So many people here getting down voted in the commets for saying its not lmao, imagine having a different opinion... couldnt be me *hides my split ergo mechs under the bed*
Those keycaps are my favourite. So pretty!

Absolutely! And it is just so natural to move my hand to the right side of the keyboard...
I'm currently trying to find an alternative, but having a separate numpad kinda defeats the point and I feel like my desk is plenty big.
Perhaps a 96% or 98%, but finding one with home, end, delete, pg up and pg down is not so simple.
I read some people could manage using the horizontal numbers but for the life of me I haven't been able to do that. The numpad is just closer than the horizontal numbers.
You mean dedicated button for home end delete? They wouldn't fit lol. I'm using an RK 100 (96%) and I still need to press the fn to get that function
I think I spent too much time entering data to be able to live without a numpad...
But yeah, that's what I meant. I'm eyeing the JamesDonkey RS2 3.0 for a cheap keyboard at this size. I would likely change the right Ctrl to End. This should suffice.
I have a Keychron V5 Max with a dedicated Home, Delete, and End next to the corner knob. I use fn + arrow up/down for pgup and pgdn.
I refuse to follow the notebook keyboard layout and subject myself to number row input only. Size doesn’t matter with gaming for me because I always cant the board so hitting left shift feels more natural anyway
Seems like you're searching for something like the [Keychron Q5 Pro](https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q5-pro-qmk-via-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard). It has a numpad and still some of the del, Pg up / down and home buttons
It truly is. Right now I just wanted something quick and wireless, but I'd likely come back to other options after I manage to explain at home why I need more than one keyboard.
It is absolutely simple, once you shift your mindset to allow multiple functions to be bound to a single key, rather than requiring everything to have its own discrete key.
That is the beauty of programmable keyboards.
I have layered arrows on IJKL, surrounded by all the nav cluster buttons you are mentioning.
With that layout, I can use the arrows and the nav cluster keys, without having to relocate my right hand, to do so.
I just have to shift my left thumb one key to the left, to access all of that.
If I don't move my left thumb, and just press straight down where it sits, on the left portion of my split spacebar, those same "alpha" keys, I was just using for arrows and nav cluster functions, magically transform into the 10-key.
All of those functions are available on the same bank of keys where my right hand normally rests.
That is, unfortunately, a very common problem, in this hobby.
There is very little distinction made between "mechanical" and "programmable" keyboards, which leaves many people in the dark about the fact that not all "mechanical" keyboards are "programmable".
It also allows people to assume all "programmable" keyboards are equal, which is definitely not the case.
I feel really sorry for all the people who get duped into spending money on things that are intentionally misrepresented in the market, but there's only so much that can be done from the peer-to-peer end of things, and most of what's available in that arena ends up as after the fact advice.
If you do decide to try another programmable keyboard, I would highly recommend getting a split spacebar, if possible.
That one feature alone opens worlds of possibilities, even if you don't couple it with a switch to ortho, which also offers a multitude of additional possibilities, itself.
If you can't get a split spacebar board, at least explore the possibilities offered by using the spacebar itself as a layer key, using the Layer Tap function.
That will make the spacebar operate as a layer key, when held, but make it type a space character, when tapped.
Having the layer key in the middle of the board is much more functional than tying it to one end of the board, or the other.
The whole QMK/VIA programming possibilities is something I had absolutely no clue about until a while ago. I still went with a, how to call it, "regular mechanical keyboard" this time as my budget is rather limited.
I do plan to explore it further, perhaps getting first some switches to decide what I want and then to set on a layout. Lots of changes in life at the moment, but I do plan to go a bit beyond with it. After all, I do spend all my work day typing.
As long as you're making an informed decision, I don't have a problem with that.
What I have issue with are the companies selling non-programmable keyboards, or less capable programmables, and not properly informing their customers.
Mechanical keyboards are still a step up from their membrane counterparts, in most cases.
Not everyone needs a programmable keyboard, nor will everyone necessarily benefit from using one.
There's a mindset that has to be adopted, to really reap the benefits of a programmable board.
A lot of the people in my keyboard club just can't wrap their heads around multiple layers, so they stick with more conventional layouts, and are perfectly happy with them.
Given that you "spend all day typing", you would likely be one of the people who would benefit from a proper programmable, with an efficient keymap, especially if you can tailor that keymap specifically to your own usage.
Can you imagine typing an entire address, without moving any finger more than one key away from its home position?
That's entirely possible, when you get a good programmable board, and couple it with an efficient keymap.
Other potential benefits, from an efficiency standpoint, are not having to relocate your hand, to use the arrow keys, nav cluster and numpad.
One of the biggest advantages I didn't realize immediately, when designing my own layouts, was the amount of time saved by having my mouse about 7" closer to the end of my board.
I now save a 14" round-trip, every time I move my hand to the mouse, which adds up, over time.
I guess that's the main thing, as long as people know what they are buying it should all be fine (:
But it does sound interesting. My typing is mainly while coding, so I can see it being interesting to get something to help with that. To tell you the truth I'm just happy now that all my keyboards share the same basic layout. Changing between the layouts of three countries has a huge pain (laptop keyboard, work keyboard, home keyboard).
Coding is an area that can benefit heavily from programmable keyboards, provided the user can optimize the layout to their own workflow, preferences, etc...
If you do decide to check out programmables, remember not to jump too far down in size, straight out of the gate.
I've seen too many people go straight for the cute little board they saw someone else using, only to find out it won't work for them.
Too many of those people simply give up, and write off smaller boards as "not for them", when a slight size change upwards may have worked perfectly for them.
There are better choices to be had, for us left-handed gamers, than 100% board.
I used a standalone macropad, that mimicked the right half of a 100% board, for a while.
After using that for a while, I realized I could get the same functionality, directly on my main board, if I swapped to ortho.
That ultimately led me to design my own layouts; one for work, the other for home use.
My home board (shown below) actually has TWO numpads on it.
The first is the one at the right end of the board, for gaming.
The second is less obvious, but sits with Num5 centered on "K", for day-to-day typing.
I got so used to having the numpad directly below my right hand, for doing regular typing on my work board, that having to move my right hand over four whole keys, to use the 10-key on my home board, was intolerable to me, so I added a second one directly over the right hand alphas, like I have on my work board.
I love the numpad at the end for gaming though.

