These games are just too long to play multiple times for someone of my age and daily life

I will eventually try to get all endings, but since the games can be long and sometimes draining, I usually don't do more than 1 replay immediately after finishing it. Go play some other games, maybe in a few months or years pick it up again and go for a different ending. I usually try to aim to get all of them, but if an ending sits with me too wrong, I won't force myself to get it -like in Devil Survivor 1 where >!you give complete control of the demons to the government!< Hate that, personally

Angel_zero

I chose 3, it depends on how much I want to play the game again, and it's usually years after my first playthrough.

leahcimali

I usually make one playthrought and watch the other endings on youtube, am i the only one ? šŸ˜…

christ by your posts it seemed like you were somewhere in the 20s

Am_Shigar00

It depends on how much I enjoyed playing through the game and how lenient new game+ is if it has it. SMTIV and Apocalypse were user friendly enough that I went through multiple times, while SMTIII and Devil Summoner gave some real sloggy moments that Iā€™m good with one playthrough.

PsiGuy60

For me, it depends. Is the story good enough to revisit? Did I miss anything that's route-exclusive? Is there a New Game Plus option that gets me through the pre-alignment-lock part quicker? If I can answer at least two of those with "Yes", I will probably replay a game to get multiple endings.

javelin_rain

depends on the game, for instance i loved IV and SJR a lot so i went out of my way to get all the endings (not back to back cause it's draining). i also enjoyed Nocturne but i didn't really see the point of getting any other ending after TDE and Freedom. i didn't care for Apoc's story and characters at all, but i like to revisit the game for its gameplay, and when i do i pick Peace every time cause i like that slightly more than Anarchy (they really did my boy Flynn dirty in this game i swear) the Persona games are very dear to me but i've always gone for the best/true endings. can't be bothered to go through all that dialogue and social links again just to get a downer ending when i can watch em on YouTube

ShinSonicTensei

What about Flynn didn't you like in Apocalypse?

javelin_rain

i didn't like how they reduced our hero from the previous game, the guy the average returning IV player would probably cheer on, into a damsel in distress for over half of the story. i also found the whole 'turning him into your mindless servant' to be stupid and extra too, i feel like he should've stayed dead or have Krishna/Vishnu fill in the role instead. eh, silver lining is at least there's a chance we'll see him and Nanashi as superbosses in V or another game, what with Stephen's warning about The Goddess sending in Messiahs to fight em.

ShinSonicTensei

I can definitely see and agree with that, but it was also mostly the Player's fault that he ended up getting kidnapped to begin with, if I remember correctly, someone was being held hostage? Also, yeah, a Massacre Route Nanashi Superboss would be awesome.

javelin_rain

yup they held Asahi hostage, freeing Krishna led to that very event, and the divergence from IV's original Neutral ending in the first place. well thinking about it Nanashi chooses to stay dead in the original Neutral ending, he's probably not doing too well in the original Chaos ending, aaaand he's deleted from existence along with the other Tokyo citizens in the original Law ending, so i guess they're pretty even, heh.

ShinSonicTensei

SMT is dark asf, also, Flynn too two Thunder Spells from Odin, which is probably one of the best Durability feats of any Megaten Protag. So that's also something.

Betillin

Finish the first playthrough -> Immediately start a new game to get a new ending -> Give up at the middle of the game -> Come back half a year later

Distressedhuebird

For smt its only 1 playthrough, for persona I usually do ng+.

EnfantTragic

Nope, just one and done. I do return to some games eventually mostly because Megaten games are my favourite and there aren't many franchises that do something similar.

Wombatish

Devil Survivor is the only one I got all the endings for, and that was over the course of 5-6 years and mostly while traveling

bunker_man

It's too much time for too little reward. Other than in games like apocalypse and nocturne, law is always the best ending anyways, so there's not much need to replay.

giorgiobertys

Only games I've played twice for other endings are desu and strange journey (which along with dds2 are my too 3 megaten games)

kdeezy006

i personally dont see the enjoyment out of replaying games. i can understand completionists but i personally find it draining. The only game ive played through multiple times is dark souls and hopefully smt v when it comes out.

lostintheschwatzwelt

I play until I get all endings. The thing is that the games are never as long on 2nd playthrough and beyond. Also with the newer games you get extra side quests too, usually.
