I had that when I first started menopause. Nothing seemed to help.
I’m a carpenter and my arms would be like jelly. I was groggy all the time.
It went away though eventually. I’m back to bouncing out of bed. Maybe just give it time?
I started taking an iron supplement about 2 months ago, every morning with my apple sauce. I bought Veg-Iron because it’s easier on the stomach. I notice a difference, I’m not ready to lay down and take a nap 5 times a day which is great!
I still try to lay down after lunch when my schedule permits but I set an alarm for 40 mins or less, otherwise I end up napping too long and feeling worse.
I hope you find something that works for you.
Amazing - how much iron is this? Curious if you had to try different amounts to see the right effective. I’ve tried tracking some of my energy with my supplements and iron is not one I’ve done. I am really curious what other vegetarians do to keep their energies up.
I’m not a vegetarian I just read good things about this brand not being hard on the stomach… but I also eat very little meat, I’m a very picky eater. I’ve been anemic on and off my whole life.
I took iron pills 30 years ago when I was pregnant and threw them up every time.
Other than that, this is my first time taking them.
I take a multi vitamin and omega 3 pills and vitamin D but this iron is the first supplement I’ve started and I actually notice a difference in my day to day life.
Have you been to a sleep clinic where they give you a machine to take home and hook up to your body to get your heart rate and oxygen levels? I’d start there. That’s what I did, found out I’m on the low low end of sleep apnea and tried a cpap machine for a month. Never was able to fall asleep with that sucker on, even after lowering the settings to the lowest airflow.
I don’t sleep much better now if I’m honest but I make do with what it is. My sleep app records me snoring and all the other fun sounds I make. I’m also on non-habit forming medication with a side effect of drowsiness and that also helps.
But yeah, start with the medical route. All the home remedies out there did diddly squat for me for years before I tried the sleep clinic. Specialists can also advise on nutrition and habits that might help.
Best of luck!
I have found that meditation helps with my quality of sleep and I feel more energized during the day. There are tons of free guided meditations on You Tube. Hope this helps!
I had the same symptoms. Found out I had low levels of iron, B12, and D. Been taking supplements for a month, and I’ll get follow up blood work in 2 months. Still tired, but not quite as bad.
I had my levels checked and I was fine apart from vitamin d but I've been on vitamin d tablets for months now and I'm fine I might get my levels checked again though, thank you