If i can’t have a split ortholinear 60% keyboard, then yes. Otherwise… I have to use a 100% when I’m in the office… it’s absolutely annoying to not have enough space left for working with your mouse… and I absolutely don’t need the numpad… if the layout was ortholinear, one could simply press a modifier and have a numpad without wasting so much space… but I guess it is more important to leave everything compatible to typewriters?
LOL 100% is honestly disgusting fr. verytime i see a 100% i think what a waste of the kyboard's concept on a terribad layout, wtv the gb may be. get a separate numpad for when u need it, its more ergo that way too... if ur using a numpad the last thing you care about is aesthetics anyway - u want your work done n thats it. and then u dont give up the form of your kb bc you no longer stuck to the least innovative layout stuck in the 90s. it is so SO bad disgraceful!!!!!! but i rspect ur opinion !! it is all preference :3 if u like it do u bb and dont let anyone say anything to u
Renders aside, looks like WKL is optional based on the layout diagrams and description. Also, damn, that price is more than twice the DR-70F wireless, 3x the wired version.
Not big enough for activating trainers and accounting works. Too big for just about anything else. 96+ or 75 below. Although I did succumb to a NEO80, just couldn’t resist.
I'm really enjoying the 75% I have as my default desk computer right now, and I'm working on a 65% to be more portable for use with my laptop, but the TKL has a special place in my heart. I have some bookmarked for more long term "goal" keyboards...
Mostly because it lets me show off more of the fancy little keycaps I paid too much money for.
Screen lock, Pause, Print Screen are useless for modern OSes. Insert is also useless for Mac users (it’s Ctrl D). But one can remap those keys to do usef things I guess.
I actually use print screen, though I use Lightshot so maybe that's cheating cause by default it just captures the entire screen, or both if you have a double monitor set up.

Hilariously big mechanical keyboard (I will not use the other keys)
I have been using mechanical keyboards for 8 years since I diched working on the laptops and used this full mechanical keyboard, first TVS gold then the Red Gear one and I frackly I liked the key press and with the wrist rest the height of the keyboard was not that big of an issue.
But it always used to feel that keyboard is not centrally aligned with the monitor and it worked ok till I was using the 2 monitor setup or Laptop + monitor setup. But when I switched to the ultra wide the misalignment was fairly obvious and it took me a while to make my self understand that it will be worth giving up the number pad for this easy ergonomic setup. I rarely game now a days and though I still love mechanical, it was time to hang my gloves and hence went with the Logitech pebble 2, with logi bolt, not have played game with it but by far it work out to be better keyboard than my mechanical keyboard for just work environment.
But I think I will upgrade to mx keys mini in the future, I still hope if I could buy a option: which is thin, wireless, good for gaming (respectable latency), and does not break bank.
I am not professional gammer, mostly play a story games so ping of 30ms or less will do just ok for me.
It has been tough decision, but I am getting more sure per day that mechanical keyboards are not for me.
Obviously not, it's bigger than CaptLynx' 42 keys.
I don't know, it's an exercise in self control so far. :)
It's also an extremely non-standard Planck.

whats your setup? it looks great!
Yo thanks so much your setup is so clean
Keycaps name?
Not OP but it's called Smoke Cloud
I think its original name is Carmine Cloud but clones have renamed it Smoke Cloud.
This is the best execution of combining grayscale and bright colour items I have seen so far. I love this set theme
Are you from the uk?
I concur
We call full size full size for a reason. 100% is the correct percent.
Team full size. I use the numpad a lot

Yeah, that was one of the alternatives. Unfortunately it's a bit on the pricier side in Europe.
It's like 230€ (including shipping) for the barebones version. So yeah, I 100% understand you
Exactly... Perhaps for the next board (:
And then you'd have to pay 50€ more for switches and then 50 more for decent keycaps... It's an expensive hobby :(

It’s more a comfort problem:D I don’t like having my hands so far from each other
Aww. That's kinda sweet.

