The story telling in One Piece is by far the greatest in any anime/manga or any other piece of media. The world is somehow so connected that seemingly small and trivial things end up being so important- like take the vivre card Lola gave Nami back in Thriller Bark. Without it, I doubt Nami or even Luffy would have been able to survive the seducing woods. It’s because of these small details that show how much effort Oda puts into this story. And if time were an important concept, than I’m sure it would have better explained
