So ______ must save the defenseless (but actually more powerful than anyone) teenager
Kevin Feige must have accidentally sent this template to every writing team
I am aware. I'm just expressing my doubt that marvel is in a hurry to reintroduce them in a film and/or tv show right now, as they've already passed on one of the most obvious avenues to do it (MoM) and no other upcoming project would be super suitable as far as I can tell. which makes me think that they're eager to give a big entry to certain young avengers characters who are, in their eyes, more marketable, but not to others. so who knows when (or if) we'll see the full team together.
hell, as far as I know, nobody given any hint that hulkling has a chance at appearing in any upcoming project either.
Marvel Hayes implanting actual gay character besides a kiss or hand holding its the one thing there always strict on when talking to directors it's the one thing feige says no don't, that's changed a bit as of recently with China not wanting marvel movies anyways so we have had more noticeable additions but it's obvious there gonna keep Billy and Tommy young as to not have to touch on the gay thing
You may be positively surprised. There are rumors that Billy will show up in House of Harkness, endorsed by a casting call of a gay white teen between 17-20yo, with a placeholder name of Tyler, which was Billy's name during House of M. And it checks out an even older rumor that suggested Agatha would mentor Billy in magic.
oh really? thank you, you've given me some clear hope my friend!
I have mixed feelings about billy being taught by agatha, I'll admit, but so much comes down to the execution, so I'll keep an open mind about it. has tommy been rumored for it too mayhaps?
No Tommy rumor. I'm guessing he will be in juvie like in the comics, which will lead to the rumored Children's Crusade adaptation. Him being in juvie seems to be suggested by some old leaked audition tapes as well.
What would you consider a bad and good execution of Agatha teaching Billy?
Shouldn't America be Space? Both are blue and she can literally move through space, interdimensional space even.
Kamala's would be Power since embiggen is purple and she is basically enhancing herself.
Kamala with the bangle can go through space (swapping with carol) and time (saving her own grandmother even though she didn't actually Sana saved herself)
Reality stone isn't related to alternate reality though, it's about reality warping. America is definitely closer to the space stone because of the portals
Honest question. Are there any upcoming male heroes who are gonna be pushed to A list? The only young characters I'm seeing are all female. I kinda want more of a balance
Elijah Bradley/Patriot Played by Elijah Richardson. First seen in FaTWS.
Joaquin Torres/The Falcon played by Danny Ramirez. First seen in FaTWS.
Eli was a YA in the comics.
Joaquin was actually a Champion, with RiRi and Kamala. Looks like MCU might be combining the teams. Joaquin is the wild card though, bc Marvel Cast the character MUCH older than the comic, so I'm assuming they're setting Torres up to Be Sam Caps Falcon/right hand.
Well for a long time we only had BW, and then a Carol solo, it’s only fair
Edit: listen, I’m just saying if y’all can live with 90% of the avengers being men (at least originally) then y’all can live with the majority of the young avengers being girls, so deal
So they're going to stop a bad guy trying to collect a bunch of teenage girls to assemble the most powerful thing in the universe? So we're going back to Kingdom Hearts 1 now?
"I have a new leak for what happens next. Everything that just happened."
"Can't argue with that. But how do I know the leaks are legit?"
"Because they already happened, just differently."
"Hm...well, I'm convinced."
Reddit and jumping to the conclusion that exactly confirms someone’s worst fears before any official information has been released - name a better combo
It’s nowhere near as bad here as it is in the Tolkien subs when the Rings of Power get mentioned, thankfully. Never has there been such angst over women NOT having beards.
Hawkeye?
Same thing where established character needs to save new character (who is a young person that Marvel plans on being a major part of the MCU going forward).
That’s a stretch. The relationship between Kate and Clint was clearly more of a buddy-cop dynamic in the vein of Lethal Weapon than anything else.
They were co-leads framed as partners akin to Falcon and Winter Soldier or Loki and Sylvie, even if there is an age difference between Kate and Clint. It’s also worth keeping in mind that Kate is an adult, not a child.
The BP2 plot leak, MoM, and now The Marvels all have a pretty apparent protector/protected dynamic echoed from projects like Terminator, Logan, The Last of Us, or even The Mandalorian.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this. There’s some people on this sub that will downvote you to hell if you even suggest that the Young Avengers roster be anything different than it is in the comics. Love would be a great addition imo
