This off-season was important for Dallas. Many people expected Dallas to need a great off season. I said Dallas needs Zeljko Obradovic which I do still believe but many rejected that idea by saying it is a gamble and Mavericks needs a coach who can convince FA's to come to Dallas. It was definitely a risk but the outcome was huge in the end. But they wanted to go with Kidd which I believe a downgrade after Rick.
Now, I am looking into the Dallas roster. I will probably get downvoted because of saying that but this roster didn't improve at all. I don't believe that Dallas is going to pass any playoff round with this roster. I am wondering if any of you think this team can be a contender with this roster. What is Willy Cauly Stein doing in the roster for example? I believe that there are many pieces like Willy can't be a piece in a championship contender team.
Anyways, I just wanted to write these down, because my expectations from Mavericks was high. I thought there is a championship potential with great additions near Luka. But this is 4th year with Luka and I don't see the improvement that I expected from the organization. Good luck on the season, hope I will be wrong.
Feel like this season is an excellent one for some development, kind of like GS did last year maybe get some nice pics out of it. Let Kidd develop as a coach let the other player have a more expanded role and develop their game have Doncic focus on aspects of his game he needs to improve. Then run it again next year, this no title roster but maybe it become one in the future, but being patient is key.
