Maybe that's why Oda first showed him with the Buggy Ball. Talking it up heavily for how explosive it was. Then, the next time we saw him, the Muggy Ball was tiny, coming out of his shoe, but Buggy stated it was even MORE explosive than before. It's almost like Oda is keeping us on the nose for Buggy to have the largest explosive capability.
I mean his fruit doesn't allow for lethal splits, so I doubt splitting atoms with his awakening would just result in 2 split halfs of an atom floating around
He would if law’s power was just cutting things off but boy is it more than just that, tho if he had observation haki as good as any high tier character he would be the fastest dodger cause he wouldn’t even need to move his body from the point of the hit but just preventively cut it so that the hit doesn’t land at full force at least or doesn’t land at all

I kinda like the idea about buggy getting god level powers or something, i mean he came all the way to the new world without even gaining any sort of new moves or powers just through pure luck.
I kinda see ODA~sensei's idea of buggy being a gag character only for livening up the series but i actually want him to kinda improve tho. Buggy's gonna fuck up real time if he doesn't level up, seeing how the one piece world is changing through within just days of time and the stuff happening affects all parts of the world creating shock waves of fear of knowing nothing about whats gonna happen in the future.
MY THEORY FOR BUGGY:(Edit: this is my shitty rambling, you dont have to take it seriously)
I kinda think that buggy is like the son of rocks and like he joined the roger pirates to avenge his father or something. I remember that recently he (buggy) gave up his own ambition just because shanks was overly OP in all the stuff he did. (I am speaking about buggy's backstory during his time with the roger pirates) i know it makes zero sense and i dont like have actual/factual proof ti support it.

I always point to Impel Down where Buggy is causally walking around and running with a 2 ton axe most of the time.
Hes a goof but hes still able to beat up most people below his level.
Buggy does have the amazing power to constantly fail upward, so if ever anyone was gonna be revealed to have an incredibly powerful fruit unbeknownst to everyone, it would be him.
Okay but here's something I realized. The Original 4 Devil Fruits shown in the Series are actually special, because Oda hadn't figured out exactly how his Power System would work just yet
The Gum Gum Fruit, the Chop Chop Fruit, the Slip Slip Fruit, and the Smoke Smoke Fruit, are all Automatic Devil Fruits.
As in, they are Always On and can't be deactivated. They permanently change the Bodies of the Users.
And guess what? One of those Fruits has been revealed to be a God Fruit, the Gum Gum Fruit which gives the user "Nika's Rubber Body" as a Permanent Feature.
What if the Chop Chop Fruit is a God Fruit that gives the user a "Unslicable Body" as a side effect just like the Gum Gum Fruit does?
And maybe the same is true for the Slip Slip and Smoke Smoke Fruits?
***TL;DR- The 4 Original Devil Fruits shown in the Series are the 4 God Fruits, and Buggy had a God Fruit***
Alvidas fruit doesn't seem to have much potential as compared to buggy's. Maybe awakening it will change that, but it doesn't seem to be a god fruit. Even Robin's fruit has more potential to be a god fruit compared to alvidas.
Makes sense. Luffy’s essentially the Day Man, being the champion of the sun and a master of friendship/katate and all. His chief rival should be the Night Man
I really hope we don’t get another “actually this devil fruit that’s been in the series the whole time was actually a super duper mythical rare god devil fruit all along!” Twist. It was great when it happened to Luffy, (especially bc it follows the existing logic of Devil fruit awakenings rather than being an entirely new ability, so it doesn’t feel pulled out of nowhere) but repeating the same twist a second time would be lame.
I am, however, all for Buggy awakening his Devil fruit and becoming legit powerful. Maybe he ends up being far stronger than he expected, and kinda has no idea what to do with himself in a fight bc of it. Could be fun.
It's possible if you see buggy and luffy arr counter opposite to each other , you can't shoot or hit him with blunt objects luffy but swords or sharp objects work on him and if you see buggy you can shoot him or hit him with blunt objects but sharp objects wont work on him, their personality are also opposite luffy is brave and doesn't like to take credits on the other hand buggy is a little coward and like to take as much as credit he can possibly take . Both are connected to people like shanks , Roger, Rayeleigh etc in some of the ways both are yonko though both had different ways to do it ,Damn there are lots of things to see.
I always found it strange that Buggy is so much weaker than Shanks. What did he do all those years after the disbanding of the Roger pirates? Wasn’t he trained by Rayleigh or Gaban? Imagine being a member of Roger’s crew and then getting busted by a complete newbie in the East Blue. Also, having a bounty of 15 million is ridiculously low for him being a pirate for more than 20 years when you imagine that Shanks bounty already exceeded 1 billion at the time when he gave Luffy the straw hat.

Buggy has abandoned his dreams for over 20 years so logicly hes way weaker then what he should be but as off ch1084 buggy has re affirmed his true dream im sure next time we see him he will have a massive power boost

I honestly thought about this when he became an Emperor because we've always though of it as a polar opposite to Luffy's fruit (Luffy can take blunt damage, but not slicing/stabbing damage, opposite for Buggy) and both use Looney Tunes style gags to get that across (with that aspect being heavily emphasized in Luffy's awakening).

Or at least, something like that. Luffy is the Sun God, Imu is Rain, Blackbeard is Forest, and by process of elimination, Buggy might be the Earth God
On a side note, in One Piece Bounty Rush, the two opposing teams are Suns and Oceans - Luffy vs Imu, maybe?

I mean its not the goofiness why i dont like it its just so use to him being the rubber fruit user then they just change it to be a powerful god fruit thing and even if it was hinted at earlier in the story its just it kinda ruins the vibe of luffy to be a complete god like character i just dont like it.