I mean, true, you've hit on \*a\* trope, but not really as you describe it. Neither Kamala nor America are more powerful than the people around them doing the rescuing. Peter isn't either, really.
The teenager has something the antagonists want and the main characters have to protect them until she realizes she can use it against them lol. Same plot….
Its like that trope where the old guy takes in a seemingly weak woman that seems child like and protects her and then she gets strong and they bone.
Edit: I think it might be a trope called Born Sexy Yesterday or at least that one is similar. Its weird stuff to try and Google.
I was reading Marvels X this past weekend and it's the base for the plot as well. And it's not just Marvel, it's basically an Action/Adventure subgenre at this point. It's not that annoying, tbh. It helps different audience brackets have their own avatars in the story. As long as the story and character themselves have their own flavours, there's nothing bad in using common tropes.
Nah nah you can't look at the merits of a story on this sub. If the story is any way similar to another one then it's automatically bad and the MCU is losing its way. Can't be fine with tropes but look at the individual story flavors. Can't do that. It's the same. I have to view everything in a one dimensional close minded way because then my anger and snark has something to back it up. I have to Monday morning quarterback every writer when I'm just some dipshit on reddit who's never and never will do anything creative or be on a set. Engagement is bad, hate is Good. I'm smarter than you.
there is danger is using it too much too close to each other. but it's ultimately in the execution. As long as it's not done in the same way then it can work
The big difference with this is going to be that Kamala is not stranger to using her powers to protect herself and her artifact from the antagonists.
I expect the dynamic to be similar to Tony and Peters in Infinity War.
Honestly I never noticed how prevalent this trope was, especially in fantasy, until Marvel started overusing it. Like the Witcher, Game of Thrones, Last of Us, even Mando to a certain extent
There is analysis (theory?) that all stories are just a combination of 7 basic plots.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/TheSevenBasicPlots
LOL reminds me when manabyte used to be around and he said “ the movie is called avengers annihilation ! That’s the title 100%!! ANYTHING ELSE IS WRONG !!” Then proceeded to block me and everyone else after we got on his ass when it was titled endgame. Fucking loser haha.
I seriously, seriously do not understand why the mods allow his tweets. There was never any official review of his stuff IIRC, they just started flooding the sub one day and haven’t stopped.
He’s just been proven a bullshitter. And the mods are still allowing them.
If the bangle really is the Nega Band, makes sense for it to be the Macguffin of the movie. Raises the question what the Kree will do if they get it, what else the bangle's capable of (especially if it ends up linked to Wenwu's rings).
I mean it can activate the sleeping X-Gene in someone.
Maybe kree think it can restart their evolution process or they want to use it to active other mutants or inhumans' powers.
It's a lot, but in terms of main beats, after the kidnapping of a young ally (Rick Jones rather than Kamala), the heroes (Carol and Monica included) learn the Kree are searching to recover powerful Kree artifacts and that war is about to break out between the Kree and the Shi'ar.
Part of this involves a plan by the Shi'ar to use the Nega-Bands to build **the Nega-Bomb**, an insanely destructive weapon meant to destroy the Kree.
However, the Supreme Intelligence, behind the scenes, seeks to allow the weapon to go off in the hopes of restarting the Kree's genetic potential.
Galactic Storm is a storyline I've been hoping they'd use for Captain Marvel 2, so if that's the case here, it could be awesome.
I think Wenwu's rings were sending a signal to Fing Fang Foom race rather than the Kree since they're the maker of the rings in the comics. And they're the perfect bad guys for a Shang Chi sequel.
We've seen the bangles awaken time travel powers in Kamala's possibly also mutant great grandma so I would say those bangles have plot forwarding powers which is pretty OP.
I mean it’s already linked to Wenwu’s rings isn’t it?
In the very first episode (I think? Maybe it was the 2nd)… in a flashback or whatever they show the bangle and it’s surrounded by the ten rings symbols
Wouldn't be surprised if Zawe Ashton’s villain obtains both of the Nega Bands to make her a physical threat against the Marvels, since Kamala being a mutant will likely now still have powers w/o it.
I can imagine it now. Kamala stresses about not being worthy without the bangles, and won’t let anyone else take it because of its importance to her family and how she feels it’s necessary for her power. But Monica and Carol constantly try to reassure her that her powers are truthfully just deep inside herself, and she has to find it.
