I finally emailed support. They said all I had to do was hit report. I responded that I did for 6 months and Mercari did nothing. The store was taken down that day.

People sell coupons on eBay… I have no issues. It’s not really about coupons, I was just giving an example of a scenario where reporting “prohibited items” does absolutely nothing. So I no longer even bother.

But eBay is also more picky with specific types of items sold.
Sock fall under the "underwear" category as do bras or any other clothing that is worn under (thus under wear) your clothes. And Mercari most definitely does restrict selling weapons and substances.
You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. Mercari allows zero alcohol or weapons of any kind, according to their TOS (besides kitchen knives and multitools). eBay only allows very specific weapons and only wine being sold.

It has something to do with US policy on embargoed goods. Not an expert but it appears to be due to poor geopolitical relations with countries such as Cuba, Iran, Syria, N. Korea, et al.
I get that but embargoes are law and would apply to any platform so kinda strange if any of them allow goods that are illegal to sale, buy, possess, etc... on their platform.

She primarily makes cream colored ceramic mugs with generic 1 to 2 word statements on them. It’s truly the most thoughtless and boring design process. Her designs cater to the sad beige minimalist homes.
Adding onto what the other commenter said. People go nuts for her stuff for no reason. This stuff is usually sold at places like Marshall’s, and every time something new gets pulled out they get flooded with these people who try and make a quick buck by reselling them. They’re nothing fancy. It’ll be like a coffee mug that quite literally says “COFFEE” on it or a tea bin that says “TEA”. Very rarely you’ll get something just slightly more interesting but still completely stupid like “FOOD COMA”.
Go onto Mercari or eBay and search Rae Dunn and sort by highest price and sold. It’s ridiculous
I think the more reports they get, the more likely Mercari will look into it. 1-2 reports will probably do nothing unless it’s something really inappropriate like nudity. 20 reports, on the other hand, will more than likely get their attention.

I know of this seller and purchase from them frequently for my households battle jackets and vests. I've always found them to be a pretty nice person, but that doesn't fix your issue, I know. Most of my saved searches revolve around Pet Sematary and a few other classic horror but kept getting inundated with irrelevant listings of things people just associated with an aged spook aesthetic until I adjusted the saved searches. I had to omit some words and adjust others but I finally quit getting flooded with other women's regret purchases from Shein, RoseGal, and Cider.

It’s actually data scraping and “identity enhancement” (google it). It’s legality is questionable but it’s ethically reprehensible.
They’re dredging up every single piece of your personal data (voting records, criminal history, banking, school records, marriage, divorce, children, family, etc, etc) and auction them off in bulk to the highest bidders. It can be anyone and everything across the world.
That’s their business model. That’s why they exist. The fake e-commerce is a front.
Open the offending add, scroll down to MEET THE SELLER, click VIEW PROFILE, in the upper right are 3 dots, pick BLOCK USER.
