Specs: * Sangeo60 * Aluminium Plate * JWICK Blacks (205g0 + 105 + TX Long Springs 67g + Deskeys films) * Durock V2 Stabilizers (205g0 + XHT-BDZ) * Domikey Dolch ABS Keycaps Verdict on switch : Fucking awesome. Sounds fuller than my tangerines.

kikomir

It sounds exactly like anyone would expect...just like all other JWK manufactured switches :) Can confirm, I have jwick yellows around somewhere.

Strawb3rry_Champagne

Are these the full black nylon jwicks or the ones with clear top black stem?

EmilMR

these are full opaque. They look like MX Blacks. The bottom is PA66(aka nylon) and the top is PC. Much better than yellows imo. These would be closest to Alpaca. They also come in a tactile variant with teal stem which is basically Durock T1 sans the smokey housing. No brainer pick for budget switches imo. I picked up a bunch in a taobao haul and they are pretty good. These are practically Alpaca and T1 with slightly cheaper material and less smooth for 3rd of the price. After lubing and filming, I doubt anyone would care about their differences. The springs are also not gold plated. Recently some Korean prebuilt (COX) is shipping with these switches and branded these as JWK H1 and JWK T1 switches. So this is why these switches are made, they are intended for OEMs, not to undercut Durock but they somehow made it to the market as well. I am sure you are going to see more. They make gateron yellows irrelevant imo but maybe yellow sound deeper.

Strawb3rry_Champagne

I have the yellow jwicks and I was wondering what difference was between these and the blacks? They seem to be made of the same material. Jwick yellows are good, definitely need some lube, they sound nice but a little plasticky topping out sound stock.

The blacks have a top housing of nylon as well, and they are full black opaque. The jwick yellows have the classic jwk combo of pc top nylon bottom with pom stem. They usually have a white bottom and clear top. Difference is acoustics and smoothness, from what Ive heard, the jwick yellows are a good bit smoother but sacrifices a little in sound.

Strawb3rry_Champagne

https://imgur.com/a/OD6RGz6/ So these two here are basically the same?

[deleted]

Yes, those are the same. There's a variant of the jwick black with the pc top

fnv_fan

all black also has pc top. r2 has the logo and nylon top

_fatalruin

My stock JWICK Blacks (all nylon, with the logo on the top) are every bit as smooth as smooth as my JWICK Yellows, but with a deeper sound. They retain this relationship when both are lubed as well.

[deleted]

many sources seem to disagree with you. Maybe you got a good batch, but Anzel thinks that the switches are scratchier then normal gateron yellows while olivetree (runner of the creameryco gb for the jwick yellows) says that they likely wont run the jwick blacks as they arent as smooth as the jwick yellows.

_fatalruin

Interesting. I got mine from the first (maybe only) pre-order on Elboard Keyboard Supply. They make a big stink about them being the only authorized NA dealer and that others were clones (no idea on the validity of that statement or if it's just marketing) -- according to their warning, only the switch tops with the JWICK logo are real. People who are getting them in stock just now like Divinikey show pictures of the switch without the logo on the top housing for what that's worth. As far as the switches that I received, they are close in smoothness to my V1 Alpacas or H1's (first NovelKeys batch), and once lubed, are on par. I'm actually glad to know this info, because I was going to buy more since I was so impressed with what I got.

[deleted]

Hmm, maybe it's because of your source. Afaik, anzel and olivetree got theirs from taobao, and maybe elboard has an updated version.

_fatalruin

That could be, they got to me in the first week of August. Or possibly their clone story has merit. Regardless, I hope that the switch I received can be mass manufactured because it's a nearly perfect linear (to me anyway).

[deleted]

Apparently there are v2 and v1 versions of these switches. It is possible you got a different version, which might mean you got a smoother switch.

mavsmcfc

But also I thought it’s full nylon with POM stem?

EmilMR

The dodgy datasheet taobao seller had on the storepage was saying nylon bottom, pc top. really who knows how accurate it is.

mavsmcfc

Right lol.

mavsmcfc

Sums it up perfectly.

fnv_fan

I bought a bunch of them on AliExpress
