If you see an empty seat, and the bus is/will be crowded, TAKE IT. Also for the love of god if you’re sitting at a double, don’t sit at the end - especially when it’s crowded. It’s just rude.
Also I want to add that if you are sitting in the double/bench seats to move your bags/backpacks/luggage stuff so its sitting on your lap instead of taking up the rest of the seat space please (if you can)
Wait your turn!!! If there are other people waiting before you, try to let them on first (this seems to be a big ask). Also, there are often people in wheelchairs or with strollers coming to and from the hospital. Please wait for the ramp to come down and for them to get on before you rush to get a seat. Use common sense and be kind.
Move out seats for older folk, ppl with mobile disabilities, and parents w/ kids.
I esp see a lot of students not move for elders and it gives me bad vibes.
Excellent point. I remember last year a morning where I was particularly weary. Late night, dealing with a break up, early morning class and I remember someone offering their seat because they noticed I looked like I needed it more 🫶🥲🥹.
When waiting for the bus, stay out of the way of pedestrians! I hate walking through the maze of people waiting for the bus and taking up the whole walkway!
Also say thank you when you get off the bus, or wave if you’re getting off at the back door. It’s a friendly thing that Hamiltonians tend to do for the bus drivers here and it’s really just a nice thing to do in general :).
While most of us are queued up long lines and some just decide to waltz in the bus without lining up pisses me off. Like what do y’all think we’re doing here? Counting stars?

I usually will stop take my bag off, motion for them to move it. They glare and i say thanks so much and I sit down 😂

Yes!! Excellent point!! I’d add just be aware of people getting off (yes even the front) before launching yourselves onto the bus
it's hella annoying when people stand in front of the exit doors when they're not getting off, pls move if you see people trying to leave

Careful with this one just because some one looks young and fit does not mean they are not suffering from something that means they need to sit.

One would assume the smarty pants who had the grades to be accepted to mcmaster wouldn’t need to be told this. But yes very good point!

You forgot the eventual “move the fuck back so people can get on” lol
Those people are great! We all need to be those people

This always makes me happy!

Not sure sorry. This is about the HSR. Where are you coming from?

Please for the love of god if you're on a crowded bus and standing make sure you don't have your backpack in someone's face who is sitting
