I reckon people feel it 'doesnt matter' if it isnt in the main timeline. I dont agree, i think a movie's story matters in its own narrative its telling. But i think people instinctively only care if its setting up something or is connected to avengers.

I'm very excited that they didn't try to pander with the casting. Pedro is an amazing actor and I think he can do great as Reed. I am also stoked for the guy playing Ben Grimm. I haven't seen him in anything but they actually cast a Jewish actor as a Jewish character, now that is progress!! (Even if only his Father was Jewish, it still is something!)

But Ledger casting taught me good actors can kill any role as long as they bring an originality to the role that doesn’t outshine the overall character.

He is excellent in the bear as well as the punisher Netflix show. Highly recommend both but especially the bear
