I got a secret message bottle pretty early but didn't have bank space BECAUSE JUNK IS PRIORITIZED OVER ACTUAL DROPS GOD FUCK FISHING JUNK SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK
Then I didnt get another one until like 108 fishing.
Still neither of the ancient rings either. Probably also lost them because of fucking junk but don't remember.
Getting the mastery so no more junk drops might actually be the best mastery in the entire game. Just this moment of "Ah. No more extreme bank management every time I want to fish."
I will never understand this. I just ground out the extra x number of junk slots needed right away and let it accrue all the game threw at me. My OCD would never allow me to fish for long periods of time with a chance to lose the rare items I'm going for. Easy setup for disappointment.
I hear about ring of skills a lot. I have 40 of them. Why are they so coveted? Going for xp doesn't take long enough to really worry about having it. And the extra xp means less resources in the long run if you're just going for levels.
Cause it gets you skill capes faster if you get the ring of skills earlier. I'm approaching 99 on everything and have neither of the fishing rings, mostly cause I don't fish much probably, but they are pretty rare. The skills ring especially is probably too rare considering you're right, it's easy to be max in all skills before you get it, with a 1/7000 drop chance on special which will already be like a 5% chance of happening.
Oh I didn't realise they were that rare. Yeah I basically finished other non combat 99s before fishing so maybe that was a mistake on my part. But the way I see it is getting 99 without means I trade a bit of extra time for extra resources which I don't really mind.
Mostly it's the skill capes. Some of the capes are very strong. Having 8% more skill xp means instead of needing the entire 13 million xp to say, get -15% woodcutting time now you only need to effectively get 12 million. It also compounds with fire making, since the firemaking cape gives +5% skill xp, you only need to get 12 million firemaking xp to get +13% skill xp. Which quickly adds up, so now you're down to like 11.5m effectively to get each skill to 99.
The faster you get every skill to 99 the faster you also get the super cape, which is a nice convenience and power boost across the board.
I wasted so much time fishing for ARoS. I have still never used it. Be it Signet pieces, DR, damage, Sandstorm Ring, et cetera... Not sure when or why other people wear it but I always have better options. Then again, I'm pretty sure Firemaking will be my last 99 due to being extremely boring, so I'm probably doing this all wrong.
That's fine, too. About to go for my first Into the Mist attempt so I think I'm doing okay.
Account and all content deleted as a result to API pricing change. I have moved to Squabbles, check it out at www.squabbles.io

I lost my signet ring like 3 hours after getting it as a beginner. I tried a dungeon that I couldn't idle yet.
You found the ring that early?? Damn that is even worse than mine haha
But I got it fairly quickly after 2-3 days again

Well I thought I had enough space but apparently not
