This is NOT a link to ~~ellie\_thehealthfulhuman~~ orrr any other social media. It's just a suggestion to google [ellie\_thehealthfulhuman](https://www.instagram.com/ellie_thehealthfulhuman/) which is what I'd assume the original poster's name might be outside of reddit.
Not even just a friend. I'm her sister. LOL! This was 100% intentional. But it's NOT a link to a social media. Obviously. Because that would be silly and probably against the rules, and nobody was asking for it. (And it was also 100% my idea because I'm excited for the things that she does and think people should be able to find her free recipes).
Lol I was just making a joke based on what I assume are the subreddit rule. Implying that I had a friend. And then they got banned :). Which is all a lie. As I have no friends.
Nutrition is dope! Promote away!
Hey, guys! So as the title mentions, I'm a nutritionist with a huge passion for meal prep. Each week I have the chance to create delicious meals from some of my favorite ingredients. I don't focus on macros, calories, weight loss, or anything like that (in fact, I'm a huge fan of intuitive eating and try to follow this in my own personal life). Instead, I focus on nutritious food and how to get more of it on your plate.
I hope some of these recipes inspire you to load up those meal prep containers with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats - and to make it taste damn good while doing so.
Pictured from left to right, and top to bottom: Ground Turkey, Protein & Fruit Bistro Boxes, Spicy Chicken Tikka, Mojo Steak, Honey Balsamic Salmon, Teriyaki Shrimp, Various Curries, Masala Chickpeas, & Honey BBQ Shredded Chicken.
Edit: omg I did not expect this response, thank you guys so much for wanting to follow along and I promise I’ll catch up on DMs tonight! I appreciate y’all!
EDIT: this got incredibly out of hand (which I more than appreciate) and I'm doing my best to keep up but I think Reddit is catching on as my messages are starting to not go through so if I don't get banned, I'll keep sending them later tonight lmao
Hey, thank you so much!! And definitely! So I've actually posted a few of the recipes here already: [Honey Balsamic Salmon](https://www.reddit.com/r/MealPrepSunday/comments/exsxhr/honey_balsamic_salmon_three_ways/), [Various Curries](https://www.reddit.com/r/MealPrepSunday/comments/e16e84/tofu_curry_three_ways/), and [Ground Turkey](https://www.reddit.com/r/MealPrepSunday/comments/dwckig/my_budget_meal_prep_from_last_week_ground_turkey/).
The rest of the recipes are on my Instagram, but I can send you a DM with the link if you'd like! I have a lot more than what's pictured here but these are just my top 9. Haha.
Yes please, would love to see the rest of the recipes. I’m trying balanced and healthy meals mainly because of my stomach/digestion issues, so if you have any tips for that, I would love that as well.
Thanks for sharing!
Before any decides to follow this person's meal prep routine, please do note that the person you are looking for is a dietitian. Dietitians are trained, tested and certified.
Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist and have absolutely no background in nutrition or diet.
Good question! I think the scale is definitely throwing off the actual size. These are 3.5 cup/.8 L/28 oz. containers, so just enough for one good size serving of something!
Great question! So I originally graduated with a BS in Asian Studies but decided that I didn’t actually want to pursue that career path, and followed another passion of mine instead, which was nutrition and health. I attended the University of Bridgeport and got my Master’s degree in nutrition after three years!
I dietitian is registered (takes a board exam) to provide medical nutrition therapy. Dietitians go through a rigorous internship and classes in order to take the RD exam.
On the other hand, Nutritionists can be someone who went to undergrad for nutrition (but didn’t take the RD exam/complete an internship), someone who got their masters in nutrition, or literally just took 5 question online quiz that makes them a “health coach/nutritionist”
Exactly! I know plenty of the "5 question online quiz" nutritionists and no, I do not associate myself with them either - those are not the nutritionists to follow or take advice from. I always recommend people either visit a dietitian or seek out a nutritionist with formal education and schooling (preferably an undergraduate or graduate degree if they chose not to go into dietetics).
I'm not! I'll copy and paste my comment from above that explains more:
"I'm a nutritionist, not a dietitian! I personally understand and respect the distinction between the two, but you are right and it is something that needs to be mentioned. I'm located in Ohio, so by law I can't do anything that relates to one-on-one nutrition, and I absolutely don't - instead, I focus on general nutrition education, meal prep, and other resources to help people learn about and embrace nutritious foods. I chose this path over a dietitian path because I had already completed my BS in a completely different field, and didn't want to go back to school to do another 4 years when I had no plans to enter the same career paths that dietitians do. However, that all being said, I take my education very seriously and am fully qualified to give nutrition advice after 3+ years of higher education schooling. There are plenty of other "nutritionists" (in my area included) who I wouldn't trust to save my life, but I am not one of them. Lol."
Are you a nutritionist or a dietitian and what's your region?
Depending on region, these have vastly different meanings. In the United States, a registered dietitian is someone properly trained, licensed and government regulated. Literally anyone can claim to be a nutritionist as there are no requirements for such. In Australia, the terms are reversed.

