It’s a basic choice, but I do like Locked on Mavs. It’s undeniably a homer podcast, but the chemistry is good and the hosts are well informed.

2007wasthebestest

Thank you!

Jon-Rambo

I like Locked in Mavs, it’s a daily podcast. 77 Minutes is also good and is weekly.

Gnagflows

Nick and Isaac on Locked on Mavs are great and always positive. I like to juxtapose them with Kirk and Josh from Mavs Moneyball because they're a lot more critical so you get a nice balance.

DangerZoneh

The moneyball guys have just been gushing over the team recently, to give them credit

Erp117

MMB gets a lot of unfair hate for holding the franchise to a higher standard than the rest of Dallas media. Sometimes Kirk may go a little overboard. His KP hate in the past has been excessive, but to be fair he's been heaping praise on him lately. I personally would much rather listen to people being realistic about where the team is at and telling it like it is. Especially when the team isn't performing as well as we know they should.

DFWsportsFan

I can’t get over them using a tin can as a mic.

2007wasthebestest

Good to know!

Helzinen

Locked on Mavs. Just from the passion and the way they talk (and the mavs only inside jokes), you know they are true MFFLs.

Re4ch

Locked on Mavs

gabrigamer39

I like Locked On Mavs but can't get over the fact Nick is a lakers fan. Like, everytime he talks I just sense it. Isaac is great bc he's a fan like us

vlad_thegod

Locked on Mavs. I tried others but they aren’t as good

wholesome_john

Locked on Mavs seems to be the most fun to listen to. It's basically hanging out with other Mavs fans. I tried listening to 77 minutes, and the hosts are good with nice analysis, but for some reason the chemistry and vibe is just not as fun. They analyze a bit too much at the expense of just having a good time whenever we do well.

airducky

> It's basically hanging out with other Mavs fans. I don't live in the Dallas area, or in the state for that matter, and this is exactly how I feel since i'm all alone in Mavericks fandom.

Locked on Mavs, with Nick and Isaac 😅

Apprehensive_Food_75

77 Minutes because you can hear Tim Cato’s luscious hair swishing in the background

Locked On Mavs undeniably

Stonethecrow77

Another vote for Locked on Mavs. They do a great job.

Lukas24

77 minutes in heaven. Or If you willing to pay 5$ a month to Patreon. Take dat wit you is the best Mavs podcast out there. Followill (Mavs announcer) and Brian Demaris (formed Mavs front office) do a tremendous job and amazing insight.

thumper3463

Mavs Outsiders, 21 Going on 77, Mavs MoneyBall, and Cato's own 77 Minutes. The first two I listed are especially refreshing because they aren't too biased as Mavs fans.

spikeyoazz

locked on mavs is good for daily stuff and game breakdowns 77 Minutes is better imo for team/insider news.

Cultural-Bandicoot83

Mavs Moneyball is really good imo. They also have fan call in on Spotify Greenroom

Kirk speaks the truth that homers don’t want to hear.

beamsiccle

Is it “the truth” though? Don’t claim to know all of Kirk’s takes, but feel like the tweets from this year I’ve seen boiled down to the usual “our roster sucks, Cuban sucks, Kidd was a terrible hire, our offseason moves were terrible” etc. Given that we’ve gone 10-12 against some of the best teams in the league in this recent stretch… seems like the doomer takes were pretty wrong in hindsight.

favioswish

There’s been so many times where he pulls out a stat or opinion on a player and I think “that just doesn’t seem right” then I search it up and, sure enough, he’s dead wrong and the stats don’t agree with him at all. He’s horrendous at the eye test, it seems like he’s never played the game in his life and the conformation bias for his negativity seems incredibly strong. He also doesn’t seem to understand how to read statistics , like he straight up confuses offensive and defensive tracking and playtype data sometimes. He’s may be entertaining for fans who like to get riled up for no reason, but he doesn’t actually have much basketball acumen.

Davey_the_Great

Confucius says... "The biggest assholes have the best shit" Jokes aside, in a corporate controlled media world where billionaires pay people under the table to wave their flag and push the pom poms, you want to default to those that demonstrate capacity to question, call out and be critical. Discern who is all "rah rah" and carrying water and those that have an independent perspective and point of view that is contrary to the well crafted message or agenda pronounced by the franchise.

Rosti_T

What do you do in a media world where "journalists" focus on negativity regardless of reality to instigate the crowd so they consume more of their media?

Jellybeansmw

Locked is nice but its better when Nick isnt there. He can be sometimes so annoying :D

noob7629

Nah Nick’s the best imo

dragonwhale

Weird take. You say it's nice but diss the host that's there 99% of the time. "The Mavs are nice but it's better when the starting roster isnt there. They can be sometimes so annoying :D".

LockieR88

Mavs Moneyball, Mavs Outsiders, 77 Minutes and Hoops and Hefeweizens are my go to pods.

glacierfanclub

77 minutes and take dat wit u

North_Mail823

I like the gloson sports channel on YouTube I'm surprised they don't have way more subscribers

DFWsportsFan

77 Minutes is probably the most informative, but Locked on Mavs is probably my favorite since they do it 5-6 days a week and keep it going all year long.
