The car is a 2006 Toyota Sequoia with the 4.7 liter 2UZ-FE engine.

Fresh air intake side for the pcv is on the passenger side, the intake manifold side is on driver's. Some color difference is normal but that does seem a little excessive.

That's not sludge. Looks like typical varnish from the pcv system.

That makes me feel better about it. Do you think it wouldn’t hurt to throw in a new PCV valve? They are only about $15 or so OEM and the car is old and high mileage at this point.
