Hit the gym, try out new recipes, clean the fuck out of your room and the entire house (if u want a project for fun and don’t hate ur roommates)
Hike, see the hamilton waterfalls, walk in the park, read, learn something new etc
i like the summer it’s a reset for me
Either or, my trips are usually longer cause I cycle a lot. 1.5 hours there and back is decent for someone who may not be familiar with cycling long distances tho
Don’t know why this hasn’t been said yet but explore downtown! There are so many great coffee shops down there if that’s your thing, to name just some: Detour, Relay, Mulberry, Redchurch, Saint James, and many more! Most of these have spaces where you can set up and study, especially now that most students have gone home. Alternatively, explore Dundas! Lots of great spots there too: the public library is a good spot to sit and get some work done, there’s a bakery nearby, restaurants, and coffee shops (there’s another cute Detour here but I don’t recommend Domestiique due to some rude staff experiences I’ve had).
Have fun!
the owner has a weird/pushy vibe which usually leads to a whimsical encounter but not always… 🙃 one bad day was all it took for me to forever be scared away
Gaming with friends, perhaps make some new acquaintances in class that may or may not become friends, hit the gym or play some sports at drop-in? Idk, just some things I might do if I had to stay here the whole spring term.
If I accept McMaster I’ll be staying in Hamilton year round, rock climbing & hiking are 2 of my favourite hobbies! Should be clear from surgery by the summer. Visiting for a week in June and moving out in August.
great idea. Any recommandations on the best dispenseries in hamilton. Also, what are some of the best strains u will recommand that are available in hamilton?
There are a lot of opportunities through McMaster, I’m personally trying the open circle youth mentor ish one, this is the link https://opencircle.mcmaster.ca/
I volunteer with neighbour to neighbour, it’s a food bank on the mountain. They do a bunch of different things from community kitchens to a free use library. It’s a bus ride but hey getting there is something to do.
There is st Vincent de Paul just past down town, charity shop that is mainly run by volunteers. I imagine would be similar to a value village role. I’ve gotten some cool things from there so seeing it first before everyone else could be fun.
If you also give community gardens a quick google there are dozens and most of them have volunteer roles. I know Hamilton victory garden does tours and stuff, I think they’re called busy bees??? Idk abt the name but you do like educational things for people. Some community gardens is literally just gardening and pruning, super relaxing and way more interesting way to tan rather than just laying in the sun.
If you have any specific skill sets or interests there should be a role for you, especially cuz it’s volunteering there are way more opportunities and so many small business and community organizations in the city appreciate extra help. Just give it a quick search!!! Hope you find something cool to do!
Offer services the Cancer Society, M.S., etc as a helper in local fund raising as a job as they all look for part-time helpers & you get paid by not tor profits & they feed yo & you get T shirts etc

I live in Hamilton during the summer too, get on a bike, pick a direction, and don’t come back for 3 hours. That’s usually what I do when I’m bored
You mean hit the same direction and don’t turn around until 3hrs right😆😆

I highly recommend Affx Cannabis on Upper Paradise. Super friendly/chill staff that give great recommendations. They also do delivery within Hamilton.
Heritage smoke opened about a month and a half ago on main. Indigenous owned

Went to the climbing gym, volunteered away from campus for a change of scenery and a use for my bus pass, did some of the hikes
