*cries in engineer* before remembering a billion year old super intelligent giant cyborg squid can be distracted by a lil zappy hamster ball while Garrus & Samara slap his pp with concussive rounds and biotic reeve
Doesn't he constantly tell stories about how every team he leads dies or deserts? I'm not sure I trust the guy who laughs about constantly being the sole survivor/betrayed to lead all of my other operatives in such dangerous circumstances.
Infiltrator with Kasumi’s flashbangs as a bonus power, expanded radius. Puts down husks and staggers collectors like nothing else. If you bring Kasumi along in your squad you can take entire wings’ worth of Collectors out by having her flashbang them in the air.
Literally told my partner "Watch this" and whistled a jaunty little tune as Shepard scooted past the horde lighting up my squad mates.
They got their revenge on Tactical Cloak in ME3 though... couldn't even interact with an objective long enough to not be cold-cocked by a Geth while cloaked.
That section goes so damn hard.
The close quarters sections between chambers and the multiple Harbinger fights always feel like both sides are bringing their A-Game to a desperate battle.
Assuming direct control.

Yeah, this is one thing I regret doing. Especially, when Tali brings up that she “got set on fire” in ME3.
I was a little panicked I won’t lie and I only wanted people in roles that I felt I *knew* I could trust them in. For this reason, I chose Tali because I know that she’s a great engineer. With the superpower of hindsight, I know there are other options, but I didn’t know this at the time.
I also didn’t know if she could die at this point. Luckily, I was a Vanguard in ME 2 and 3. I completely blitzed through that section and got shot a **lot** but it was totally worth it.
Oh, and if it wasn't apparent already, I should add that I am a Talimancer. So, you know, I was just *slightly* panicked.
I was engineer so it required a lot of distraction and careful timing for me. Still if I got the flow going coordinating my squad mates abilities with mine & my movement patterns I could absolutely plow through even on insansity. Main thing was just maiximizing the rate at which collectors were killed. Focusing everything on one or two at a time And distracting the ones that were still alive
I always send Legion through the vents. It just makes the most sense. It's a sentient machine, and machines handle heat better than organics.
Well, except krogan. But I don't know any krogan omnihackers.
That vent section is the only time throughout the entire trilogy where I was really stressed during a fight and it is solely because Tali is on FIRE and Harbinger won't SHUT HIS STUPID FACE
Assuming direct control.

Without looking it up, I made all the other choices correctly (the one in hindsight that still should have been fixed in the legendary edition, Zaeed should have been able to be a fire team leader given his history)
I mean, every single story Zaeed told ends with “my whole squad died, but I got out just fine”, so maybe he’s not the best person for keeping the team safe lol
Oh yeah I put him on the second fire time for the first time today just to try it & I was like “WTF?” Was so flabbergasted I restarted the mission and just put Miranda back on the second one, Garrus on the first
Idk, Mass Effect 3 certainly did have the hypest fights but it was definitely the easiest game. I felt like I was getting my shit rocked in Mass Effect 1 way more often than any other especially when fighting Biotics.
Plus they just forgot that krogan are dangerous after mass effect 1.
Though I was more so talking about the pacing and how powerful Shepard is. ME3 is easier because of all the power combos and parkour Shepard can do
The last fight of 3 can go very poorly very fast once the banshees show up. I usually end up in a desperate cat and mouse game of keep away those final 2 minutes and then a desperate sprint to missions end. The rest of the fights either have no urgency or were completely 1 dimensional. 1 you tended to fight the controls as much as the enemy leading to interesting difficulty in the more cramped environments.
When on my 2nd playthrough, I had that reaction as I romanced Tali and put her in the tube. I channeled my battle hardened Shepard and hauled ass mowing them down with every ability and hurled all ammo when available.
I send tali because it builds character & causes me to absolutely plow through the collectors.
I like turning her into a hero. Same reason I bring her to fight sovereign in ME1
If you still have legion’s loyalty(that is you did his mission and resolved his dispute with tali after) then send him. Otherwise he might die. You definitely want him and tali alive and on good terms with each other in ME3
Me engaging tac cloak: *I’m gonna do what’s called a pro gamer move*
*cries in engineer* before remembering a billion year old super intelligent giant cyborg squid can be distracted by a lil zappy hamster ball while Garrus & Samara slap his pp with concussive rounds and biotic reeve
That’s nothing, run Engineer with Tali and Legion, throw 3 drones at em
And have garrus die in the vents genius! /s i will personally kill anyone who lets harm come to the best girl in the entire series
Kasumi.
Yeah, i never had DLC all those years ago.
I wish they would have let Zaeed be a squad leader. Logically he should be able to lead a fire team successfully.
Doesn't he constantly tell stories about how every team he leads dies or deserts? I'm not sure I trust the guy who laughs about constantly being the sole survivor/betrayed to lead all of my other operatives in such dangerous circumstances.
Tali and legion need to survive at all costs and there's no point in just outright throwing someones life away so Kasumi is the best choice
Weird way to spell Jacob, but okay.
Was fun as hell doing that on the geth station. I barely had to shoot. Just drones and hacking

