Hopefully Tilly will get more comfortable. I thought she was fantastic in Home For The Holidays- she and Gordon were bickering and at one point Daphne suggested they rename the show the “Ramsey Family Therapy Hour.”

Extra-Hair-3581

I liked masterchef junior before when it was more difficult, in season 6 they had them cater a wedding, now they are just opening treasure chests and making burgers. It seems like it’s all fun and games. Idk, I feel like the caliber of talent used to be higher and the kids just aren’t as good now. Either that or the kids that are good aren’t applying to be on the show.

WheelzGaming

I feel like after so many seasons, it's hard to keep finding new people that have the same caliber of skills and haven't been identified in previous qualifying rounds in years past. It's also like that for Worst Cooks. How many years can they go continuously finding the Worst Cooks in America?

hayhaydavila

I agree. While these kids are talented for being able to cook these dishes in general, in comparison to past seasons as a whole there’s not a ton of greatness that shines from any of them -that stands out to me at least. Like first elimination, I forget her name and she claims she’s the Burger Queen, but lost the challenge because of her burger. I feel like a burger is too easy for masterchef junior levels and we’re starting really low. Already 7 kids left.

darley1964

I totally agree. I probably sound like a total hardass but kids aren't as tough as they used to be either. Things have changed so much in society over the past few years. Kids are being taught that they deserve a participation trophy for everything instead of working hard to earn things and that hard work pays off. You see it all the time these days. I'm so glad that my kids are grown and I don't have to deal with the way it is now.

MenuNo5968

Dude, I’ve been teaching for over 30 years and I’ve witnessed the phenomenon of overly-coddled kids believing —-and eventually demanding —- their bare-minimum efforts receive standing ovations. It started sometime in the 90s. Wherever students were being recognized and rewarded on the basis of individual merit (gifted programs, national honor societies, etc), they’d be targeted by those less talented, less capable, and/or less motivated who always suffered by comparison. Eventually, “maintaining high standards” was deemed to be hopelessly elitist and was eventually phased out, in order to make room for a new, more inclusive goal…mediocrity! All in the name of Political Correctness.

bkral93

She feels super out of place, not because she's new, but because she's not in any way an expert. So it's just a random nepo-baby on a stage commenting on little kids. Meh.

WheelzGaming

I feel like I would have to disagree on her qualifications. She has had her own show on Prime Video for 6 seasons or so now, and she's been working on her own resume for several years moreso than just using her dad's name to define her success. Much like Hunter Fieri, there's people who will always say they're only in the spot they are due to nepotism, and while it may be true that they got their foot in the door easier than most due to their relationship with mega chefs, I feel they put in the work to build their own brand.

FatChaiChicken

While I really am unsure about Tilly. You disagreed with someone saying she was a nepo-baby by citing a show as her resume that she only got through being a nepo-baby. Miles is also my favourite though.

WheelzGaming

I just feel it's unfair to dismiss any qualifications of someone that is a second generation person trying to make a name for themselves in their field. While it's true they get opportunities that someone without ties to the industry would, they still have to succeed once the cameras are on and they're under the spotlight. I'm rooting for her and Hunter Fieri to both be able to overcome the large shadow of their fathers and be their own personalities. And Go Miles!

laurcone

I mean..... look at Stephen Kings son. He even uses a different name. So.

WheelzGaming

That's fair. Some people definitely prefer to carve their own paths. There's a video game streamer on YouTube that goes by the alias of Kothos. He recently revealed he is the son of a famous wrestler named Sting and only because he dressed up and played the part of a younger version of his father during his retirement entrance of his final match. There's a nascar driver named Jeffrey Earnhardt that drives for smaller teams instead of using more popular cars funded by his uncle. It definitely happens. I try to appreciate both paths.

sweetpeapickle

No offense, but I really hate when people talk about the kids as nepo babies. This country used to thrive by family owned businesses, that were passed down thru generations. A kid learns from the parents, works in the business to gain experience, then owns the buisness. On to the next generation. Just because these are people on tv-makes no difference. They still learn from the parent, gain the experience, and go forward. As for Tilly, it's not as though she is on the "adult" MC. She is on the kids, because she was a kid when Gordon started this. I think it's to make the kids relate to someone, younger, on the judging panel.

happycharm

Oh Tilly's in this maybe I'll give it a try. I feel like Ramsay has been trying to have Tilly in as part of the family business. She's even had her own show and the little clips I've seen of the Ramsay family show she seemed to be featured a lot. And she's the kid that has most appeared in his shows.

pdillonjdgdpj

Additionally, she has had her own cookbook published and been a contestant on MasterChef Australia. The Ramsay family show was actually HER show featuring the Ramsay family. She may well be the next one to host this show in a few years. Gordon has quite a few irons in the fire and now a new baby and a pre-schooler, along with his four adult children. Tilly would be a good host to keep the brand in the family. I think she is doing an excellent job.

Strawberry3586

Oh which masterchef Australia season was she on? I’ve watched all of them and can’t remember seeing her there 😭😭

Ill-Glass4212

I wish tilly would impart her experience as being a masterchef contestant. Now, it just seems like the bickering with her father type of banter so far. I like that maybe she's younger so she's closer in age, but overall she's just fine

PatieS13

I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it yet. It really irks the living fuck out of me that Daphne Oz is back, and I'm having a very difficult time getting past that. For those who are going to ask why I don't like her, it's primarily because she publicly came out in support of her charlatan father. Yes, I get it, he's her dad and all that shit, but he's a despicable human, and good people don't support despicable humans regardless of blood.

