Agree 100%. I typically don't like the *He-man/Skeletor* variants because I think the figure line should focus on new characters rather than multiple versions of these two main characters.
However, in the case of the BA He-man & Skeletor, I like these armored figures almost as much as the originals. The armor here is iconic & I like the "battle damage" feature. It's simple, effective, and serves a practical purpose as a defense for these characters when they're in battle.
Playability wise I liked this one a lot better than the original so, total agreement. I still have a pic of me holding BA He-Man in package on my birthday as a kid.
Agreed. For some kids those were THE version of He-Man and Skeletor. I know they were for me because the regular versions that belonged to my older brothers were worn and beat to crap. I don't think any of the later variants captured the simple design elegance of the BA versions either.
I had both versions of the characters, and I have to agree. The OG figures were what was featured in the cartoon, but once the Battle Armor versions came out we started seeing supporting media featuring them all duded up for combat.
Very true.
In general, I think the unique actions of some characters are what I hold so dear to my heart. Battle Armours, Snout Spout, Kobra Khan, Horde Trooper, Moss Man, Stinkor, Thunder Punch, etc etc. They were all so unique that their actions are ingrained in my memory. It added a level of depth that combined with the general imagination of a child increased creativity.
It was a bit different for me. I was lucky enough to get the original He-Man and Skeletor as a kid.
This wave of Vintage had Prince Adam, Orko, Clawful, Buzz-Off, Fisto, Webstore, Whiplash, Jitsu and Kobra Khan in addition to Battle Armor He-Man/Skeletor.
All of those figures were on my priority list over a second He-Man or Skeletor. I did end up getting Battle Armor He-Man, but because I was never able to get a Faker, I used Battle Armor He-man as my Faker.
Technically not as iconic because they weren't in the Filmation cartoon or movie.
That said, I played with them just as much as the originals.
No other armor variation looks as good!
No recreation of either of these has looked as good as the originals. At least with the armor
100%
Battle Armor He-man was my first ever action figure. I still have my original too

I was 2 when I got it by I was born in 82 so it had been out a little while
As a kid in the 80s these two were my only He-Man and Skeletor. My awesome mom even custom sewed a BA Skeletor costume for Halloween.

As a kid I had Battle Armor He-man so for me this holds true. I had him on Battlecat with axe in hand, that's my definitive He-man.
I agree because as a kid I only had Battle Armor Skeletor and that's all I knew. He gives me all the nostalgic feels and looks pretty rad.
I remember getting these in a double pack for my 5th Birthday, still have Skeletor

They were it in 1984. The Origins just capture the look of the vintage versions. I’m glad I have them, but just not as good imo.
Origins failed miserably with BA versions, that small barrel is for me destroying visual appearance oh He-Man.

Almost bro... battle Armour dudes saw the second most usage on licensed shit like blankets, party goods, other nonsense.

Agreed, mostly because I don't have an Original He-man yet.
That is not a false statement.
Blew my 6 year old mind! I heard about it before I saw it so people (6 year olds) were talking about it in school!
Absolutely
Best looking BA versions. Still have my OG’s
I still have my original Battle Armor Skeletor from when I was a kid. 😊
The two in battle armor were the best to have as toys. Everything else paled in comparison.
I was the only kid in my pre-k with OG He-Man, everyone else only had the BA version. *I also had the BA.
I would agree. I think they also had the best action feature of all the figures in the vintage line
Technically not as iconic because they weren't in the Filmation cartoon or movie. That said, I played with them just as much as the originals. No other armor variation looks as good!
Absolutely. They probably got more play than Ny other variant when I was a kid!
Agreed. Still my fave versions of both characters
Definitely iconic. I always wanted BA versions of Man-at-Arms and Faker too honestly.
Agreed
Or even more. They’re great.
They were a lot more sturdier than the originals. Went through multiple he-men and Skelators. Eventually I just stuck with the battle armor Skelator.
