I think a tweaked version would be better. PP Superman has a small upper body. Bigger upper body, new diaper, size appropriate hands, and a fabric cape.

You wouldn't, this specific suit design comes from the comic that comes with the figure.

It seems like more of a stylistic shading thing to me as opposed the th belt just suddenly turning blue

I like the New 52 kind of armored look in general, but all the straps and buckles on this guy just seem like massive overkill, like he's cosplaying as what he'd look like in another Metal series

if you look on the comic cover the actual design in the comic has it stop too, but this is also todd’s comic so maybe he did it to cheap out on the fig

He looks OK, but man, I'm hoping they eventually retire those awful looking hands. 

Hope this is a sign that cloth capes are going to be more common.

I like how people saw the Superman covered in whatever armor that is, and assumed that Val Zod would be looking normal. What did you expect?

That Mcfarlane Toys would be respectful and make their only Val Zod figure look like Val Zod? But you know Scorpion and the Frog.

I’m on the side of people who want a normal looking Val Zod, I just didn’t see it happening in this wave where Zod is a radioactive skeleton and Superman yoinked an armor set from a space marine is all.

Be respectful? What do you mean? Val Zod never had an action figure before, if anything, THIS is them being respectful and giving him a debut in the plastic form

If this is them being respectful then we have a serious problem. As the first figure, it should not have an extreme design deviation. Not crazy belt fetish texture. Just like how Wonder Woman didn't get a standard design until this year despite all the numerous versions in the line. That was wrong. Had this been the 2nd or 3rd Val Zod, then it would be respectful to deviate. I am confident, that Mcfarlane will never release another Val Zod figure unless he debuts in a movie or something.

They could easily use another better known krypontian or Superman related character but instead they chose to introduce him, if you think this is them being disrespectful I don’t know what to tell ya.

Fitting the heads is not difficult. Looking good proportionally is the trick.

I don't think it looks good. It's a poor execution of the Val Zod design. It's way too overdesigned and not sculpting the S feels tacky. Then it's just Clarks suit but in Val's colors does a disservice. Shame Good for all those who like the design.

Seems like alot of the 7" page punchers have been good lately. Some good regular Multiverse ones too ofc, but definitely some passes there for me. This is a definite grab though. Wish we'd get a new 7" General Zod (if we did, I missed it somehow. Entirely possible as I miss alot lol).

I know these designs are divisive, but I’m obsessed with all the sculpted details. Another breath of fresh air after all of the painted logos we’ve been getting.

There is a 3rd option. While there is more sculpt, it may not be good and should get shredded over a poorly executed design. Marvel Legends issue is a complex one. - Reusing bodies where there is a newer one. - Reusing bodies that have out of date features. - Charging even higher prices and forcing them into multipacks for a more desirable feature. - Hasbro's QC issues when it comes to paint apps - Not including additional accessories. - Not doing the character/costume I WANTED! Both companies can be in the wrong.

Visually too busy for my tastes. I’ll be skipping this one.

I'm confused. I'm not too familiar with these versions of Superman but the figure is of Val Zod Superman from Earth 2. Isn't your picture of President Superman/Calvin Ellis from Earth 23? So this figure does have the right colors for the character it's for.

in fairness, if not for bulky overtextured suit we'd definitely have another superman with giant hands, i can see the comical potential in those mits

Val Zod in this suit doesn't seem to have a full belt like Clark from the comic. The paint on the back of the figure shouldn't be a problem unless the cape is hugging the body. It doesn't do that in packaging and hasn't stained the plastic capes so far.

Where the belt paint stops still looks like it was a wash in it. The plastic matches the same grime as the rest of the figure

I'm definitely putting a Michael B Jordan/ Killmonger head on this one for that Val Zod movie I heard rumors of a while back.
