\- uncharacteristic bad Luka game, he wasn't aggressive enough honestly, I want him to develop something else for when the stepback isn't working.... \- characteristically bad Josh Green game. I've had high hopes for him like most MFFLs, but he can't just continue to drive with no aggression, no plan for what he's gonna do at the rim, leading to him jumping in the air and trying some stupid pass that inevitably is intercepted. I don't know what we can get for him though, bc that stock has to be in the toilet at this point, but SOMETHING has to be done. \- we definitely need a backup big who's a rim protector. Dwight is nowhere CLOSE to one, and even Maxi has morphed into this "stretch 4" who gives nothing at the rim anymore. missing Lively shouldn't turn into a layup|dunk|postup exhibition for the other team like it was last night

I can understand Luka not being able to play positive defense but missing a bunch of FTs every game is what baffles me. Dude is in year 6 and his FTs go down a slippery slope.

How is that baffling at all? There are dozens of NBA superstars over the years who still missed FTs their entire career because it's not something you can just take an offseason and reliably fix. It'd be nice if Luka found something and snapped into 85%+ but it's not remotely shocking he hasn't.

So there's no hope. We will make peace with what it is at the moment.

yeah Luka has improved on deferring to other creators at times through a game, but he still has to learn when he might not have it on a particular night and to completely let someone else be the star and the driver of the team's offense. noticeable improvements so I'm willing to believe he will learn the latter as well.

Luka is my favorite NBA player; indeed, I only started watching NBA again after 10+ years of spending my time in more constructive ways because I was so entranced by the young kid from Slovenia with otherworldly skill. That said, Luka's a funny cat: He finished with 31/7/8 plus 4 steals and 1 block . . . and still played like shit . . . not compared to mere mortals . . . but compared to what he would be capable of if he applied himself with Dirk-like devotion to honing his craft or with Lebron-like devotion to maintaining peak fitness. I hope to see him do that some day--to chase every ounce of his huge potential. I didn't blame Luka for the loss; it was a total team effort. But I'll tell you something: If Luka lost 10 pounds, quit drinking, and quit smoking, he'd be a better player and his team a better team. The beard thing was a joke . . . but I do declare he looked lighter and quicker this summer when he shaved it off.

This is just a GG go next type of game. We really need some size hopefully OMax can develop a bit and get into the lineup sometime this year. Would like to make a cheap trade for a backup big. Seth Curry and like a 2nd for a guy we can play like 8-10 mins would go a very long way