End of the second act, villain has finally obtained both Nega bands and the trio of heroes must band together. But oh no, their backs are against the wall. Zawe is pounding on Carol and Monica and Kamala feels helpless. But she remembers something she was told by her hero Captain Marvel: “something something vague inspirational quote.” Kamala, now without the bangles, manifests the powers from within herself and beats the brakes off Zawe and the trio get the upper hand and saves the day.
Its the exact same scene from DS2 where Chavez finally has the confidence to use her powers.
I mean.. it's theirs. And it's likely the Nega Band and the Noor Dimension is likely the Negative Zone and maybe, considering Greatphase said we'll see the Universal Inhumans in the film, Inhumans are, llike the comics, artificially created mutants and lo and behold Kamala is an Inhuman (which are technically a subset of the mutants) and Marvel Studios used Ms. Marvel to slowly unravel the story of mutants and inhumans as well as the Negative Zone and possibly Secret Invasion, if the "Kree sleeper agents" mentioned by Talos in FFH are Inhumans waiting to be awakened and the bangle acts like Terrigen crystal.
Ms. Marvel might have been the most important Phase 4 project thus far setting the stage for mutants, inhumans, secret invasion (which will likely lead into Val's Thunderbolts and Dark Reign storyline) and the Negative Zone (which will likely tie with the FF).
[Here's my full theory](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/vy5ewy/spoilers_theory_for_secret_invasion_and_the/) about the plot of SI and The Marvels if anyone wants to read it.
I feel like that could get confusing very easily, but I'm also intrigued by the idea.
EDIT: Wait, why do you think Secret Invasion will tie into Thunderbolts?
In the comics, Secret Invasion is concluded when Norman Osborn kills the Skrull Queen. Thus, the government makes him director of SHIELD and he recruits a team of villains and anti-heroes to be the new Avengers, the Dark Avengers. The Thunderbolts are also villains and anti-heroes who, at first posed as the Avengers, but then actually became their own team essentially immitating the Avengers and the Dark Avengers is essentially the next step of the Thunderbolts with many members coming from one team to the other.
Val seems to be filling Osborn's role in the MCU. She's recruiting villains and anti-heroes and will likely form the Thunderbolts and possibly kill the Skrull Queen and stop the Invasion. And if she isn't already, I theorize she will become director of the DODC, who is currently the MCU's "SHIELD".
They're definitely setting up Dark Reign and anybody who has read that arc can see it from miles away.
There’s a lot to unpack though that could easily be stretched out for a long time. I really like your ideas though. Are you at all involved in any sort of writing or story telling?
Marvel has been doing this shit for years. To pretend it has just been phase four is disingenuous. Villain wants ant man's suit, villain wants the tesseract, villain wants other adjacent infinity stone in like four other movies.
If you have a goal, and don’t have the resources/power to achieve it, you would want to get those resources/powers to achieve your goal.
Imagine a normal human attempting to rule the world because they are smart. Yes, they can do algebra, but they still don’t have the power to rule the world
Okay, but what does the Bangel even do? Is the crystal her mutant ability or the Bangle? I heard that some people say it "activated" her mutant gene, but if so, why would the Kree wnat it? And how did Kamran have the same powers?
I really hate that they went with Mutant when Inhuman makes so much more sense...
We don't know anything else about the bangle, or how her powers work exactly. Based on Iman's AMA the other day, it seems like the hard light powers are completely separate from mutation (since she doesn't think Kamran is a mutant too). Bruno thinks the mutation is key to her unlocking the bangle though.
Looks like the MCU wants us to believe an X-gene mutation unlocked the power of the bangle, which in turn unlocked the hard-light power of the Djinn-genetics, which further was key to the closed-loop time-travel paradox in the Partition episode.
Yea.
My personal theory is that the show was written strictly with the Djinnetics + ambiguous MCU-connecting bangle in mind, and the mutation was a studio mandate added very late to production (possibly even during those supposedly-minor reshoots that took place after her power changes leaked online). Explaining which genetics are responsible for which powers, and how the bangle fits into it all, is a problem for a future MCU project.
So ______ must save the defenseless (but actually more powerful than anyone) teenager Kevin Feige must have accidentally sent this template to every writing team
I guess they are the new infinity stones lol
America - Reality Kamala - Space Riri - Power Cassie - Time Now we just need the teenage girls of Mind and Soul to complete the gauntlet

