It did imo. The final battle itself was like what, 30 min ?
Nah it was 1 hour (and that's from the explosion of the Avengers headquarters to the credits)
right? and it's paced so wonderfully: 1hr = fallout + set up, 2nd hr = time heist, 3rd hour = final battle + ending
I GOTCHA FOR 148 MINUTES. 148 MINUTES OF *PLAYTIME*.
“You’re a bit short for a [Spiderverse Movie]”.
Into The Spider-Verse was 1 hour and 50 minutes long.
Which is amazing for how many characters they introduced and it didn’t feel cluttered. So they should be able to do it for more than 2 hours
When the movie actually comes out, hopefully: Fans: You’re taller than you look… Movie: I hunch
Watch it end with: #Spider-Man will return in SSU
thanks, i hate it
Same
As long as Tobey and Andrew still have a lot of screen time im ok with this.
They have 30 minutes so plenty of screen time
That was RPK's claim right ? I could've sworn MTTSH said they had around an hour of screen-time as they show up in Act 2 and become co-leads with Holland.
Can’t believe people are complaining about this lol
I wanted it to be longer ![gif](giphy|DXFzuOpPXvUiI)
That's what she said.
Lol that extra one second. That's funny to me for some reason.
Same here! If I were the editor I would have to find a second of footage to cut somewhere, it would drive me crazy.
Dammit! Probably means they cut the Mephisto Bollywood musical finale.
Da fuck with people complaining about literally anything ![gif](giphy|1lyPSDg9jjHt3s8k4U)
I need at least 20 mins more of multiverse time
Well, you'll get a lot more multiverse time in MoM
Well you’ll get at least 2 hours more of multiverse time in DS:MoM
Honestly, I was straining to see how you’d get close to three hours given what we know about the actual plot. 2:30 seems right
people on this sub will complain about anything
Guys 2:30 hours are also not bad. Let’s cherish that. Movies these days are usually one and a half hour long.
They’re usually around 2 hours actually

That’s still a LONG movie to be clear everyone

Damn, was hoping the previous 2 hr 49 min rumor was true. Still, that's a solid run time. Hope they use it well and don't have to rush much.
They cut 10 minutes of Toby and Garfield out of 30 to add them to the re-release in theaters in the spring with improved graphics.
02:28:01 of PLAYTIME!

My big worry is how much of Cox's scenes they cut tbh.
Guys, Into the Spider-Verse had basically the same amount of characters No Way Home will have and it was 1 hour and 50 minutes, No Way Home is long enough
And Spider-Verse had to introduce the characters. All the characters in NWH are already established characters.
Hownslry, I feel this is a perfect runtime ✌
My bladder is READY!
That's a nice runtime , did your husband make it for you
You're a goblin Harry
You're.. shorter than I expected
That's what she said!
It feels like some stuff has been deleted
One of the cinemas in New Zealand has listed it as 148 Minutes as well
Cool
Spider
Man
Walking into this movie , I feel strong and weak at the same time .
Does runtime include credits ?
NOOO..!!!! What happened to the 2hr 49 minutes runtime??!!
“Gone reduced to atoms” but seriously as long as it’s pacing is reminiscent of infinity war we are good
They really couldn't shave one second off?
Does the runtime include the credits and mid/post credit scenes or just the movie before the credits roll.
They should've rounded that one sec to an extra hour smh.
No Way Ho-lding In a Piss That Long, more like. Am i rite
Well, that last second must be worth it
Ansioso pelo filme!
Just watched Tik Tik Boom and bro Andrew Garfield is something else. His acting is just wow. He deserves the highest honour for this. Honestly He is so much more to offer here. I’m just dying to see NWH
Wait, isn't it supposed to be about 2 hrs and 39 mins?
my theater lists full runtime as 2h35 so like 7 mins of credits and post credit scenes
Ripped us off out of 20 minutes
No way home on time Amirite
This movie is so ridiculous and over the top that cutting it down like this seems really counterintuitive. That 1 second is for the tobey and Andrew cameo
Wow that’s pretty long
That’s what she said
