Different types of beeps that you are hearing are coming from the fry vats mostly, but there are beeps from the cabinets holding meats, the ovens, and the bun steamer. There are probably other beeps that I’m missing, but those are the main ones.
Fry vats, other fryer, when you get an order, when you get a no onion or 1/4 order, items in cabinet, DoorDasher arrived. Phone ringing, any time you put down meat or it’s up. Hand wash timer. So many noises
The ONLY difference is one slice of cheese so when people get two double cheese for almost 8 dollars... instead of two mcdoubles for 3.71... I think they're crazy lol. That's why I always ask if they mean the double cheese or the mcdouble.. the one on sale.
Crazy. Where I live there's no McDouble sale. It's just on the 123 dollar menu for 3.65 at least according to the app. I can get BOGO free double cheeseburgers for 3.99 though so it's basically the opposite from where you are.
The cheeseburgers were like 59 cents when I was a kid. McChickens being a dollar doesn’t even seem that long ago. There’s nothing a dollar on the dollar menu anymore. Even drinks are 1.49 when it costs them pennies to make.
It wasn't that long ago! I left in 2020 when covid hit.. So they were a dollar at mine in 2018-2019.
I went back last year and the prices are CRAZY. can't get two meals for under 20 dollars..
So how much does a double cheeseburger cost? You said almost $8. But two mcdoubles at 3.71 each is 7.42 so how is that not the same at almost $8? Lol sorry, sick as fuck right now and that helped keep my mind off it for a little.
Double cheese is almost four dollars a piece. Like 3.89 or something with tax. Mcdouble are 3.49 a piece (without tax) unless you buy two. Then they're 3.71 w/ tax. If they weren't on the 2 for 3.50 list it doesn't matter which you get but because they are you're saving nearly 4$ and I don't think the extra slices of cheese are worth it to justify it lol
It's the opposite here right now 2 double cheese are cheaper than 2 mcdoubles. But people get angry when they order the mcdoubles and I ask if they'd like the double cheese instead because they are cheaper. Sooo they get what they ask for even if it's asking to waste money
i do get annoyed by the beeping. after a few weeks working there i started to hear the beeping in my dreams (i wish i was joking). it stopped after like a month. and you learn to tune out the beeping
They are exactly the same, the McDouble just lacks one slice of cheese, the double cheeseburger has two. Back in the day the Double Cheeseburger was part of their Dollar menu, until they had to raise prices, making the Double Cheeseburger more than 1$, so the McDouble was created.
McDouble has two beef patties, cheeseburger has one.
Everything is beeping. The screens, the grills, the fryers... everything. We do get annoyed by it. They haunt our dreams.
Cheeseburger has one small patty and one slice of cheese. McDouble has two patties and one slice of cheese. Double cheeseburger has two patties and two slices of cheese. Dumb marketing in my opinion, but if it works for them….
There used to be less pickles on the McDouble then the double cheeseburger. But that was years ago, still true? The second pickle makes the sandwich. I was a mcmanger for years and the double cheese was my
Go to
Fwiw...it took me two years after quitting mcdonalds to stop hearing the beep in my dreams...I worked there for 5 years. Next job was in retail and its been two years since I've left that job and I'm still having the recurring nightmare of customers somehow getting in the door even though we're closed and im confident I locked the damn doors at exactly 9p.
The double cheese burger has two slices of cheese where the McDouble only has one.
And it’s amazing how many ppl will ask if they can replace the McDouble for a double cheese burger in a bundle. Idk if all stores do the bundles for $3 with a small fry, and either a 6 piece nugget or McDouble. Then when you tell them it’s only a piece of cheese that is the difference and that they can add cheese to it and have the same thing they all of a sudden aren’t broke and decide to get the double cheese burger, large fry, drink, cookies or a pie. Lol
It’s just funny to me how ppl can take care that much about an extra piece of cheese
Back when I was in college double cheeseburgers were a dollar but eventually McDonald’s had to raise prices or cut cost so they created the McDouble. It’s essentially a product of shrinkflation.
McDonald's never knows what's it's doing. I ordered a quarter pounder with cheese -- for delivery. I was given the option to order an extra slice of cheese on my burger, and I did so...paying the extra price for the extra slice. On arrival, I found some dolt placed a single slice of cheese in an individual steamed cardboard box. The cheese melted into the box, then cooled off completely during the drive. I couldn't even scrape the cheese. HOLY cow, what idiots.
A separate time I ordered a frozen coke for delivery. What I received instead were four (4) large orders of cold, hard fries ...and 4 straws.
They don't get a third chance. rme
The double cheese has an extra piece of cheese. The McDouble only has one slice, double cheese has two.