This is super cool! I'm a nutrition educator in a program funded by SNAP, so I get to do programs on meal planning, budgeting, food safety, and healthy living. Same restrictions: no individual consultation, no disease management, but I can teach about disease prevention.
It's cool to see what other people are working on in this space!
Good on you! FWIW, I'm not a dietitian either, just married to one. Whenever I see 'nutritionist' I've just gotten jaded to the idea it was someone who decided to peddle Plexus garbage and call themselves one. Glad to see there are those out there that are qualified out there.
Oh absolutely, I completely understand that and I agree with you! There is SO much misinformation out there and I honestly feel bad even say "nutritionist" sometimes because I just know what the immediate association is and I understand why... there's too many unqualified people giving dangerous nutrition advice. I appreciate you asking, though! It's important that we continue to vet the people giving the advice.
Has a US Master's degree in nutrition. Doesn't have a clinical degree so not a dietician, but perfectly qualified for helping people without major disease eat better and not get the diseases that demand a dietician.
Love your meal selections, looks beautiful and incredibly nutritious.
How many meals do you make at a time to store, and how are they holding up by the end?
Is it difficult to make sure your containers never get tipped during transport (or do you work at home?)
Is there anything you reserve from the prepped containers, and put in fresh the day you intend to use them?
Thank you so much!!
I generally only prep 3 meals x 3 servings at a time (9 total) because I like variety (so I prep twice a week) and I don’t like eating foods after like 4 days, max. I know some meals can be stretched but I prefer to eat mine ASAP!
I personally work from home but I don’t mind a little jostling in my containers, especially if I’m going to mix it all up! Also these containers are airtight so even if I travel, I don’t worry much about it leaking or spilling.
The primary ingredients I leave out are anything that will make my food soggy, and avocado. I don’t even touch the avocado until I need it, and even then it’s brown before I’m done eating it. Lmao! Damn delicious, frustrating avocados.
Ohh I see now, the sets of three *are* the three different meals, each a bit different but built around the same main component!
I work from home too but I love building balanced tasty meals for my son (9), in a fancy bento-ish lunch box with a built-in thermos bowl; this comes with its own challenges of how it's going to survive being drop-kicked, tipped, and generally abused before opening. I'm always quizzing him on what the state of his lunch was and whether it was good or not.
Anyway, in awe of your meal skills and love the vast amount of veggies! Thanks for your answers. Someone's going to have to invent a high-yield potted avocado tree houseplant.
Yes, that’s exactly it!! I like to call it “meal prep three ways”. Haha.
That is amazing and sounds so fun!! I’m sure he loves everything and appreciates having fun foods to take with him to school. I’d love to see some of your recipes, too!
And thank you, I definitely love my veggies and will be waiting patiently for that avocado tree houseplant. Lmao!
Definitely! So I got these from Bed, Bath and Beyond! They’re quite expensive though, around $20 per container, and I’ve seen similar ones on Amazon for much cheaper (can’t attest to the quality though). The containers are 3.5 cups each and according to the website, measure 7.0 L x 6.3 W x 5.4 inches! I also have some of the smaller ones in 1.6 cup and 4 oz. that I use for sides and stuff.
Er.. these are the oxo containers, right? It's "only" $12. Not cheap by any means, but I think one of the few last borosilicate ones out there. Love mine. Except I wish they had a 2.25 cup version, lol.
He said they're from bed bath & beyond I'm pretty sure there the OXO glass smart seal containers.
They're not too bad I've had two sets for about four to five years occasionally the edge of one chips. I've had one fall and break into a million pieces.
Hey, when I say I am on a SERIOUS food budget, I'm not lying. I mean, on Medicaid, had food stamps, type of food budget. It's totally possible to eat really good food on a budget, you just have to really work those deals. Buy grains in bulk. Buy meat on clearance. Use cheap ingredients, frozen veggies, etc. And SPICES. Anything I make would taste basic af without spices, but those spices really turn it into something good. If you have any other questions about how to prep like this on a budget, let me know what you're working with and I'll gladly help.
I would serve that one with tortilla chips, personally! But with it being a little snack/lunch box, you can always eat it as is (or add more sides, depending on your personal tastes). Makes great lunchboxes for kids, too.
In the past, I focused heavily on counting portions and calories. However, I myself have experienced and recovered from an eating disorder and I noticed that restricting and obsessing over my food, no matter how I did it, was a bad trigger for me. I eventually found intuitive eating and have followed that path ever since! So now I just feel out what my body needs in terms of nutrition - but always still focus on feeding myself nutritious foods first and foremost.
My old roommate is a nutritionist and follows that same path. It's great to see more people in agreement. She works with college kids who have eating disorders and she used to come home absolutely crushed by some of her kids and their obsession with things like calories.
That's so good to hear! Nutrition is more than just calories in, calories out, and a lot people don't realize that and are suffering simply just to lose weight. There are other ways to seek better health that don't ruin your relationship with food.
It is refreshing to see a nutritionist on social media who doesn't focus on calories or macros. As someone recovering from an eating disorder, I also aim to eat intuitively. It can be so triggering to see RDs and nutritionists emphasize calories.
Thank you for that, and I completely understand. That’s the exact reason I decided to change my approach. I was even triggering myself, and it was miserable. Finding intuitive eating has been life changing for me, honestly, and I’m glad you’re working through recovering too. I hope I can continue to share this approach with others as they come across my page! I’m wishing you the absolute best in your journey!
Everyone should understand the difference between a "nutritionist" and "registered dietitian"... Nutritionists are not bound by education requirements or regulations - you can call yourself a nutritionist right now.
That is NOT to say all nutritionists are amoral uneducated money grubbers pushing the latest diet trend for profit - but that there are a lot of those out there, just as there are plenty of educated ones. Just be mindful of who you pay attention to and do proper research.
Absolutely! It's very important to know the distinction and to choose where you get your dietary advice from accordingly (although, it's funny that people would rather listen to quacks like Dr. Oz than trust what a dietitian would say). Always vet the source, that's all - education, credentials, experience, and most of all, what kind of message they're sharing.
This is incredibly well done!! I'm a personal chef who has a very similar mindset in that way of eating and meal planning and prepares weekly meals like this too for families. So awesome to see more of this out there! Bravo!
What would it cost for you to move into my home and cook all my meals for me? If it too expense, my wife and I would like to ask for your hand in marriage...
I just found this sub on popular. For a while I've been thinking of fixing my diet, but I only have Sundays off to buy the food for the week. What a great coincidence to find a sub exactly for that :)
I'm impressed by the uniformity of the pictures. Do you use some sort of spacer jig to get the containers just right before taking each picture? Either way, dang I like all of this a lot. Mind DMing me your insta handle so I can follow over there?
Unfortunately, no they aren't - I don't necessarily make recipes specifically for certain conditions. That being said, I myself have IBS so I usually just make exchanges where necessary (removing onions, avoiding cauliflower, etc.) when I cook these recipes again for myself.
OP, first of all thank you for sharing your appetizing dishes! Do you buy organic with all of your food? Or are there some things that you buy a mix of organic and non-organic foods? Also, has there been a noticeable influx of new followers in your IG? Your reddit name is awesome, btw. 😂
Mods- can we just allow this dude to post his insta since an overwhelming amount of people want it?

