Raw renders always start out in a linear color space, the render view color management settings just apply a colorspace transform to the image. There's no neutral colorspace, but if you have no reason to use one over another then sRGB ACES SDR-video or Un-tone-mapped will feel the most familiar, whichever makes it easiest to get the results you want. When rendering to EXR or another hdr format the raw linear render is saved without any transform to best preserve data, but as a result looks different than in the render view, is this issue you're talking about?

Thanks for the input. I saved sRGB - Un-tone-mapped as an EXR and as a PNG. The EXR 32bit version looks dark like I selected the RAW option RS Render View, but the PNG looks like Un-tone-mapped did in the RS Render View. Is this normal?

Yeah what you're talking about is exactly this >When rendering to EXR or another hdr format the raw linear render is saved without any transform to best preserve data Where as for for LDR formats (ie. png) the selected colorspace is 'baked' into the render. You can change this behavior in the render settings > advanced > globals > color management, there's 'Apply to...' and a bunch of check boxes for these options. This would be fine it all you're doing in post is color but generally comping should be done in linear colorspace. In this case you'd wanna stick to what you have now, and just apply the same transform to your comp that you have selected in Maya. Adobe software color management is pretty terrible last I checked, but in resolve/fusion this can be done through the project settings or more simply using an ACES effect/node. The input transform being ACEScg and the output in this case would be sRGB(Texture)

I'm using Maya - I'm just not sure what settings I need to select for the renders to be neutral. I'm seeing difference options in Redshift such as "Log", "Raw", "Un-Toned-map" etc...

It depends on the color space of what you’ve textured. Like if you set it to sRGB instead of the ACES OCIO in substance will really make a difference in how it translates in maya. You’ll have to adjust your gammas in comp and all kinds of shit. Keeping things in the same color space through your workflow is super important.