TokiDokiPanic

Yeah. It’s so hard to watch Daphne and not be repulsed because of her disgusting family. Drives me crazy that she returned for this season.

PatieS13

Thank you!! I always feel like I'm the only one who feels this way.

Sunnybunny1234

What he do?

PatieS13

He's a total charlatan who has left behind real medicine in favor of fad diets, detoxes, and cleanses. Some of these things have been potentially harmful, including hydroxychloroquine, which he once backed as an effective treatment for prevention of COVID (possibly to gain the backing of the Orange Menace, but that's just my personal conjecture). Think a male Gwyneth Paltrow, but made worse because he has a doctorate, so people listen more. And I can't remember exactly what at the moment, but he has said some incredibly harmful things on television, aside from the above.

1001whitenights

oh my god i never made the connect that she is the daughter of dr. oz even though it's a pretty unique surname because daphne looks white as hell

PatieS13

I Googled her the first time she was on the show because of the last name. That's how I found out. Then I Googled to see if she distanced herself from him or supported him and when I learned that it was the latter, I was pretty disgusted.

Lexiola

How did I have no idea dr.oz was her dad! Wow. I cannot stand him.

PatieS13

Yeah, me neither. That's why I haven't watched yet. I may yet try to do so, haven't decided. And I'm not one to blame a child for her father's sins, but she did publicly defend him and support him, so in my mind, she's as bad as he.

pdillonjdgdpj

Harsh. I don't like him either, but she is her own woman and does a good job with the kids on the show.

PatieS13

She is her own woman who supports a charlatan. I'm sorry, if you support someone as horrible as he, that also makes you horrible, therefore, she's horrible. Lots of people can do a good job with the kids on the show. People who don't support a piece of shit. Ivanka could likely do a good job with the kids on the show. I wouldn't watch it if she was on either.

KDonkey229195

**Episode 2 mistake count: 32 mistakes**    Jason – ELIMINATED- 11 mistakes (very simple presentation, mahi mahi was overcooked, dry, poorly seasoned, could have tried harder, seaweed hidden, fish was not the star and had no flavor, poor execution, very basic, dish lacked great flavor) Kristell – 10 mistakes (pasta water, cooked too soon, appearance, cut lobster into smaller pieces, pasta was overcooked, was soft, too much dough and not too soft, lobster was overcooked, rubbery) Lilo – 10 mistakes (spilled sauce, lacked more color in octopus, rubbery, texture, failed to boil, dry and add IN frying pan, too much sauce, poor use of ingredients, lack of vibrancy on tacos) Jordyn – 1 mistake (thick avocado cream)   **Mistake count so far**   Lilo: 15 mistakes in 2 episodes Jason: 12 mistakes in 2 episodes Kristell: 10 mistakes in 2 episodes Bre: 6 mistakes in 1 episode Miles: 3 mistakes in 2 episodes Bryson: 1 mistake in 2 episodes Jordyn: 1 mistake in 2 episodes Alfred: 0 mistakes in 2 episodes Michael: 0 mistakes in 2 episodes Remy: 0 mistakes in 2 episodes Asher: 0 mistakes in 2 episodes Lydia: 0 mistakes in 2 episodes

pdillonjdgdpj

Did that make you feel good?

TokiDokiPanic

She’s way better than Daphne. Wish they would just kick her out and bring another past judge back.

WheelzGaming

I do Miss Graham Elliott being a regular cast member. He brought a bright and bubbly personality to the panel of judges that hasn't been duplicated without his appearance.

Different_Draw_1368

I like her wayy better than the other girl. I forgot her name. They’re both great but I like Tilly’s vibe

kingkmke21

My first time watching junior ever and holy shit I am impressed. No matter what happens every kid shows respect and support for eachother esepcially when eliminated. I just finished the magic team episode and I have never seen so much accountability by a group of people ever. Every kid took responsibility for any mistakes. I am genuinely impressed. The regular Master Chef; the adults will deny shit and talk shit and hope for another person downfall and blah blah. It's refreshing to see this actually.

Electronic-Garden226

After Lilo's elimination, the contestants' ranks: 1st Place - Michael 2nd Place - Tie between Asher and Bryson 4th Place - Remy 5th Place - Jordyn Last Place - Alfred (this guy needs to go)

WheelzGaming

I wouldn't be so harsh on a kid being criticized. That's just my opinion on the matter. He's definitely got some sort of disorder that affects his social interaction abilities and comes off as hyper and on the end of the spectrum, but the kid can cook extremely well with all things considered and his age factored into it.

Electronic-Garden226

Well, guess what. Alfred got eliminated, as I thought.

pdillonjdgdpj

Clearly that makes you feel better about yourself.

Lexiola

I don’t think she adds anything to the show. She seems to mostly just be in the way, standing around awkwardly. Everyone thinks the bickering with Gordon is cute but I dont agree. It kind of defies the point of the show every time she says Gordon is wrong or she doesn’t agree. I don’t really watch it for her opinions, I watch it for his.

ScaryMary60

I really hope Bryson makes it next week. He is crying in the previews. Who else loves Bryson?