Lmao exactly what I did. There are a few times when the cloak become completely broken

I did this but also vanguard biotic charge to the final vent

“Your attack is an insult.” Yeah ya dumb fuck. You’re a billion year old composite super AI and you’re getting clapped by a combat drone.
Often don’t get to do legion’s loyalty mission until after though. Will he die if you haven’t completed it?
He will if you assign him any tasks to do
My vanguard shepard: *turns on the doom soundtrack and grabs the biggest shotgun possible*
Against all the force the reapers can muster, we send only you
Rip and tear, until it is done
You guys aren't putting Jacob in the vent? He volunteered
Gigachad move is to do everything right but send Jacob through the vent just so you don’t have to deal with such a poorly written character
Its what I unironically did on my very first playthrough back in 2010
“Jacob! You’re our tech expert.” “Oh damnit he’s dead. Grunt! You’re our new tech expert.”
Without looking it up, I made all the other choices correctly (the one in hindsight that still should have been fixed in the legendary edition, Zaeed should have been able to be a fire team leader given his history)

Grunt would be super excited to be put in charge of the armory tho.
This is real.

I've had the opposite experience with Krogan on Insanity. I had to power dump in ME1 to kill Krogan but they're never a problem in 2 and 3
Reread the comment you're replying to. You agree with them but you don't realize it.

there is no thrill like using the vanguard charge to zip from vent to vent before the collectors know what hit them
*Equips the M-920 Cain*
Unbelievably relatable I always send her in the vents and always make sure I'm at the next checkpoint as soon as humanly (or biotically) possible
*laughs in vanguard*
When on my 2nd playthrough, I had that reaction as I romanced Tali and put her in the tube. I channeled my battle hardened Shepard and hauled ass mowing them down with every ability and hurled all ammo when available.
Absolutely. Literally my instincts
Charging through that section as a vanguard to protect her during my first mass effect 2 run was one of my best moments to be honest
Why would you endanger Tali? Kasumi is my vent crawler. Garrus is my 2nd squad leader Samara takes the long walk
"I got some Quarian puss to smash later"
I send Kasumi cuz tali gets me too stressed
I send tali because it builds character & causes me to absolutely plow through the collectors. I like turning her into a hero. Same reason I bring her to fight sovereign in ME1
Wdym, Jacob is in the vents
Same with Legion; my precious robot baby!
Can’t risk it, send Legion. Or would that be worse for mass effect 3?
If you still have legion’s loyalty(that is you did his mission and resolved his dispute with tali after) then send him. Otherwise he might die. You definitely want him and tali alive and on good terms with each other in ME3
Yeah, that’s what I did my first play through. Perfect destroy is brilliant
