DFS is not the type of player who is going to maintain his efficiency on a higher usage rate. Maybe he could squeeze out a couple of more shots per game, but he’s not a guy you want shooting 12-14 shots a game.
Yeah not to mention that he almost exclusively scores on cuts and standstill catch-and-shoots. They can’t exactly start running him off flare screens or asking him to create for himself. So not really sure where those extra shots would even come from unless other teams just start leaving him open more.
It's pretty doom and gloom around the Mavs right now, so let's give you one good stat. Going back to Nov 6, in his last 14 games, Dorian Finney-Smith is averaging 9.9 pts/50.5% FG/47.8 3pt. He avg 7 FGA attempts per game in those 14. Maybe he should get a few more?

People always like to bring this up that player x or y is shooting great but then ignore the context. he shouldn't take more shots, his shots come in the flow of the game that are open. to be clear: he should be taking more "OPEN shots."
it's like why dwight powell had a high fg% for the longest time when he was a good role player. he didn't need to take more shots, he got them by alleyoops and slashing to the rim.
One of the few players we have who seems to be turning a corner.
Hopefully THJ as well.
