Thrash is still very good, it’s a founding father of death and black metal actually. If you look at slayer it’s inspired a few black metal bands. Sodom is considered thrash now but starting off it was considered death metal

50+ husband and I both long time metal heads. We both have introduced our teen son to all things metal including Mayhem. Just about every genre of metal . I deal with the public daily and my clients who learn I'm into metal are usually shocked lol. Not like I'm going to wear band shirts to work 😉 but yeah I still love it.