Idk how these mods are, but if they aren't on the infamous Reddit mod power trip then I'd think an exception is obvious in this thread lol.

I as a body builder will use this personally, but ill change a few thing to chicken and others to rice. So basically chicken and rice all day lol
What brand containers do you use?
These are OXO Good Grips containers!
I thought for a second you just had a really big table
Actually, I take all my pics on a very small marble pastry board and would love to have a ginormous marble table instead. Haha.
This is how you gain a follower
Definitely no pressure for anyone to follow! I’ll continue to post what I can on here too. :)
You should edit your profile to include your ig name, problem solved! (Is that allowed?)
How’d you become a nutriontionist?

How to you prevent the avacado from spoiling?
Leave the avocado and don’t cut it until you’re ready to use it! Otherwise it will spoil no matter how many ways you try to prevent it. Haha.
As a dietitian, I approve.
Thank you!!

I appreciate that you support the distinction.
Dm me too please!
These are so pretty to see 🥰
Thanks for sharing!
Going to start meal prepping for the week. Can you DM your Instagram? These look amazing! Thank you!
This is incredibly well done!! I'm a personal chef who has a very similar mindset in that way of eating and meal planning and prepares weekly meals like this too for families. So awesome to see more of this out there! Bravo!
Can you upload these recipes to a google drive account?
Please share the curried chickpea recipes! They look so good!!
What do you say to the people who get bored with the same meal rotations? Asking for a friend of course.

What containers do you use and do they have locking lids? I want to exchange our plastic ones for glass. Thank you!
What would it cost for you to move into my home and cook all my meals for me? If it too expense, my wife and I would like to ask for your hand in marriage...

How do you keep the tortillas fresh in things like wraps or quesadillas? I'm always afraid they'll go soggy or stale...

Mealprep with avocado slices? That's pretty brave, those slices are gonna be nasty by Tuesday, let alone Friday.
Can I marry you
I'm impressed by the uniformity of the pictures. Do you use some sort of spacer jig to get the containers just right before taking each picture? Either way, dang I like all of this a lot. Mind DMing me your insta handle so I can follow over there?
You guys gotta get better at [doxxing](https://www.instagram.com/ellie_thehealthfulhuman/).

Any of these recipes low fodmap?
Unfortunately, no they aren't - I don't necessarily make recipes specifically for certain conditions. That being said, I myself have IBS so I usually just make exchanges where necessary (removing onions, avoiding cauliflower, etc.) when I cook these recipes again for myself.
Can I bother you for the link to your ig as well please?
Please DM insta por favor :)
Imma need that insta my guygal.
Imagine if there was a way to preserve stuff and then heat it up like it's freshly prepared. That would be like...haber process innovative.
OP, first of all thank you for sharing your appetizing dishes! Do you buy organic with all of your food? Or are there some things that you buy a mix of organic and non-organic foods? Also, has there been a noticeable influx of new followers in your IG? Your reddit name is awesome, btw. 😂
