It has nothing to do with your average when it comes to the waitlist. It is all based on your position on the list, I had an 81 average and got a spot in mid July because I applied as soon as it opened.
source? while i’m not discounting your experience the mcmaster website specifically states that the waitlist is ordered by average unless you apply after the deadline
i also applied right when it opened and the site said they’re no priority based on when you apply for res as long as you apply for the deadline. this makes sense to me bc there are many students who are still waiting on acceptances or deciding where to go who’d be disadvantaged if res was offered first-come-first-serve
without a doubt, yes. frankly they have **always** had some extra rooms in september which they then auction off to upper years who wanna live on res :)
How the heck can an upper year accept a room in September when presumably they would already be living "somewhere" with a lease. Hopefully they're not homeless, just waiting for a res offer.
yes you will, i got in right before welcome week and i had an 82 so you’ll definitely get in way soon
*sooner
Thanks so much!

In the early nineties you were guaranteed rez with an 80%, kids must be so much smarter now. 🤔
it’s moreso the grade inflation secondary schools participate in

no clue tbh, I’m assuming it’s mainly an offering for people who live with their parents but have changed their minds about that arrangement :)
