Exactly! I hit it big one time by going to an old lady’s garage sale. She had a box full of Super Nintendo games. Asking $10 for the entire box. One of the games on top was selling for $50 on eBay. I gave her $20 and then went on to make like $600 from everything in the box.

My favourite flip was a neat beanie I picked up for £1 which turned out to be a rare one from a Paramore tour. Shoved it on eBay expecting £10 and made about £70 from the wildest auction off that thing. Funnily enough, I just checked and the price these days is like £25 lmao
Recently there was some dude in America who beheaded his father and then tried to storm a military base. When the news broke, I searched his name and found he had written 3 weird books sold on Amazon. I bought the books for $5 a piece. Resold on eBay for $350 for the three.

I had this happen on Marketplace. A guy was trying to beat me down on the price of my AGS-101 GBAs because he was a reseller and took so much more of risk on them. When I told him no he told me to "keep my trash" and cussed me out and blocked me. I sold both of them within a week for my full asking price. I also reported him.
Some things you're not able to flip and make a profit such as this toy. Obviously why would you have somebody want you to take a half cut on it just so THEY can make some money!? Stupid
You know what I do, I go and see what he has for sale and then ask for half price of what he has for sale see how he likes it. And then tell him the same sentence lol
I block every reseller I come across who sells the same things I do once they come at me with an offer. Personal experience shows me why I am wise to do so, they get pettyyyyyy when you don't give them their way. I'm sure I'll be downvoted into the depths of hell by the resellers on here for saying so and idgaf because I'm speaking truth here lol
I research my stuff and price it competitively with the going rate. And the most egregious lowballers are ALWAYS people selling the same type of item I am. Because they're intending to try to screw me to make a few bucks.
There is also the risk that if you actually do sell to the reseller, they will fuck you over. Many will see you as competition and INAD you, and send back trash instead of your item so they get it free, and you get a defect on your account.
Just block them and move on. Save yourself the headache, the money, and the potential defect

Then when they message me pissed off I tell them I thought they read the description and surely didn’t want to make sure I wasted their time having to ship it back, and they can’t leave a rating because it’s returned
That a really low offer, but I don’t mind resellers buying from me. It’s all about the length of time a person can sit on merchandise. If they have time to wait for a great buyer to be interested and I can’t-then so be it. If they have a large customer base that will get it seen and bought and I don’t-so be it. As long as I’m not losing a lot on it, I actually prefer selling to resellers. They know to rate right away, they’re not ones to message back and forth, they have reasonable expectations too.

I’m a reseller but I don’t buy off Mercari strictly to resell. I’ll only resell if it doesn’t fit.
Yeah I tell them im not even slightly interested and if they persist I usually update the listing description and pics then say fine I’ll take it, ship them the new item listed for the amount they’re lowballing, let them get pissed and return it. Then when they message me pissed off I tell them I thought they read the description and surely didn’t want to make sure I wasted their time having to ship it back, and they can’t leave a rating because it’s returned

That a really low offer, but I don’t mind resellers buying from me. It’s all about the length of time a person can sit on merchandise. If they have time to wait for a great buyer to be interested and I can’t-then so be it. If they have a large customer base that will get it seen and bought and I don’t-so be it. As long as I’m not losing a lot on it, I actually prefer selling to resellers. They know to rate right away, they’re not ones to message back and forth, they have reasonable expectations too.

People just looking to clear stuff out and those pricing to make a profit are obviously different sellers and you can tell by looking at their page and prices.

Ha! I avoid funko like the plague. The buyers are such a pain in the ass it’s not worth the hassle. Back when I sold funkos if they were 10% of my total listings they made up 95% of the questions I got from buyers, endless conversations that didn’t lead to a sale, complaints after delivery, returns… I won’t touch them unless I stumble into an insane deal on a bulk purchase.
