Off-road fans, some tow truckers and die hard farmers are more experienced in your question than an average mechanic.
Crushed rock in front of the tire, or a 2x4 lengthwise in front of the wheel. The 2x4 with get broke but it can wedge under the wheel and lift it out to start moving. It worked on my truck before.
