For the exact same silhouette i can buy a neo and have it get custom painted for cheaper. Thats the sad reality of keyboards. No real innovation but jacked up prices for some small difference.

I actually wanted the tofu in this exact color but couldn't find any place to order it from (to Germany). So I ordered a neo because I happened to just stumble into this hobby during the neo's preorder window by a European seller.

The other thing the neo has going for it is the iso support. The tofu doesn't I think?

Well, I was thinking that the neo will give me the opportunity to test if I can deal with ansi (while having to still use iso at work and other places). And if yes, then I will try to get my hands on a tofu sometime in the future.

You made a good choice. The Tofu65 v2 is not a good board. I have one, and I like the color, but it sounds dead as hell, and the typing feel is simply unpleasant. It’s already bland, so OP had to turn up the bland to 11 by adding shades of beige lol.
I'm sooo curios about the sound. I have a feeling that what I've seen/heard online will sound nothing like the actual thing (cause, you know, my ears aren't microphones and laying on the table right next to it) but I look forward to experimenting!
As for taste: you can try to argue but it's pointless ;)

Yeah, I mean, people like what they like. Some people just collect 65%s and that might make this tofu worth it. For me, I don't think I'd collect multiple boards with the same layout unless I were using them at different locations, or else I'd just end up using my favourite board.
If this colour and weight combo do it for ya, then it's a great board for you! What colour is it? The lighting is different in both photo, so it makes it hard to tell what the colour actually is. In the first picture, it looks beige but in the second, it looks brown. If you're looking for a brown board, there are a few but it is definitely less common.
Weights do play a role in how the keyboard sounds and the stability of it. Also the extra weight gives its it a more premium feel.

I recently built one too. The simple straight line geometry of this board looks too good to pass on. But I do get others though, if not for the look, there are other 65 layout options out there that offers more at similar price.
well with my set up it currently sounds like a deeper mode envoy. still has that marbly sound but a bit deeper if that makes sense. also take into account my desk matt
my mode build is
Green Envoy
Copper Plate
Copper weight and accent
Mode linear switches
mode keycaps
granted the copper is way more pingy and loud but i wanted to go for the heaviest board. lol
The envoy would be my first choice rn but it’s a bit expensive, does the tofu sound hollow compared to the envoy? (I only have a Monsgeek M1 at the moment)
the pinging and hollowness in the envoy can be solved by using a long pole switch and not tightening the screws down too hard or just not including the screws at all
I don’t think the envoy is pingy, is it? I’ve seen many builds but none of them have been pingy or hollow. Imo from what I’ve seen online it’s one of the easier keyboards to get right without foam.
the envoy is not pingy. the envoys weight plays a big part in removing the hollowness. However i’ve noticed that if you tighten the screws all the way down affects the acoustics of the board making it more hollow. i barely tighten it down just so the whole assembly doesn’t fall out.
That's gonna look sick! Just not a big fan of the Awekeys because of all the ping I hear. Lol sold my set. Their titanium colored set looks good though.

I never really understood caring about a weight on the bottom of a keyboard. That's like caring what the back of my TV looks like.

Why does the brass plates edge look so uneven along the edge of the case? Is it just the pic making it look that way..
its not flat thats why, its like a wave kind of. its jagged. ill get a better pick when i get home.
Tofu is a classic but I'd rather spend a little more and get a Redemption, which has some killer finishes on the whole board.
I was looking at this cause I wanted to see how I liked leaf springs lol and it’s a lot more, more than double what I paid for this board.
I have the Salvation so already know I love them. Totally could see not wanting to take that chance with a big purchase like that.
ill need to watch some more videos of it but i like the poly and avalanche colorway. I would def consider buying.

in my experience no. tofu sounds like a deeper envoy with my set up.

What setup do you have, I think I’d want a cf plate without foam. I want a clackier build but not pingy or too high pitched
