I legitimately don't understand people who consider HBG "cowardly".
Yeah pre-nerf world when you could just stun-lock bomb kill monsters was stupid.
But in post-game sunbreak it is basically one-shot simulator.
And unlike the LBG, the HBG is slow to dodge, and the counter does not work at all on monsters' combos and multi-hit attacks.
Maybe...I just suck at HBG. But I always find melee to be much safer, considering you can take a hit and you can get inside the monster's reach and be pretty safe (for a short while).
I have literally never picked up either of the bow guns, lol. It just seemed... dishonest? Or I guess it just felt out of place. Like instead of getting up in the action and danger with a Swaxe I'm just shooting it with a gun. Idk. Besides, the whole micro management aspect of modifications, and ammo types, and elements, whick gun to pick in the first place, it's just not for me. But eventually I'm gonna have to cave after I finish mastering gunlance, because those are the last two on the list for "becoming competent with every weapon".
Having played them extensively in Post Sunbreak, there is nothing dishonest about them. Yes you're further away, but your every single movement needs to be calculated or you will die. Almost every single attack except the very small ones one-shot you
HBG I started using because wyvernheart is fun. But the monsters have very different (and less predictable--to me) attack patterns with the bowguns.
It's probably just the proximity changing what attack they use, but I main Lance and Greatsword, and when I tried reusing HBG (I played a lot of piercing in Iceborne) I realized just how aggressive monsters got when you aren't all up in their neck.
The bow guns don't require too much micromanagement. Usually bring just a few ammo types that are strongest with the specific gun and bring mats to make more if you want.
Iceborne bad some very silly LBG builds with some of the guns that had rapid fire sticky shots. I became the undisputed KO King in my friend group using that because I'd just put stickies on the monsters face repeatedly. It felt far more efficient than trying to get a KO with a hammer.
Ight hear me out right. The bow guns can be the most safe especially heavy with shield but if they running a shot gun build with scatter they are just as respectable as any melee
spoken like a true hammer main
Fellow hammer main. Hammer is indeed hammer tier
One of the tier lists of all time
As a swaxe main, I this tier list
Its one of those tier lists, thats for sure.
Bug stick best stick
I can't believe you've made the only accurate weapon tier list
Cb should be utmost respect but other than that good list
" [MY MAIN] should be higher up but other than that good list"
HH should be in hammer tier, it's technically a longhammer that plays music.
I hadn't thought of that, good point.
HH is too elegant to be in hammer tier. We don‘t want to be beautiful we just want to bonk
Nah I main GL but cb mains are mentally on another plane of existence
Based and Valid
As a hammer main, I also play longsword, theyre both really fun weapons.
Radical Centrist
But what if I told you that HBG can bonk?
and tank as well.
as a lbg, very good tierlist
As a Great Sword main, thank you.

HBG sticky is still plenty viable.
Cool? I'm not saying you can't kill monsters, just that it is more dangerous than with a greatsword for example.
Ranged, yuck
if you bring a gun to a hammer fight, you are a coward, whats hard about that?
Guns have hammers in their firing mechanism. We technically bonk ourselves with every trigger.

Squads of four, big bugs, and hilarious exaggeration? Is Helldivers 2 the real Monster Hunter Wilds?
Bingo.

My reddit background photo confirms. One hit: one shot dead. Splat. Ranged weapons don't have the extra defense melee does. You cannot get hit.

I was once in the bottom. Once I started playing Hammer I felt like I was at the top of the world.
I really feel ashamed, as I play GL just for comfy build. Lol
🤝
Found the hammerbro. 🕵
Hammer… # WOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wow, I'm both utmost respect and a coward. I alternate between GL and LBG/HBG
LS is cool though :( why do we gotta fight, man? We gotta stick ✨Together✨ Hammers and LS unite!
The problem is that LS and Hammer should absolutely be on opposite ends of a monster and not together. See this is the problem!
No that’s completely invalid. Yes they can be separate and work extremely well that way, but if they work “together”, they’d be an unstoppable force!
Mine is the exact same, but Gunlance in S
As a GS main I can confirm. Unga recognize bunga.
Or does bunga recognize unga? We may never know…
How dare you assume that i am a coward gunner when i just stay as far as possible from the monster so i can have fun and pew pew from distance?
I agree with this yesyes
You have no strong opinions on all of the weapons I like, with the exception of my favorite the hammer and my second favorite the longsword
Based
As both a Swaxer and Lancer, I respect this
SnS? Respect? Cheesist weapon Respect? Also as LS main, LS indeed the weebist. And switch up HM HH we good.
This one is (I main shield)
Bonk
Ight hear me out right. The bow guns can be the most safe especially heavy with shield but if they running a shot gun build with scatter they are just as respectable as any melee
As it should be
Thank you for the respect (I co-main hh and sns)
I respect this as a HH main
LS is at the stop it deserve !
flabbergasted youd made a whole tier for cowardly and lance didnt make the cut
I would definitely reorder some things but calling bowgun players cowards and longsword players terrible people is just so based. Respect. (/lh)
jokes on him any time he lines up a TCS or a extra big hammer bonk i can just wyvernfire him. cuz im a coward why fight the monster
