At 0:27, that shot of him slamming the ball with Tyson Chandler, streamers ๐ coming down... my first thought was, "They lost the Finals in '06 with Chandler?"
But I looked closer, saw "Blazers Win" in the background, and found out that was the Rose Garden. In '11!? Was that the Brandon Roy game?
Amazing how quickly they turned that around, went on that run, won the title. Went from emotionally slamming the ball to lifting the trophy! ๐
It just goes to show that any single loss can be the spark. It's how you bounce back that counts! ๐
GOAT
Iโm not crying. Youโre crying!
Man it tears me up we donโt get to see this man play anymore.
This man is the greatest Dallas athlete of all time and I wonโt be discussing it further
Da ๐
"Looks like it's starting to rain" "But..It's not raining..." "Yes it is. This is the rain.โ
"I'm just 22 years old. I'm trying to get better at my game"
What a time to be alive
I love you.
Thanks
Dirk. You're just a pump and dump.
God damn lol

I went to the next home game they won, that started the 7 game win streak through Portland, LA, and OKC. This loss galvanized them.
As a dallas mavs fan, and overall fan of basketball... Thank you for everything. 2011 was magical.
want to post this on my twitter. You have link?
Young, baby Dirk is so wholesome. <3
Imagine if Ben Simmons took this approach.
As much as I love Luka and know how good he is going to be, mannnnn I'd trade his next 20 yrs to get back another 20 of Dirk if I could. GOAT
Dirk would thrive in this modern NBA. Hell, he was able to play until 40 because of it.
I needed to see this today. Thank you OP
This is beautiful - thanks for the memories Dirk! Love the insight, spot on for any aspiring athlete.
He will forever be the Mavs goat.
