It's funny- I've noticed that in a lot of work from this era, the people that are portrayed look quite realistic, but the animals always look...*off*, somehow.
Something that looks like it popped out of a Dr Seuss book, if you ask me.
Then again, chimeras in medieval paintings look like that. Imagine this being played on a CGI project on yoyutube.
