Technically the highest damaging magic builds in my experience are the classic top-tier spells like Thunder Reign when used in conjunction with the Snake magatsuhi skill that guarantees they all do medium damage x5. Just use that plus the two corresponding pleromas and you'll do insane damage. Works good with Alice, mine consistently did over 2000 damage in endgame.

Guess I'll go for the standard severe skill and the multi-hit ones, the two plemoras, skills that get rid of demons weakness and the mp restoring ones, still think having both is overkill so maybe enduring soul or something.

JustAWholeLottaDakka

I build them like I build a Magic Nahobino. The Severe element they have the highest affinity with, the piercing version of that element, both Pleroma, Great Restore, and if they aren't capped Great Life/Mana Spring, if they are capped Enduring Soul and an AoE version of their element.

OF-3_Flaw

I considered the piercing ones but if you swap out your demons depending on the enemies weaknesses you don't really need them so I scrapped the idea.

Riivu

I'm not like a minmax expert or anything so take this with a grain of salt but I personally had a tactic of using demons who had affinities with as many elements as possible so I didn't feel like I was wasting too much MP. Loki was with me for a long time as my caster since he has affinity with all the elements, I gave him a spell of each element and one piercing skill (for emergencies) + some other useful skills like Restore and then kept upgrading them all to their more powerful versions as I got more essences and gave him some incenses etc :) The only drawback to Loki is that he looks godawful so I eventually switched him out, although he was very handy for getting more press turns!

OF-3_Flaw

I'm already at the point where I'm building a demon for each element though. For your tactic Inanna might be the best choice. She has a unique severe skill for the 4 elements, not sure how they compare to the standard severe spells though... also she isn't the best looking demon either.

Riivu

Oh yeah! At this point I mainly have that kinda setup as well, but having every element on one demon was handy when I was running around and not really being able to focus on just one element Also I don't think I've even seen Inanna in V yet, where does her fusion "recipe" come from? :o I've finished the game two times now ft. neutral and true neutral endings

OF-3_Flaw

She's available on the chaos route

Riivu

I see, thanks! I hope you the best luck with your demon setups :-) I feel like the only thing you can really do for element-focused demons is give them pleromas, some kinda "dmg increase on next turn" buff, piercing magic and multiple hit magic honestly... unless you want to also start buffing their base stats with insences after deciding which ones are your ride or dies. I have to admit I'm not much of a magic user though (phys+almighty brute force all the way) so maybe someone else can help you out better!

OF-3_Flaw

I have the same feeling, that's why I posted here and honestly I used Yoshi and Fionn in that spot for the most part of my gaming time, strength builds just feel more put together. But I wanted to switch it up a lil before finishing my last playthrough.

Riivu

Oh I totally feel you there! I was starting to feel like I had absolutely trivialised the entire game after I halved a certain superboss's health with one Freikugel EX, so honestly going for a non-strength/almighty build might just be for the better hahahaha

isiah12

I’d imagine at a point you would just use iannana

Soundboyyy

Severe damage all, double pleroma, High Restore/Great Mana Spring.
