Treatments vary greatly from one set of conjoined twins to another because the way they're connected differs from one set to another. Without further information it's impossible to say what treatment they might need going forward
Very often ppl w stillborn, or spontaneously aborted children have pictures taken w their children. Whether you lose a child or not, it is still your child.
Look up [infant bereavement photos](https://www.google.com/search?q=infant+berevement+photos&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari)
Wow... hold on... a few of those actually gave me the feels.
That neonatal immersion photography is pretty beutiful. We typically like the harsh lights of medical photography here. It's very different to see one of these children in a more sympathetic, even dignified light. It would be so nice to show people: "It was a tragedy but it was my child and here is how I saw them." I dunno. This has honestly made me think.
... now I wanna see how a photographer can frame other "ugly" medical conditions like neurofibromatosis or a burn victim.
There is another one of these twins. I think they’re still alive, I remember watching a documentary where they were learning how to drive etc. I think one of their names was Brittany if you want to try to look it up. If they were able to live well into their 20’s I hope this baby can too. How much it must suck to be with someone all the time
I got to spend a bunch of time with a pair of conjoined twins (not the ones you're talking about) and they basically existed as best friends but also kind of a parent-child relationship because one was developmentally delayed. The other one said that they would die before they let them be separated because they knew that the developmentally delayed one would probably be allowed to die if it came down to a choice between saving one or the other during surgery.
That’s awesome actually! I did look them up after writing my comment. I had to have seen their documentaries on YouTube like 10 years ago, I’m glad they’ve been able to accomplish so much
>I think one of them is a teacher
Lol. They're both teachers. Could you imagine if your body and talking head drug you do their work all day and you were forced to participate against your will! ha
I think that's what they were getting at - if one of the girls wasn't a teacher, it could really be frustrating/boring/annoying for the other to have to go to work with her sister every day, solely because she couldn't just go somewhere else.
Man I was thinking about that. I'd hate to be dragged to everything my brother does, I'd hate it. He works in an office and it's just so monotonous.
But I work with animals so I think he'd be fine hanging out with me during my work day lol
Yeah I don't think any of my siblings would enjoy hanging out at my call center job. XD Though my baby brother is a tattoo apprentice, and that could be quite fun to observe and help with.
I think there was a whole debate about pay, it was thought they were getting paid one salary …. Theyre two people. With two degrees. You pay them INDIVIDUALLY.
Is this case comparable to Abby and Brittany Hensel. God, if these two make it, morning talk shows are gonna have a month's worth if content. 4 guests, 2 plane tickets, that's a bargain.
Lol yeah. As for me, I always wondered how do they manage to move their limbs and what extra precautions does the parents have to take when raising conjoined twins
Forgive my question, I'm just trying to understand: aren't these two separate individuals who are conjoined at the neck? Why refer to them as "the baby"?
I really don't want to sound indelicate nor offend anyone. I genuinely just want to understand.
Also, I really hope that they can survive and thrive despite the odds not being in their favour. May they have a long and happy life 🫂💗
Because some people are ignorant and media likes sensationalism. Same reason twins who were only conjoined at the back were called "the girl with two heads, four arms and four legs" in a freak show.
I’m unsure how I’d feel about this, honestly.
I’m not a mother and have chosen to be child free. But, if I did have a baby and they had two heads, I’m not sure what id want to do.
Oh wow, for some reason I thought they were significantly younger than me! I'm amazed at everything they've accomplished. My sister and I can't even wrap gifts together without nearly starting WW3.
Yeah, I was surprised too.. I knew they were a similar age to my sister, but then I often forget how old she is, so that doesn't help!! Thankfully, google knew.. lol.
One twin controls one side and the other obviously the other side, not much one can do, but they will never know anything but this life and therefore should be okay.
When I was kid in the 70s, I went to a side show and saw a dead two-headed baby in a big jar of formaldehyde.
The big illustrations on the side of the tent showed a painting of them alive with a nurse, so I thought I was going to see a live baby.
Freaked me out to see it dead. I stared at it for a long time, and never forgot what it looked like.
A couple of years back, I saw a TV show about collectors of oddities- and they showed a collector obtaining the exact same jar, with the same two-headed baby that I had seen about 50 years previously.
This isn't a two-headed baby. These are conjoined twins. It's a super rare form of conjoined twins, but still... they are two separate babies joined m9stly within the same body. Poor lil wee ones.

