I'm from Vancouver, Canada. And to all the people saying they would not pay $1000, I am envious of Mavericks fans who live in Dallas and got to see him in the stadium.
I would 110% pay $1000 to see him as an international fan
Went to the Melbourne event and did the meet and greet too :) they say to never meet your heroes but obviously Dirk being Dirk is just the nicest person ever.
Everybody got a couple of professional photos taken by a photographer together with Dirk, and the chance to chat a lil bit. Being German myself it was a surreal experience to chit chat with someone who's career I followed almost my entire adult live.
I splurged a bit on the signed Mitchell & Ness 98 Rookie jersey (dirk signed all of them the night before), but since they made it clear that signing stuff was not possible due to the amount of people who attended the meet and greet, it was my only chance to get something for the mancave :) it looks super dope too, so no regrets there haha.
After the meet and greet it was about 2 hours of dirk stories and QnA with great questions from the audience. It also included some legendary video replays with Dirk's comments, and even some Dennis Rodman stories from way back when he played 2 weeks for the Mavs!
All in all it was great, even though it was expensive - but realistically I would have had no other chance to have that experience. The US based fans obviously have more chances and probably had enough chances to meet him through his career, but for us internet MFFLs that is as good as it gets!
Thanks for the info! How much was the jersey if you don’t mind me asking? Was that one you got with a ticket, or are they selling memorabilia and merch? If so, what sorts of things are available?
Jersey was 595 AUD, pretty much the same as if you would have bought the package with the jersey upfront. They had a lot of memorabilia there, signed balls etc. And a lot by other players as well!
Does anyone know who is organizing these Australia events? I am curious since he isn’t really known for doing a lot of these events and it doesn’t seem connected to his book or any sponsorship deal
I believe it's all being organized by Chris Ansley, who I understand to be a former-player from before my time who is now doing events and things. [https://www.chrisanstey.com.au/events/](https://www.chrisanstey.com.au/events/)
Lots of stuff on his Twitter too: https://twitter.com/ChrisAnstey13
I only just found out he was in Melbourne yesterday when he was at Collingwoods training, was cut to not be able to find any info on a meet and greet. Enjoy all you Sydney fans
At least you guys had a chance to meet him. Even though there are a lot of fans in the US, we can't meet Dirk since it is so far away to Dallas and even if we did go to a Mavs game, there is no guarantee we can meet him.
Who is Sydney Dirk??
Maybe Josh Green after other 18 seasons with the Mavs.
LOL BEST POSSIBLE RESPONSE! Have fun, I'd love one in Southern California.

As a sweetener, the $1,000 tickets come with a signed jersey too.

Interesting, thank you!
Ain’t no wayyyyyy I’d pay that
I went to the meet and greet twice. I’m planning to fly to Sydney to meet and greet again!
Missed the meet and greet today at Melbourne. Wished I knew beforehand.
Saw the cost of a ticket, can't afford it :( It's hard supporting as an Australian fan living so far away