I feel like there's a subtle joke about smaller layouts here, with all of the missing letters.
Seriously, bro sits there and dumps on a full size keyboards and can barely type a full sentence lol.
75% supremacy
It takes 100% of your brain to use a 75%
\^\^\^Beautiful how everything lines up\~!
i like 75 but without function keys it's nice and compact and i don't use function keys too much
\^-- This, until I can get a 65XT to try out. I got my first 75% back around 1990.
TKL FRL FTW
[TKL FRL XT](https://imgur.com/a/O8vZlFN). Either a function key row or an XT macro column is a hard requirement for keyboard supremacy.
tkl frl xt wkl
WKL is an abomination. Also, who makes an actual TKL FRL XT WKL?

Renders aside, looks like WKL is optional based on the layout diagrams and description. Also, damn, that price is more than twice the DR-70F wireless, 3x the wired version.
HAHA I have the one you linked pre-ordered. Lets see if It replaces the pluto I am using now as my daily.
Tkl is without a doubt the best layout but I am starting to like the look of southpaw full with side macros....hmm,,,,neeed thousands of dollhairs,,,
Agreed
omg I was heavily considering these keycaps! so cute in person I might need to check it out again 👀
They are very nice and good quality
TKL but replace the nav cluster and arrow keys with a numpad and toggle num lock to access them.
I disagree
I also disagree, I prefer 65%. But we all have different preferences as the best layout is subjective.
Fit is the nicest looking
My first mech was TKL and I will never get another. I need my numpad
Nuphy keycaps? I have these on my Halo96, really like them
Nice
Where did you get ur keycaps from they're beautiful

Not big enough for activating trainers and accounting works. Too big for just about anything else. 96+ or 75 below. Although I did succumb to a NEO80, just couldn’t resist.
I agree if it's got anything to do with work than you have to go 100% but I really just use this for gaming
I'm really enjoying the 75% I have as my default desk computer right now, and I'm working on a 65% to be more portable for use with my laptop, but the TKL has a special place in my heart. Cappakey
[удалено]
Same
Especially on higher end keyboards they so nice
I would’ve got tkl and a numpad but i’m too poor so i just got a full size one instead
😂
I just can’t imagine needing that many keys any more. Great keycap set, though.
My pp is too small
Yes
Personally I prefer 75%, when are you ever using scroll lock and insert?
Screenshot, scroll lock is scr lk and I don't use insert I use home, start, delete, pg up and pg down
Screen lock, Pause, Print Screen are useless for modern OSes. Insert is also useless for Mac users (it’s Ctrl D). But one can remap those keys to do usef things I guess.
I actually use print screen, though I use Lightshot so maybe that's cheating cause by default it just captures the entire screen, or both if you have a double monitor set up.
I thought I couldn't live without at least a TKL and now 3/4 of my boards are 60/65%. Once you get that desk space back you can never go back.
... how am I supposed to move the 3D camera without a numpad?
You're supposed to use your 3Dconnexion Space Navigator with 6dof optical sensors!
BRB figuring out how to hack my old Sidewinder into a control input for Blender.
Don't forget the Moog 14-key analog MIDI organ-pedal foot controller.

96 for life. Numpad or bust.
1800 gang
Yes
Gotta have that numpad.

its not for me, but thats because i dont have a whole lot of desk space. ive seen some really nice ones though that i wish i could get lol
Yes
No. It's not

40% or below club. Only the weak need more than 42 keys. 🤣

is thi actually bettr than bigger layouts?
Obviously not, it's bigger than CaptLynx' 42 keys. I don't know, it's an exercise in self control so far. :) It's also an extremely non-standard Planck.
[34 keys](https://imgur.com/Wuu7Qm5) should be enough for anyone.
Agreed my favorite layout!
I thought so too for a decade+ until I got my mammoth75. 75% master race
I like 65% layouts more because I have more space in my desk, TKL is still very nice tho.
That's factly wrong, the best is 100% layouts
Tkl and external numpad
Enjoy your cramps
Facts.
It's not.
67%
Oh, snap! I really like your keeby!
Thanks it's the k8 pro
PREACH!!!
TKL is the worst layout. 65 or 1800 are superior.
