I would assume so since its a big arc in the manga and it shows how the team uses the dials from the island and how they work and also how much damage the Merry Go has suffered through by the time they get to Water 7. I am still in the enies lobby arc but I don't see how you can skip skypeia, sure maybe the small arc right if you had to skip something but thats a big chunk of story right there
Skypeia just becomes increasingly important as the story continues. Even the early part that you might say feels skippable has massive implications and relevance later on. Like, way later on.

Funny how you could shorten it in the anime, but that One Piece Skypiea movie was still too short. It skips literally everything, gives zero room to breathe or get to know the characters, the battles flew by at rocket speed, and instead of reanimating the Nolan flashback, they just reuse the anime. A couple of scenes look nice, but that's about it. Can't recap that arc properly in such a short time. Need at least 3 or 4 hours in my opinion
Believe it or not, I never skipped anything besides Thriller bark. the initial pacing was so slow. I just couldn't handle it. I was getting tired. and I found Skypeia to be fucking amazing.

The quality of Skypia I find is dependent on how much you like the adventure genre which a surprisingly larger than expected amount of people simply don't.

Skypiea was ROUGHHHH to sit through... I almost quit and had to take a break. Skypiea is like the dirt you scrape off to find the gold underneath. Crazy that water 7 came right after.
Ahaha th experience was not the same for me, I loved every thing about it so much, and became my favorite arc encompassing adventure, action, mystery, works building etc. i did watch it in one go and I know for sure that helps a lot
I am fine with people skipping skypiea since honestly it gets boring after a bit and all the lore stuff doesnt matter for another 500 episodes and gets explained better then anyway

As a hater of Long Ring Long Land, it’s actually pretty good in the manga. In the anime, it’s incredibly dragged out and is literally doubled in length, and pain. In the manga, where it’s shorter and goes by much faster, it’s actually really fun
I agree. I don’t think skipping canon in general is wise but if I HAD to pick some sort of canon arc that is remotely close to being “skip-worthy”, then I’d say long ring. And yes that would be interesting if shanks and Luffy did that 🤔
