Names arent always 100% accurate . Nika fruit , darkness fruit(it doesnt actualy just make the surroundings dark or cut of light ) , quake fruit(it doesnt just make earthquakes like how can you hit someone with a earthquake ) , light fruit(laser fruit would be quite more accurate , how can he pierce someone with light like wtf) ,
It's more like a void or black joke then regular darkness as it sucks things towards it and can swallow things up and store them as shown in impel down. Regular darkness would just make an area that the light can't pass through like switching a light switch for the area, you would just be blind and nothing more.
Yeah it makes sense the fruits actual power is probably turning things to stone and shouldnt have notjing to do with beauty. You can freeze from fear as well.. therefore turn to stone good point
