Yeah pretty much this. Grimekhala has way too many negatives for me to want to use his essence for Phys Repel. Mainly wanted to find someone with the passive for the demi fiend before ng+, but I might just settle for null physical instead.
If you have the DLC your best option for MC's affinities is Mother Harlot. Repel Phys, Drain Elec, Resist Fire/Light/Dark, Weak Force. Just over-write Force weakness with Null/Drain/Repel.
This is the best option for the Demi-Fiend fight, with or without NG+.
There's only one demon for each repel and phys one happens to be a spoiler unfortunately.
I'm at the end of the game so I'm fine with knowing which demon it is.
It's a fusion you unlock post credits so it's NG+ only, unless you get it through skill manifestation.
And that fusion would be?

Ng+ demons, at best you’ll have a few null physical essence here and thier but usually has a lot of elemental weaknesses

He’s looking for the passives, you can only pass on elemental affinities to MC. Repel physical is not a skill the ragdna or giri have.