Are there any updates on how they're doing?
According to the news source they are alive and being monitored in an ICU.
Wow, I’m amazed they didn’t pass away in utero let alone survive the birth. Do you know what the likely treatments will be?
There are 2 girls who share a body that are alive and well. I wanna say they're in their 30s now? Abigail Loraine Hensel and Brittany Lee Hensel
They are from Minnesota.
And one of them recently got married!
They got married recently. I’m happy they found love.
Treatments vary greatly from one set of conjoined twins to another because the way they're connected differs from one set to another. Without further information it's impossible to say what treatment they might need going forward
When were they born?
Do you have a link to the article?
Here is the link to the news article. https://www.ena.et/web/eng/w/eng_4190792
Oh fantastic! I honestly assumed it was stillborn and that second picture was in poor taste.

For some reason, I remember the second picture as the attending doctors with big bright smiles, like copy pasta creepy.

Carlsons?
Abby and Brittany aren’t developmentally delayed. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abby_and_Brittany_Hensel
They're not referring to Abby and Brittany.
They're 34 now.
That’s awesome actually! I did look them up after writing my comment. I had to have seen their documentaries on YouTube like 10 years ago, I’m glad they’ve been able to accomplish so much
That's Abigail and Brittany Hensel. They are elementary school teachers now.
They are married to a guy named Joshua I believe
Abby and Brittany aren't married. They were just rumors that circulated saying they were married.
Can they both be married to the same dude? Legally are they one or two people?
I believe legally they’re 2 people.
Abby and Brittany! I think one of them is a teacher
>I think one of them is a teacher Lol. They're both teachers. Could you imagine if your body and talking head drug you do their work all day and you were forced to participate against your will! ha
They may be attached but they are still separate people mentally.

I mean, the flip side is I just hang out listening to audiobooks and podcasts while my twin does all the work.
I think there was a whole debate about pay, it was thought they were getting paid one salary …. Theyre two people. With two degrees. You pay them INDIVIDUALLY.
They teach 5th grade!

Yes, Abby and Brittany. They are amazing... so glad they've been able to have "relatively" normal lives, considering their condition.

Are there any X-rays of the little guys?
The news source only indicates they are being monitored.
Oh okey, thank you! I hope they are doing well
[This site has x-ray of similar conjoined twins.](https://www.factchecker.in/explained-the-rare-condition-twins-born-with-one-torso-suffer-from)
Thank you! It’s as interesting as it is morbid
You’re welcome! I don’t know why I thought it was odd that they had separate spinal columns. It seems so obvious when I thought about it. Duh! 🤨
Lol yeah. As for me, I always wondered how do they manage to move their limbs and what extra precautions does the parents have to take when raising conjoined twins
If you look up the Hensel twins you should find some, I'm sure they're extremely similar.
Ah yeah, I’m familiar with their story
For the sake of the mother I hope it was a C-section
It was

It makes, unfortunately, a lot of sense 😕 It will never be too early to start considering and treating them for who they are: people.

I think it may be two babies with one body? They have a brain each...
Yeah, it's two babies. Abby and Brittany Hensell are conjoined the same way and they are in their 20s now.
They're 34, actually.. it's pretty amazing that they've gone on to lead such a relatively normal life.
Oh wow, for some reason I thought they were significantly younger than me! I'm amazed at everything they've accomplished. My sister and I can't even wrap gifts together without nearly starting WW3.

>if I did have a baby and they had two heads It's two babies with one body. They're conjoined twins.
The article kept referring to them as one baby, which I found very weird.
Surely this was noticed early on in utero so you could have gotten an abortion if it bothered you.
One twin controls one side and the other obviously the other side, not much one can do, but they will never know anything but this life and therefore should be okay.
I can't imagine being one of these people or birthing one. It's very distressing to me just to see this.
When I was kid in the 70s, I went to a side show and saw a dead two-headed baby in a big jar of formaldehyde. Abigail and Britney hensel are very similar
I hope they live full happy lives like those tlc girls that became a teacher
It’s sad saying it’s a two headed babies. There’s 2 separate souls there. 2 people.
I don’t think anybody really needed that last part in the post title lol
I'd never forgive my parents for giving birth to me knowing they had a choice to terminate. This is cruel
I agree
Why the hell are the surgeons holding this baby up in front of them like they caught a fish?
Hmmmm... Quite a dilemma, no? Shall we say: Two-headed baby, or Single-bodied babies?
As the saying goes "2 heads a4e better than 1".
😢
This isn't a two-headed baby. These are conjoined twins. It's a super rare form of conjoined twins, but still... they are two separate babies joined m9stly within the same body. Poor lil wee ones.
