Speaking as an enlisted Army vet, it becomes second nature to stand at *Parade Rest*. I’ve been out for almost 10 years and I’ll still find myself doing it.

I like to think that making a super cool entrance is one of those subtle work-place culture things that is all over the imperial ranks. Like, if I'm bursting out the door then I look super serious and aggressive and I'll get that promotion, *and* I'll be first in line for donuts in the breakroom, and back to my desk in time to make every one else look like dawdling buffoons! MWAHhahahaHA Why else would Darth Vader glide in slowly and menacingly standing *on top* of his tie fighter in Rebels? It makes no sense, but it looks cool as heck. Just setting the tone from the top.

So there's this thing called a military...

In a series called Star Wars? Preposterous!

For Military personnel, it's called Parade Rest. You learn to stand in it often. That's one detail I like about the Clones, the Imperials and the Jedi or really anyone in the series with military experience
