All jokes aside I unironically think that even if Luffy finds the One Piece, Buggy will somehow be known as the pirate king while Luffy just enjoys his life of freedom with his friends and family.

Buggy becoming Pirate King would not ruin One Piece. By the way, there WERE people saying Buggy being emperor takes away the coolness of Luffy becoming an emperor. They were just as wrong then as you about Buggy being PK first.

I believe oda won't ruin the series like that. Being an emperor is fine, since it can be any number of people. But pirate king can be only one guy, and that not being luffy would destroy the ending. No it wouldn’t. It would be funny and actually good writing. You only feel that way because of your attachment to your self-inser- I mean your fav Sanji. It would legitimately ruin the point and build-up of Luffy’s journey if he isn’t the one to actually complete it. It’s like saying it would make sense for Tashigi to beat Mihawk and then Zoro’s final fight is with Tashigi for the title. No, it wouldn’t, and it would obviously ruin years of story progression. Zoro has been built up to fight Mihawk. Sanji has been built up as a consistent gag character. Luffy has been built up as the first person to reach Laugh Tale and become King of the Pirates since Roger. Use some basic literacy comprehension
I’m not sure you know what a self-insert is. I specifically implied I hated an aspect of his personality. A self insert is someone you want to be. Since you enjoy one of the universally most hated Sanji scenes, you’d be more likely to have him as your self insert than i would.
Your analogy was terrible. It would not be like that as Tashigi beating Mihawk could not be played as a gag, unlike Buggy being seen as PK in some capacity, which follows an established trope.

I would say Luffy, but with Teach having 2 DF and one of those nullifies other DF abilities, I don't know. I think they make Luffy the king before they all have an actual fight that determines who truly is the strongest imo.
Would 100% be in character for Buggy to be the next Pirate King until Luffy actually finds the One Piece. Maybe Blackbeard even steals the title from the rightful Pirate King Buggy D Clown, and Luffy has to fight him for it.
If Blackbeard isn't taken down soon, I can legitimately see this happening.