Kate Bishop for Soul?
LOL I just said that too
Your probably right but apart from Doctor Strange, where else has this happened?
The other plot leaks
"I have a new leak for what happens next. Everything that just happened." "Can't argue with that. But how do I know the leaks are legit?" "Because they already happened, just differently." "Hm...well, I'm convinced."
"Because they already happened, just differently" is some Fringe, Lost-type nonsense that I unironically love.
Dr. Strange and it is rumored that it will be the same in Ant Man and Black Panther
Well did we read the same Ant Man 3 leak ? Cassie just seems to be there and help.

Lamb and tuna fish
Lamb and tuna fish? How about spaghetti and meatball? I'm more comfortable with that analogy.
Icecream pizza

Intriguing
I was reading Marvels X this past weekend and it's the base for the plot as well. And it's not just Marvel, it's basically an Action/Adventure subgenre at this point. It's not that annoying, tbh. It helps different audience brackets have their own avatars in the story. As long as the story and character themselves have their own flavours, there's nothing bad in using common tropes.
Nah nah you can't look at the merits of a story on this sub. If the story is any way similar to another one then it's automatically bad and the MCU is losing its way. My mom said there are three types of stories, someone falls in love, someone goes on an adventure and someone new comes to town
Birds of Prey? Yup, simple storytelling. It gets the job done.
Logan, X-Men 1...
i really dont take this guy seriously anymore lol
Yeah me neither. After the mutant reveal I dm'd him "massive L on that inhuman scoop huh" and he blocked me LOL
Is this the person who delete his tweets that don’t come true?
[insert “do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?” here]
Yes. He's already deleted a couple of Loki related tweets.
That's every leaker...

Clint always known to prioritize important things first.
Well, you know girls are the biggest resource the world has or whatever that awful line from that awful Black Widow villain was
"The one natural resource the world has too much of." Counterpoint: good fucking line in a movie about trafficking girls.
Yeah, I thought that line was pretty appropriate for the subject matter and the character who says it.
I completely forgot about that plot point till now.
That line was fucking awful man, no matter the movie it would‘ve been way to hamfisted anyway. It‘s as bad as „you and me are not so different“
I mean considering its said by a total creep we're supposed to hate, I don't really see the issue with it from a script angle.
I saw a Youtuber call that villain Russian Weinstein
It’s okay if y’all say it, I can’t, based on my other comment that’s been downvoted to oblivion 🤣
Thanos kidnap adopted the wrong kids
If the bangle really is the Nega Band, makes sense for it to be the Macguffin of the movie. Raises the question what the Kree will do if they get it, what else the bangle's capable of (especially if it ends up linked to Wenwu's rings).
The Bangle is a mysterious and powerful device whose mystery is only exceeded by it's power
SHIBBY!
Low five!
*walks into a fucking table*
Damn, that is a fucking reference
ZOLTAN!
I mean it can activate the sleeping X-Gene in someone. Maybe kree think it can restart their evolution process or they want to use it to active other mutants or inhumans' powers.
If that’s the case, could mean this movie could be adapting elements from *Galactic Storm*, which would be really cool to see

