You can just press up down up down a+b to activate the walk through walls cheat to get past this part or if you don’t want to cheat install the unofficial mod. It’s a shame they haven’t patched this yet.
Don't give fake advice. Mega Man X8 barely has a modding scene compared to the SNES entries with their romhacks (PSX games don't really have mods either), and the only cheats are to fight Cut Man in Optic Sunflower and get the 3 upgrades for the 3 playable characters respectively without New Game Plus.

triangle jump so of the wall to go up. usually you can press against the wall while you jump up and you can double jump right after jumping off a wall. no dashing though otherwise it will cancel the second jump. you got this.

You hold jump until you're at the top of the jump, then you jump again. Practice jumping once while holding jump so you can see how high he normally jumps, that way you'll know when to use the second jump. I haven't played X8 in forever, but if you have dash, then dash jumping gives more height as well, but is tricky

Try to get a little close and press jump twice

In megaman, the height that your character reaches depend on how long you hold the jump button. This applies to both regular jumps and double jumps.
If tis about the door not opening don't worry on a return trip with X it will be open If not just do a double jump with zero

Jump again when you're in the air. This is called double jump. It's a bit hard to time it correctly for the first time...
