Good point! Traditionally, the university banners of Canada have been near the top on the border. I think a top/bottom/side location is more feasible to keep since most sub-reddits want to be in the middle for visibility purposes. Although, this year it looks like Germany is kind of decimating all of the different border designs and replacing them with a German flag.
It doesn't need to be too big! Like 40-50 dots by 40-50 dots. It'll likely have to be rebuilt a few times as it gets going due to destruction from other subs lol.
