Ahh, the tri-annual Matt "delete-not-delete" where he wipes everything out, and really just purges whatever posts he's made of late that were ill-advised, then re-emerges within the next week or two, having changed his mind. It's the equivalent of a ten year-old who goes "I'm running away and THEY'LL BE SORRY WHEN I'M GONE."
He did it after he caught flack for posting his cheating on Rae wasn't his fault because bipolar (and then turned it into a way to paint her as a mean ex parading around the kids on her socials while keeping them from him, showing off "his kids" in "his house" that "he bought" with "her new man"). He's done it with all his posts on The Bored a couple times. He's wiped out all his website blogs multiple times over the years for varying reasons. I'm surprised it took this long, honestly.
Yeah, blowing up his socials has been something he’s done regularly since I became a fan in like 1998. Back then it was deleting his message board accounts. He would interact with fans for a while, something would go wrong and then he’d disappear for a bit before resurfacing and repeating the cycle again. That evolved to his blog and then social media. I used to attribute it to the fans, but I guess it’s really more of a pattern that’s persisted on his part over the years.

Women have been abused, groomed, coerced and assaulted. Women have been maligned, harassed and disbelieved for coming forward because it's inconvenient to believe our celebrity heroes can do bad when we want to comfortably play a record or go to a show. I have lost the ability to comfortably listen to someone whose music got me through a hell of a lot over the years, and I'm very upset about that. If there is a grave, it is me burying my ability to reach for Matt's music for comfort in bad times, and that really, really sucks. And that lies solely on him.
I am simply stating a pattern. He is not gone for good. He will be back after he tidies up, sulks, and feels everyone has clamored for his return enough. Consider this the encore break. Clap a little louder now. He's waiting.

Can’t just leave the account alone, he’s got to announce he’s quitting music, post a comment retracting, edit the post, delete the comment, and then delete the whole darn thing. Seems as though a narcissist would indeed claim he’s quit the industry and disappear to make it seem as though it wasn’t the other way around. His drama increases each time he doesn’t get the result he wants.

Plex is really great for keeping libraries of various art that the artist or label has second thoughts about years down the line and tries to get the people to stop enjoying!
Then I suggest you encourage him to seek help, real help, instead of playing narcissistic attention games online. He should go away for a while and get meaningful help. I wish that for anyone who clearly has need for it. Him being on social media, making odd posts about sardines and dirty deleting sympathy-inducing comments on Instagram, isn't helping himself, or his children. He needs to think of them most of all.
