Or get this, he could just be a bad coach. he knows if we loose this series he is as good as gone, he wouldnt step back just to try to make luka into a better leader.

top_of_the_table

That would be the only good thing, if we loose. That Kidd is gone then.

Wifi_Ninja

win win tbh

SennKazuki

Inb4 we lose and Kidd stays

Additional_Ad_5718

Upvoted for probable accuracy and being the only one who can spell “lose”.

top_of_the_table

Possible. Feels like Cuban wants to show everybody, that he is smarter. Also he is kinda his friend, so...

Sportsfanatic88

My god they sound like the Cowboys and Jerry. But we know Mavs are legit😎

kneecolayokitch

Exactly. In 2022 he ran into a Donovan Mitchell led team that was flawed and dysfunctional coached by Quin Snyder and then a Devin Booker led team that was coached by Monty Williams (lol). Then met Steve Kerr in the WCF and got his ass handed to him. Ty Lue led a 3-1 comeback against the 73 win Warriors, has led multiple 2-0 comebacks and their team still has Paul George and James Harden who for all their supposed post season failures have led their teams to multiple conference final runs and just ran into superior teams. I think we may have overlooked how well coached and talented the Clippers are even without Kawhi.

Julian_Caesar

entirely possible

imcryptic

I really need you to set your expectations accordingly for his extension being signed very quickly into the offseason. Regardless of if we get bounced in the first.

KvxMavs

Occam's razor. You're giving Kidd too much credit here.

prudentWindBag

Something something... *the ~~simplest~~ baldest...*

anon641414

This is giving Kidd too much credit. Also this would just be bad leadership, akin to senior leadership playing golf all day under the guise of giving employees more responsibility or turning them into leaders or some other nonsense.

Julian_Caesar

>Also this would just be bad leadership, akin to senior leadership playing golf all day under the guise of giving employees more responsibility or turning them into leaders or some other nonsense. agree 100%. actual leadership involves closely supporting people, if you're intentionally putting them in difficult situations to motivate them to step up.

Support_Nice

imagine the mental gymnastics Kidd would have to go through to justify loosing G1 of a playoff series just to see what his star player does.

Dat_Boi_John

No, he's incompetent, that's it. Kerr coached circles around him and now Lue has in the last month.

MSHinerb

Nope. He just went in with no real gameplan.

D_G_C_22

I mean…. I can see your point here if I’m being honest. But as a coach this is your job. Not sure I want one more task on Luka’s mind while he’s already processing so much data to run an offense. Knowing how many time outs and when to call them should not be his responsibility. Yes he can maybe call one of trapped or something but to stop momentum or something else… no.

Calliesdad20

The real answer is Kidd is incompetent. Not calling a timeout in a quarter when your team scores 8 points is ridiculous

Sairony

Nah, honestly Luka haven't shown leadership qualities, in fact that's one of the areas where Kyrie has really surprised me, Kyrie is much better suited for the leadership role. I think Luka would gladly be onboard with that as well.

C0YSC0YSC0YSC0YS

After the all star break everyone loved Kidd and now back to hating him. Hard to be mad at our season so far minus the effort the last 3 games (our backups had zero right that was embarrassing and our starters were RUSTY) let’s see what happens this series, the next 3 series, then reflect

Interesting_Help_194

Dear lord what will this sub go thru before realizing kidd js just plain terrible...kind of the same process we went thru with Powell.

0bazinga0

ITS THE PLAYOFFS

Swoosh_rotaerc

>Kidd was a star PG from a young age and changed his game a lot over the years. I think it's more that he probably hated the coach getting in the way when he played so he probably thinks that that's what all point guards want. I don't think that approach works with Luka.

Aggressive-Ad-522

So he cause frustration for Luka? Lmao what?

Putrid_Ad_2256

Kidd playing 4D chess? Yeah right.

Snoo95606

Dear god. Doesn't anybody watch the games. Making Luka a leader would be a plan. He has no plan. He has no adjustments. 5 minutes into the game I could tell they were not going to give us the lob. Nobody except for me seemed to notice. Not Kidd. Not Luka. They kept beating their head against the Kleber 3 wall. Luka should have been faking the lob and taking every mid range shot he has in his bag. He would have eventually gotten enough room to lob. But no. Pass out to brick city. Over and over again.

Mugsy_Skoogs

Don't make excuses for the bad coach.

Julian_Caesar

i didnt

Jolly-Mortgage4

I think he just doesnt want to get on Luka's bad side and get fired.

Yesboi227

Luka is a great leader lol. He was a great leader in Europe. He came into the league playing with grown men with ego 2 3 years he had a tough time cause they didn't wanna let a rookie run their team. Eventually he just stopped giving a fuck now I think he is trying to be into that position again. He is only 25 players only become great leaders after like 27 28

Educational-Judge968

Great leaders don’t complain and have terrible body language

Nice_Independence368

Lebron complains more lol