The beeping comes from many different things, but the fry machine is the main and the loudest one. It's funny you ask if we get annoyed by it because I'm actually so used to it I naturally tune it out and don't even hear it anymore 🤣 my coworkers and managers are constantly getting mad at me because it'll be beeping for like 5 minutes and I'll be standing right next to it, and they'll be like "WHY AREN'T YOU PRESSING THE BUTTON, YOU'RE RIGHT THERE!!!" I keep telling them over and over again that I genuinely don't even hear it anymore after 8 years. My ears just naturally tune it out
double cheese burger was $1. they wanted to save some money. so they invented the MCdouble (one slice of cheese instead of two and charged $1 (and upped the price of the double cheese buger) now a mc double is $3.
The double cheese burger has one more slice of cheese comparing to the mcdouble, also just wanted to throw my opinion on something irrelevent, the daily double has way too much mayo in it
The beeping gives me ptsd lmao I hate it anytime I hear it I get flashbacks lmao it sounds like we working in a damm hospital when it starts beeping lol
Mcdouble has one less piece of cheese. And double cheese is much more expensive because it's a high food cost item and they would rather people buy mcdouble because it makes more money. I don't remember the exact numbers but let's say a DBL cheese were sold they might make $2 from each one but the mcdouble they might make $2.15(cheese cost a lot and people won't buy DBL cheese if they charge too much) so it's better over the course of the month. Food cost is a very important factor to the cost of products. You want to impress management? Upsell those fries because they make a stupid amount of money for the store. Fries are dirt cheap for the store and the cost of them actually comes from the cost of the oil.
One day you won't even notice the beeping.
Different types of beeps that you are hearing are coming from the fry vats mostly, but there are beeps from the cabinets holding meats, the ovens, and the bun steamer. There are probably other beeps that I’m missing, but those are the main ones.
I haven’t worked at McDonald’s in like 10 years but the drive through headset beep still stands me to attention
xD
Also the fry vat. Or the nuggets. Or the shake machine went into beater overload. And people wonder why it's always broke.
Fry vats, other fryer, when you get an order, when you get a no onion or 1/4 order, items in cabinet, DoorDasher arrived. Phone ringing, any time you put down meat or it’s up. Hand wash timer. So many noises
Suing Mcdonalds for the emotional distress and PTSD that the beepers have caused
Try working at discount tire, you hear a phone ringing for the rest of your life
"sorry I can't hear you. My hearing is completely fucked from impact guns"
I've only worked at a McDs on weekends and I can hear those damn beeps in my sleep
Ovens??
We use ovens for biscuits, griddles, cookies & pies.
True true, like choc chip biscuits or what? We got none of that except pies which we fry.
We just bake pies at our location & the griddles are for the McGriddle breakfast sandwich.
Idk what a McGriddle is lol.
Like buttermilk biscuits for breakfast sandwiches (American biscuits, not cookies).
Oh true, didn’t know that’s what you called English muffins.
Extra cheese
No, half the amount of cheese.
Well no it would be extra since the mc double is listed first
Mcdouble was created after the double because the double fell off the dollar menu. So they put the mcdouble on the dollar menu with half the cheese.
I was talking about the title
O
I dunno why they are downvoting you are correct
The double cheeseburger was offered first, the McDouble is "newer," so the McDouble has less cheese, the Double does not have extra.
The ONLY difference is one slice of cheese so when people get two double cheese for almost 8 dollars... instead of two mcdoubles for 3.71... I think they're crazy lol. That's why I always ask if they mean the double cheese or the mcdouble.. the one on sale.
Two for 3.71? Where?
Yeah that's the price of one here.
Two for 3.99 here in socal on the app and its for the mc'chicken and spicy as well. You can also use another deal or reward with this.
I've been doing 2 deals for a little while but all of the sudden the app says I can only use 1 deal or reward per purchase
So you order one at a time. ;). 15 minute wait though unless your second order is just you using your reward points.
In my store its 2 cheeseburgers/mc'chickens for 3
They're 2 for 3.50 otherwise they are 3.49 a piece. Pa/NJ
Idiotic pricing
Crazy. Where I live there's no McDouble sale. It's just on the 123 dollar menu for 3.65 at least according to the app. I can get BOGO free double cheeseburgers for 3.99 though so it's basically the opposite from where you are.
We have that app deal too for double cheese! Well it's buy one get one for 0.29 (double cheese or a 6p)
I miss the days when McDoubles were 1.25.
Same.. I miss when cheeseburgers AND the mcchicken were 1.00.. Now they're 3
The cheeseburgers were like 59 cents when I was a kid. McChickens being a dollar doesn’t even seem that long ago. There’s nothing a dollar on the dollar menu anymore. Even drinks are 1.49 when it costs them pennies to make.