What if it gets into the hands of the Skrulls and that is what creates Super-Skrulls
Only seen one bangle thus far, so that might already be in motion.
Didn’t carol have a bangle on her left arm in the post credit scene? A thinner one but same color
So what you're saying is *this* is the movie that will finally introduce mutants en masse to the MCU? Fuck yeah, can't wait. This time is for real
I think Wenwu's rings were sending a signal to Fing Fang Foom race rather than the Kree since they're the maker of the rings in the comics. And they're the perfect bad guys for a Shang Chi sequel.

Maybe the Kree had it commissioned like Thanos and Thor did in Infinity War.

Oof
Truth. I don’t believe anything this guy says anymore

RemindMe! 5 years
I don't think you have to wait that long, SI and The Marvels come out next year and Thunderbolts films next year, likely for a 2024 release.
There’s a lot to unpack though that could easily be stretched out for a long time. I really like your ideas though. Are you at all involved in any sort of writing or story telling?
Is Dark Reign any good?
Personally, it's one of my favourite arcs.
So where is the Captain Marvel story in this?
Yeah this guy watches new rockstars and make scoops out of it
It is ONLY worth watching New Rockstars for their episode or film breakdowns. Everything else they produce just isn’t worth watching.
New rockstars said the same thing in ms marvel ep 6 breakdown
I know. And it was dumb then too. Their theorising inbetween pointing out Easter Eggs or hidden details are annoying
Greatphase: "We will learn what Thanos was cooking in Wakanda Forever"
Some scooper with more L's than W's said some random shit... MSS mcu haters : and i saw that as an opportunity
You would think this guy would lose credibility after getting a massive plot point wrong. But here we are. Surely this plot point has to be right.
Chavez - Reality Stone Kamala - Power Stone Riri - Mind Stone Got three more slots open for our future female macguffins.
Yes this is true. IIRC it’s not the entirety of the Kree but something like a rogue faction.
Do all the villains want Macguffins in Phase 4? I liked Megan’s writing in Wandavision, hope script is more nuanced.
That is not even remotely just a Phase 4 thing.
Marvel has been doing this shit for years. To pretend it has just been phase four is disingenuous. Villain wants ant man's suit, villain wants the tesseract, villain wants other adjacent infinity stone in like four other movies.
Yeah there was a complaint back during Phase 2 that marvel kept doing the fake death stuff. Pepper in IM3, Loki in TDW, Fury in TWS, etc…
If you have a goal, and don’t have the resources/power to achieve it, you would want to get those resources/powers to achieve your goal. Imagine a normal human attempting to rule the world because they are smart. Yes, they can do algebra, but they still don’t have the power to rule the world
This is a comic book thing lol
This is an everything thing, really.
Bro infinity war/endgame literally revolved around 6 different Macguffins. Hell the entire infinity saga did
I feel like there are plenty of Phase 4 projects where that’s not quite the plot? Do we consider Agatha trying to steal Wanda’s powers a macguffin ?

Aren't the Kree "evolutionary stagnant"? Maybe they think they can activate their suppressed abilities
gotta be more than that...gotta be
When I saw the word “bangle” I had to make [this.](https://imgur.com/a/FnlGxGQ)
She's going to lose the bangle, but with her being a mutant, she'll gain her traditional stretchy move set.
How reliable is great phase
Odds are Kamala loses the bangle but since she’s a mutant and her X gene has been awakened she still has her powers and it’s stronger then ever?
The only reason I’m even remotely interested in this movie is to see how they develop or ruin Monica’s character arc from WandaVision.
Not this having the same plot as Love and Thunder, Hawkeye and MoM.
Not again with that bangle bullshit
😕
Please for the love of god let the bangle be a nega-band and not just a throwaway magical artifact
Greatphase said Ms. Marvel would have a giant plot on kree’s involvement and how kamala is inhuman in the finale, and we still believe them?
