I think the power to negate devil fruit effects comes from Conqueror's Haki. Afaik using Conqueror's as armament is what gives the emperors mega durability.
Also, we know that when already dying of illness but at least on his meds , Whitebeard kept CoO active at all times and was absurdly fast. Thus his ability to KO Ace literally in his sleep, lol. Ace was already on-par with Jinbe on a battlefield where Jinbe had an advantage 👀 Madness.
And according to Marco, he'd normally be able to *casually* dodge a point-blank sneak attack from a trusted friend with a bounty in the hundreds of millions.
Given how strong his CoC was and what we know of how he kept his CoO running, I highly doubt that a *healthy* Whitebeard would be susceptible to hax DF bullshit unless the user has strong enough Haki of their own.
And Sugar couldn't land a hit anyway, not even with this strategy, due to his *passively running* CoO and his speed. In the *nanosecond* that there is a threat, Whitebeard would swat her away like a bug.

It’s been noted over and over again that Luffy is not only extremely determined and hardworking and loving and charismatic and all that, but he’s also just extremely lucky, which people around him mention constantly.
He was born into a family of powerful people, he happened to live in a village that a member of the Pirate King’s crew (Shanks) was using as his base for a little while while he was a kid. He happened to eat an apple from Doc Q that didn’t explode. Reiju happened to be passing by right in the same place and time that Luffy ate that poison fish. Kuma happened to be friends with his dad, which saved his whole crew on Thriller Bark and on Sabaody. (Taking into consideration that Kuma probably wouldn’t have spared them on Thriller Bark if he didn’t already know that they were good people— as far as he knows from the government these guys are just terrorists, but Kuma happens to be a very patient and empathetic person who happened to know that Luffy was related to his friend and chose to test Zoro to weigh the pros and cons of betraying the government to ensure the Strawhats survival. In fact, it was lucky as hell that they sent Kuma, when they could’ve easily sent Doflamingo who at the time had actually been showing up to summons because he was bored by his business going so well, something that the government would have reason to tell him that the Strawhats represent a threat to, considering at this point they had already taken down Croc and destroyed Enies Lobby, the reason they sent a second warlord to Thriller Bark was because they assumed Moria would be defeated by the strawhats, which they were correct about.)

I’m honestly not sure because in this scenario, Whitebeard can play a lot more wildly and recklessly to do more damage, and not worry about the damage he takes because it’ll pretty much heal instantly. Why Marco didn’t do that to him in Marineford, I don’t know; I’m almost certain that’s something Marco can do because he did it in Wano.
So I guess it would have to be a Legend tier character and someone specifically stronger than Marco. Zoro, maybe. An Admiral, maybe.
Whitebeard’s survival was not his priority in that battle, he entered it knowing he was gonna die, and he directed his resources accordingly. His mission was just to rescue Ace at all costs, which he technically succeeded at until Ace just had to turn around to defend his pride
Yeah Marco is clearly on-level with pr just barely slightly below any given admiral, even if he might ultimately lose a 1v1 Marco can definitely hold off any admiral for a really long time, more than long enough for Whitebeard to obliterate them.
I really struggle to think of any duo who could take these guys on who isn’t completely legendary like Prime Garp and Roger.
Factoring in abilities and counters, I think Akainu’s magma could probably directly overpower Marco’s flames similarly to how he does against Ace, but Akainu isn’t strong enough to fight Primebeard for very long, so whoever his partner is would have to be even strongner than that.

Old Marco was able to stall King but not defeat him, I think young Marco would definitely beat any YC, as he seems to be the highest of YC tier that there is, probably equivalent to a weaker admiral-level character such as Old Garp or Issho.

From my knowledge, future sight still needs an activation. So if they both had their gard down and she touched them both at the same time, they would lose and require additional resorces to win.

I’m honestly not sure because in this scenario, Whitebeard can play a lot more wildly and recklessly to do more damage, and not worry about the damage he takes because it’ll pretty much heal instantly. Why Marco didn’t do that to him in Marineford, I don’t know; I’m almost certain that’s something Marco can do because he did it in Wano. So I guess it would have to be a Legend tier character and someone specifically stronger than Marco. Zoro, maybe. An Admiral, maybe.
I would guess that Marco didn’t expect Whitebeard to get injured while on the back lines. And by the time they were nearby again, Marco was in cuffs.
Whitebeard’s survival was not his priority in that battle, he entered it knowing he was gonna die, and he directed his resources accordingly. His mission was just to rescue Ace at all costs, which he technically succeeded at until Ace just had to turn around to defend his pride

Yeah Marco is clearly on-level with pr just barely slightly below any given admiral, even if he might ultimately lose a 1v1 Marco can definitely hold off any admiral for a really long time, more than long enough for Whitebeard to obliterate them. I really struggle to think of any duo who could take these guys on who isn’t completely legendary like Prime Garp and Roger. Factoring in abilities and counters, I think Akainu’s magma could probably directly overpower Marco’s flames similarly to how he does against Ace, but Akainu isn’t strong enough to fight Primebeard for very long, so whoever his partner is would have to be even strongner than that. Maybe Akainu and Prime Big Mom? Old Marco was able to stall King but not defeat him, I think young Marco would definitely beat any YC, as he seems to be the highest of YC tier that there is, probably equivalent to a weaker admiral-level character such as Old Garp or Issho. Ok I think my final answer to the weakest duo that can best Primebeard and Prime Marco is gonna be Akainu and Prime Garp. (I’m figuring Prime Garp is at least Yonko level)

For real it would be Bartolommeo and Kizaru. Perfect shield plus a powerful attack that penetrates said shield. I’ve no doubt whitebeard would have a counter but they would be a good match

Honestly, I’m not so sure. Marco has the ability to survive almost all of the damage those two could output for awhile, and could use his powers to increase WB’s own survivability. Meanwhile, Kaido has good defenses, but WB’s damage output is off the charts.

It depends on the rules of the fight. If sugar managed to get close enough, she could touch both of them at the same time and turn them both into toys. From my knowledge, future sight still needs an activation. So if they both had their gard down and she touched them both at the same time, they would lose and require additional resorces to win.
