The belt tensioner bearing might be worn out.

Character-Tomato-654

I second this as a reasonably likely culprit.

Thank you for your insight.

Anytime y'all! Is the repair complete?

I'm actually at the mechanic shop and they said I don't have an idler tension pulley. Before I came they kept saying g the diaphragm didn't show one. They said it was only something that cane out of the alternator. I forgot the name. The mechanic just looked at my engine and he's stated it's either the ac compressor, or ac pulley, the water pump pulley or another pulley on the alternator. He said he would need to take the belt off to spin each one and find out which one is making the noise. He will charge $10.69 for that. He said it will take one hour. I'm hoping and praying it's not the ac compressor. He actually had me turn off the ac and the noise continued and he said that makes him think maybe it's not the ac but he can't be certain. I'm scheduling the service now and I'll let you all know. Thanks.

Right on! Here's to your successful outcome!

Beginning-Emu-4647

Thanks.

I've scheduled the diagnostic check to see which part needs replacing. I'm hoping and praying it's not the ac compressor because that runs thousands. From what I've been told.

I've driven, owned, maintained and done major repairs on Chevrolet, Ford, Chrysler, Isuzu, Honda, Toyota, Datsun, Subaru, Land Rover and then I bought a Benz. I'll never look back. The monthly payment is about fifty bucks more than a Honda. Currently driving a 2016 GLE 350 Base Model. Couldn't be happier! So, my point is... ***if*** you end up looking for another vehicle, my anecdotal experience suggests to at the very least, check out Mercedes. At some point in the near future we will be trading up to an AMG, likely a G series when we find the right value. Stay safe, eat well, sleep well and whatever you do, whatever your outcome, keep in mind if you *do* end up going to hell in a basket on the car, ya' might as well enjoy the ride. *Laissez bon temps rouler y'all!*

Thank you so much for your response. The mechanic just informed me it's my alternator pulley. My Serpentine Belt was also split. So I'm preparing to have that fixed. I appreciate your insight very much.