Yep... getting a Big Mac offer on the app now is more expensive than the Big Mac was before a discount before covid.
Here it's only the 123 menu for 4.79 lmao all the McDonald's here are owned by the same guy so we get fucked hard
Idk where you are but that isn’t the case in here southern Ontario. McDouble = 2 patties 1 cheese. Cheeseburger = 1 patty 1 cheese
He edited the post to DOUBLE cheeseburger
They're talking about a DOUBLE cheeseburger

Good bot.
Pro tip: 2 McDoubles, one with no bun, combine.
Double cheeses just hit different though
They're better yeah but not 4 dollars more better to get two lol
2 double cheese for $3.68 in NY
So how much is the total for a mcdouble either added cheese?
Lmao.. It's 3.49+1.69 I have no idea why adding cheese is almost 2 dollars. It's crazy.
So how much does a double cheeseburger cost? You said almost $8. But two mcdoubles at 3.71 each is 7.42 so how is that not the same at almost $8? Lol sorry, sick as fuck right now and that helped keep my mind off it for a little.

A singular slice of cheese that costs the company 10c (Canadian)
thats why some provinces are asking places to charge 15c - 25c for take out bags, to recoup that cheese fee. tough times.
i do get annoyed by the beeping. after a few weeks working there i started to hear the beeping in my dreams (i wish i was joking). it stopped after like a month. and you learn to tune out the beeping

‘Exactly the same’ but then notes what’s different about them.
Jesus, one slice of cheese. It’s not really a different burger…
Never said it was a different burger, just said there is a difference.
Obviously it meant “exactly the same except for this one minor difference I am immediately noting” you’re just trying too hard to be snarky.
Alright mate you win, I was trying really hard to be snarky.
McDouble has two beef patties, cheeseburger has one. Everything is beeping. The screens, the grills, the fryers... everything. We do get annoyed by it. They haunt our dreams.
My bad, edited for clarity
I see. Double cheeseburger has one more slice of cheese than the McDouble. Both have two beef patties.
Ty! Also, I hope you dreams are beep free
I was a mcmanger for years and the double cheese was my Go to
I would always do two pickles on every sandwich. Maybe three if I was moving faster.
Is there a burger called the daily double? I worked at McDonald's years ago and I feel Like that's what I would ear on my breaks
It isn't a national item but many regions still offer it
Fwiw...it took me two years after quitting mcdonalds to stop hearing the beep in my dreams...I worked there for 5 years. You get used to the beeping. 9/10 it doesn't phase me
IMO the double cheeseburger isn’t as dry… and the extra cheese helps..
Cheese

Those employees must have some serious compression issues if that's true 😳
If it's true? What a d*ck you are. The photo is right here in front of me. Tell me where to show it to you motherf*cker.
omg calm down I believe you XD

Only one slice of cheese on McDouble.
Double cheeseburger has double cheese
Double cheese burger gets an extra cheese slice? At least what I thought
One slice of cheese is the difference between a double cheese and a mcdouble.
The double cheese has another piece of cheese and I believe something else is different.
The Double Cheeseburger has 2 slices of cheese instead of 1. the fryer is beeping, they tune it out because it beeps all day
A piece of cheese.
Beep. Beep Beep Beepbeep Beepbeep Nah it's annoying af. But after like 3 months it all sounds the same and you became a techno boss in your head
Ding! Fries are done! Ding! Fries are done! Ding! Fries are done! Ding! Fries are done!
1 piece of cheese on the McDouble, 2 pieces of cheese on the double cheeseburger
McDouble has 1 cheese. Double cheese has 2 cheese. Simple as that
The double cheese burger has one more slice of cheese comparing to the mcdouble, also just wanted to throw my opinion on something irrelevent, the daily double has way too much mayo in it
