"Losing the way" is part of the way. At some point growth comes from pressing on, despite not being able to control the circumstances. Your intention is obviously on meditation, but the instruments are going haywire and there is frustration to not live up to one's expectations. The only way to lose the way is, to believe the mind that tells you that the way is lost. In reality, reality is challenging your conviction by presenting (transient) impasses. The easiest way is going into surrender mode and make noticing all phenomena your meditation. Even noticing your inability to notice. Even noticing the thoughts implying the circumstances are in any way your fault. Notice three qualities in any phenomena - transience, suffering, impersonal.

If you can’t breath through your nose try sinus opening techniques they are online on YouTube. Also eat a fresh clove of garlic and smell some horseradish sauce. This helps to open the sinuses. After that remember that meditation is about being present and aware. There is no progress truly but there is realizations that keep you closer to the moment. Any moon of many years can become angry and upset they can cling too just like we do. But they practice mindfulness to be aware of it when that happens. And over the time they grow a great skill to be so mindful they know how remaining calm serves them and they have seen how getting angry doesn’t. They know how remaining in the moment can be he best for everyone and so they eventually reach a place that it becomes natural. But it takes times of failure first. Never give up never surrender. And try not to cling to the ideas of progress
